Prince William attacked by furious TV star after bombshell statement

Prince William will be the Supreme Governor of the Church of England when he becomes king. Still, he has been said not to be “comfortable in a faith environment.” Now, William is slammed by a furious former aide to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Christianity and its role in modern society have been debated repeatedly. Meanwhile, British monarchs and the church are still closely connected, not least because they serve as Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

Prince William confirms 'quiet faith' and new commitment to Church

When King Charles passes, Prince William will take the throne. However, reports about his faith have claimed he might not be that open with his belief in the rhuch.

Per a report in the Times, an aide said the Prince of Wales’ “commitment to the Church of England is sometimes quieter than people expect, and for that reason it is not always fully understood.”

“Those who know him well recognise that his connection to the Church, and to the sense of duty that comes with it, runs deep and is grounded in something personal and sincere. Faith, service, and responsibility are themes that have long shaped the role he will one day inherit, and they are things he approaches in his own thoughtful way.”

Prince William attackade by TV star over being “not particularly religious”

The aide added, “His feeling is, ‘I might not be at church every day, but I believe in it, I want to support it and this is an important aspect of my role and the next role, and I will take it very seriously, in my own way’.”

Royal biographer Robert Hardman has described William as “not particularly religious” and “beset by doubts about whether he should head up a church he doesn’t attend much.” Now, British TV star and writer Gavin Ashender has shared a furious attack on the future king.

Per Express, during an LBC debate, Ashenden said that William’s silence on faith is “insulting.” The former Chaplain to the late Queen Elizabeth said he was “feeling a bit insulted,” adding that his faith is a matter of “intense integrity.”

“People die for it in places, they give their lives for it. The standards are very high, you forgive your enemies, you love your enemies,” Gavin Ashenden continued. “It’s a big thing”.

Fans divided

The attack on Prince William has left fans divided. Per Express, one person wrote on social media, “So the person writing a book and cashing in from another persons life is believed over that person. Ridiculous – stop making it political. People find God at different times in their lives.”

Another added, “Religious belief or not doesn’t change a person’s character, and is really nobody else’s business, while a third stated, “Give the guy a break. He’s dammed when he does, and he’s dammed when he doesn’t. How about doing the Christian thing yourself and giving him some support and respect?”

The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be deliberately easing their official commitments

While royal calendars are typically inked with engagements months in advance, a gentler, more intimate rhythm is taking precedence this spring for Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be deliberately easing their official commitments throughout April, choosing instead to retreat into the sanctity of family life with their three children, Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales, and Prince Louis of Wales.

A thoughtful pause rooted in family:

The timing is no coincidence. The young royals began their Easter break from Lambrook School on March 27, with classes not resuming until April 22.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have quietly rewritten the script, favoring school runs, countryside walks, and shared family rituals over the more distant childcare conventions of past generations.

For William and Catherine, this window has become something of a sacred tradition, an opportunity to be fully present in the everyday moments of childhood that royal duty once so often eclipsed.

This decision reflects a broader evolution in royal parenting. Catherine, whose own upbringing was notably grounded and non-aristocratic, has long championed a more “hands-on” approach to motherhood.

Just days later, on April 29, William and Catherine will commemorate their 15th wedding anniversary, a milestone that may well be accompanied by a new official photograph, continuing a cherished tradition.

Personal reasons:

This year’s pause carries added poignancy. Following her recent recovery and remission from cancer, the Princess of Wales has embraced what insiders describe as a philosophy of intentional living, graciously declining non-essential engagements in order to safeguard her physical and emotional well-being. It is, as she has privately termed it, a return to her new normal, one defined not by obligation, but by balance.

For William and Catherine, this window has become something of a sacred tradition, an opportunity to be fully present in the everyday moments of childhood that royal duty once so often eclipsed.

Inside their family plans:

The family is expected to spend much of April at their beloved country residence, Anmer Hall, nestled within the Sandringham estate. There, far from the formality of palace life, the Waleses are known to embrace the restorative power of the outdoors. brisk coastal walks, countryside adventures, or even the occasional ski excursion.

A gentler, more intimate rhythm is taking precedence this spring for Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Such moments, Catherine has often emphasized, are essential not only for physical health but for fostering resilience and emotional well-being in children.

As for the traditional Easter service in Windsor, royal watchers note that the couple has, in recent years, opted for more private celebrations. Whether they will join the wider Royal Family this year remains an open question, one that seems almost secondary to the family’s quiet commitment to togetherness.

Milestones on the horizon:

Though public appearances may be sparse, April will still hold deeply personal significance. On April 23, Prince Louis will celebrate his sixth birthday, an occasion typically marked with a charming new portrait shared with the public.

A gradual return to Royal life:

Once the school term resumes, so too will the cadence of royal duty. Late April and May are expected to see a graceful re-entry into public life, including the couple’s assumption of a new and rather prestigious responsibility, granting their own Royal Warrants, recognizing excellence among British brands and suppliers.

May will also bring a renewed focus on causes close to Catherine’s heart, particularly during Mental Health Awareness Week, alongside appearances at beloved fixtures such as the Chelsea Flower Show and the elegant garden parties at Buckingham Palace, where the Waleses often represent King Charles III.

Looking ahead to a Royal summer:

This measured return will set the stage for the grandeur of June, with the pageantry of Trooping the Colour and the historic Order of the Garter service awaiting on the horizon.

But for now, behind the gates of Anmer Hall, a quieter story unfolds, one of family breakfasts, laughter in the Norfolk air, and a future king and queen choosing, above all, to be present.

As the heir apparent, Prince William truly is following in his father’s footsteps. While King Charles remains in charge of the Royal Family, Prince William appears to have taken on a greater level of responsibility in recent years. And according to one royal expertWilliam and Charles‘s relationship has continued to improve following several “external battles.”

In the new biography, William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s New Era: The Inside Storyroyal expert Russell Myers discussed the ways in which William and Charles’s relationship has evolved.

“Charles and William had been united throughout the Sussexes’s departure and the scandal involving Prince Andrew and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, which has brought them ever closer together in recent years,” Myers wrote in the new book.

Meanwhile, a source told the author, “While [The King] loves both his sons equally, his relationship with the Prince of Wales is something that has strengthened over the period of difficulty experienced by the family as external battles have occurred.”

Additional sources also confirmed that King Charles wants to ensure his eldest son is ready to take the throne in the near future.

Per Myers, “[O]ne of his main objectives since ascending the throne at the age of 73 has been to prepare William for his time as monarch as best he can—recognizing that it’s perhaps the most important thing for him to do considering the age at which he took the Crown.”

Basically, despite facing several sagas in recent years, King Charles and Prince William appear to be working together to ensure the future of the British Royal Family.

The Prince of Wales is working to ensure that Charlotte and Louis are “well-prepared” to lead “independent lives” one day

  • Tina Brown claims William is mindful of the challenges of primogeniture and wants to avoid past sibling struggles
  • The Prince and Princess of Wales aim to make royal life approachable for their children while shielding them from pitfalls

Prince William is said to be focused on the future of his children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — and mindful of the royal destinies that separate them.

Princess Diana‘s biographer and former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Tina Brown makes the claim in the latest edition of her Substack, Fresh Hell.

“I am told that the heir to the throne, Prince William, is preoccupied with the built-in risk of primogeniture’s cruelty,” Brown wrote in the newsletter published on March 24.

“He is determined that his second- and third-born children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are well-prepared and well-financed for independent lives and will not fall into the same cycle of thwarted freedom,” alleged the author of The Diana Chronicles.

Prince Louis of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales, Prince William, Prince of Wales and Prince George of Wales attend the 'Together At Christmas' Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on December 05, 2025 in London, England. Led by The Princess and supported by The Royal Foundation, the annual event offered a chance to pause and reflect on the values of love, compassion, and the connections we share. The service also highlighted remarkable individuals from across the UK who have demonstrated extraordinary kindness, empathy, and support within their communities

Brown made the comment in a Substack questioning what’s next for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s commercial ventures. She also posed questions about their Australia trip in April, where they’ll mix entrepreneurial and charitable opportunities for the first time during such a trip abroad.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, was born the “spare” to Prince William, and he and his wife departed their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020. They moved to Meghan’s home state of California, dedicating their time to their charitable organization, Archewell Philanthropies, while pursuing media deals, and Prince Harry’s position as the spare to Prince William gave the name for his groundbreaking memoir, Spare, published in 2023.

“I was the shadow, the support, the Plan B. I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy,” Harry alleged in the text.

Though the brothers remain estranged amid a rift that became public when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal roles six years ago, the different paths ahead for William’s children is something that he and Kate Middleton are mindful of.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, and George is second in line to the throne behind William.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are gradually introducing George to royal duties and even brought him along for his first formal function — a tea party with veterans — in May 2025, but they are determined to shield Charlotte and Louis from the pitfalls that have plagued the younger siblings of previous heirs.

How Kate Middleton, Prince William react to Harry's olive branch to King Charles?

The royal insiders have exposed Kate Middleton and Prince William’s reaction to Harry’s olive branch to King Charles amid their ongoing feud.

The California-based royals Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly want an invite to return to the UK to see King Charles this summer alongwith their children Archie and Lilibet.

Prince Harry’s friend has said, “If he was invited by the King, he would get a package of security that automatically kicks in. He’d like an invite to Sandringham. Would he go? It would depend who was there. If the King was to say, ‘Come up and spend some time with the family’, he’d love that.”

Following these reports, the insiders close to Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared the royal couple’s reaction as the intentions of Meghan and Harry’s reunion are not clear.

The close source revealed the future king and queen’s personal stance on Meghan and Harry “has not changed”.

“If the King was to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to stay with him, that is a matter for His Majesty alone,” the insider claimed, according to the Mirror.

“The Prince and Princess of Wales’s position has not changed and they would not make arrangements to see them outside of them potentially attending an official public engagement.”

Commenting on the report, a royal fan said, “Both brothers need to grow up and make peace. This is not primary school now, even though they act like it is, Both living in the past. They need to talk alone together and move on.”

Prince William’s major snub as Prince Harry plots his royal return to the UK

Prince William is reportedly planning to snub his little brother, Prince Harry, when he and his family eventually come to visit the rest of the royal family in the UK.

A friend of Harry’s recently told the Sunday Times that “he’d love” to be invited by his father, King Charles, to spend some family time at Sandringham this summer. If he and his family were to be invited by the King, there would be a package of security that would automatically kick in to protect them, the source added.

But another source has told The Mirror that the Prince and Princess of Wales, 43 and 44 years old respectively, would likely not be as thrilled to see Harry, 41, return to the royal fold with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 44, and his two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four. The family have not been to the UK together since 2022.

The source said that any invitation would be made by the King alone, and that “The Prince and Princess of Wales’s position has not changed and they would not make arrangements to see them outside of them potentially attending an official public engagement.”

Any plans to head back to the UK will come after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s unofficial tour of Australia starting in April.

The visit includes media, business and private engagements, with the Duchess slated to attend the Her Best Life event at Coogee, where tickets cost $2699 to $3199 per person.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry will speak at the InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit in Melbourne, where tickets start at $1978.

Meghan will also be looking to launch her lifestyle brand, As Ever, Down Under, after terminating her deal with Netflix to promote it.

However, not everyone is looking forward to their visit.

As the couple prepare to make their way Down Under for a tour in April, a petition boasting over 35,000 signatures has been circulating online, calling for no taxpayers’ money to be contributed.

“These activities are private and commercial and must be treated strictly as a private visit,” the petition read.

“At a time when Australians are facing significant cost-of-living pressures, including rising grocery bills, fuel prices, mortgage stress driven by interest rate hikes, and increasing energy costs, public resources must be used responsibly and applied fairly, without special treatment for high-profile individuals.”

The petition has caught the eye of the Montecito-based pair, with a representative of the couple weighing in.

“It’s a moot point. The trip is being funded privately, so I’m not sure what this petition hopes to achieve,” a rep for the couple said, according to the Daily Mail.

“If you wanted to dive into the ridiculousness of this petition as an agenda for spreading misinformation, then one could equally hypothesise that there are approximately 26.5 million Australians who haven’t signed it, who must therefore agree with the taxpayer picking up the tab for their visit.

“Of course, that is another equally stupid assertion to make.”
