During her tour of Australia, Meghan Markle drew significant attention while sharing her experiences of being targeted on social media for 10 years, joining Prince Harry in warning about the decline of youth mental health.
According to People, on April 16 (local time), Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited Batyr at Swinburne University of Technology during the third day of their trip.
Batyr is a youth mental health charity in Australia focusing on preventative education and early intervention, primarily working with young people to reduce stigma and encourage those in need of help to speak up.
Meghan Recalls 10 Years of Bullying and Attacks
In a conversation with young participants at the organization, Meghan Markle stated: “For 10 years, every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I am the most trolled person in the entire world. But I am still here. When I think about what you are going through, I realize that it is important to understand that this multi-billion dollar social media industry—which was built and is operated on cruelty to drive clicks—is not going to change. Therefore, you have to be stronger than that.”
Prince Harry also observed that social media causes a great deal of loneliness for many people. He admitted that he is not someone suited for city life: “My mental health cannot handle living in the city, absolutely not.”
In another part of the discussion, Prince Harry mentioned Australia’s ban on children under 16 using social media.
“Australia has led the way. Your government was the first nation in the world to introduce this ban. We could sit here and debate the pros and cons of it; I’m not here to judge. What I want to say is, in terms of responsibility and leadership, it is remarkable. Because many other countries have now followed suit, but it shouldn’t have gotten to the point where things had to be banned.”

The couple — who will soon celebrate eight years of marriage and a decade together — made headlines in recent weeks after private Facebook messages Harry exchanged with Mail on Sunday journalist Charlotte Griffiths in 2011 and 2012 were made public during his unlawful information gathering case against Associated Newspapers Limited in London, which publishes the MoS and the Daily Mail.
In the messages, Griffiths referred to Harry as “Mr. Mischief” and praised their “fun weekend of naughtiness,” while Harry wrote, “I WISH I was there sugar,” “[I] miss our movie snuggles,” and signed one note, “Mwah xxx.”
Aside from being “embarrassing” for Harry and his wife, the revelations left Meghan “humiliated” because she was allegedly “blindsided” by their release, according to the source.
“Naturally, she’s wondering what else he may have hidden from her. Truth is paramount to [her], so him being dishonest or at best evasive about his past is hitting her hard,” the source said.

Radar also reported that Harry and Meghan are allegedly clashing over the former Suits star’s frequent social media posts featuring their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“He does not want them paraded around or thrust into the spotlight, and yet Meghan continues to totally defy his wishes,” the source claimed, suggesting it’s creating further friction behind the scenes.
“Meghan is very much the boss in the relationship. She controls almost every aspect of Harry’s life both personally and professionally,” the source said.
“It’s triggering. As a kid, he hated it when he and [brother Prince William] were forced to pose for photographers during their private moments. The fact that his own kids are now being trotted out by Meghan in a similar fashion is not OK with him…”

According to the source, while Meghan loves working in Hollywood, “Harry doesn’t understand or enjoy the culture or mentality” of the industry and is becoming increasingly “fed up” with the constant drama.

Even more, it hurt that his father seemed to be giving Trump more attention, something further cemented by the fact that the monarch made no move to visit them throughout his stay in the US.
However, he doesn’t intend to react so as not to further upset the already tense situation with his father, but this stance of silence isn’t supported by Meghan.
