Whoops!
Kelly Ripa experienced a major makeup mishap while getting ready to film Live with Kelly and Mark with husband Mark Consuelos on Monday, January 5.
“This morning I woke up, I was very disoriented. We’d been on vacation, didn’t know where I was,” she explained to the audience. “Started getting ready a little bit in the dark because I don’t like to wake, you know, I don’t like [to] illuminate the room; I don’t want the bedroom to be illuminated when I start putting makeup on.”
Ripa, 55, reached for what she thought was her foundation stick and started putting it on.
“Something doesn’t look right, but I sort of keep going,” she recalled. “I just keep adding more and more and more and more. And if I look strange to you this morning, it’s because I was putting contour all over my face.”
Consuelos, 54, of course, reassured his wife of 29 years that she looked “great!”
“I look like I’ve been somewhere,” Ripa replied. “Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, you’re tan.’ I’m not. I used a contour stick as foundation.”
The talk show host has previously spoken about her makeup routine — and how getting older has affected her skin.
“I do contouring of my face in the morning. It really is like painting by the numbers when I do my makeup,” Ripa shared on the show back in 2023, per People. “It’s like cheekbones, jawline, you know, the whole thing.”
“And then, when I sculpt my nose, which is a whole trick that [makeup artist] Kristofer Buckle taught me, I find that, now that I’m older, I use, like, twice as much,” she continued. “There’s more real estate.”
Kelly Ripa Reveals Why She Refuses to Wear a Bra on Airplanes
“Let’s face it, I don’t need a bra. This bra is so I have a place to clip my mic,” the talk show host joked on Jan. 5

NEED TO KNOW
- Kelly Ripa thought she was “naked flying” until she learned the real meaning of the travel trend
- Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos broke down the trending term on Live with Kelly and Mark and shared their own versions
- “They’ll carry their cell phone [and] their wallet in their pockets with no luggage at all. It’s a point of pride,” she explained
Kelly Ripa has some thoughts on airplane attire — or lack thereof.
During the Monday, Jan. 5 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa, 55, revealed that she doesn’t wear a bra when flying.
She and husband Mark Consuelos were discussing travel trends when she shared her clothing choices for flights, seemingly mistaking her personal habit for a current travel trend.
“Do you know about ‘naked flying?’ So we all know the term ‘raw-dogging,’ which I hate,” she began. “But raw-dogging, I guess, is when you sit on a flight and you don’t entertain yourself with anything. You don’t listen to music, you don’t watch TV, you don’t watch a movie, you don’t read a book. You just sit there and stare straight ahead.”
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(728x157:730x159):format(webp)/travelers-with-luggage-waiting-in-line-061925-7529435899394c24b00e359d47ef658b.jpg)
She added that it sounded like a “precursor to psychopathy.” “But I’m not here to diagnose,” she continued. “It sounds torturous for no reason.”
She then went on to address a new trending term: naked flying.
“Naked flying is where you board the flight with zero luggage. You’ve done that,” she said to Conseulos, 54, who admits to a lesser version of the trend, having brought just a backpack on board in the past.
“So why are people doing this?” he asked.
“People are doing this just to say they do it,” Ripa responded. “They’ll carry their cell phone [and] their wallet in their pockets with no luggage at all. It’s a point of pride.”
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-2074505431-de56b0166aa94cfe953b00e9e0a186b8.jpg)
Ripa then admitted that she thought naked flying was something she did. “I don’t wear a bra on an airplane,” she said. “I just refuse. I feel like life is hard. What’s the point?”
“Let’s face it, I don’t need a bra. This bra is so I have a place to clip my mic,” she continued, pointing to her pink blouse. “That’s the only reason. That’s why I’m wearing it.”
Consuelos said he had “another image” when contemplating what naked flying was, adding that flying in a birthday suit didn’t seem practical. “You need support! Guys need support.”
“[Mark] goes, ‘Have you heard of naked flying?’ I go, ‘I’ve been doing that for years,’ ” Ripa quipped. “So I want to try that. This is the year I try naked flying, where I walk on a flight without anything. Except my cell phone and my wallet. And my lip balm, which I’ll hand to you for your pocket.”

According to Thrillist, there are three levels of naked flying: “totally bare,” “pocket people” and “delivery crew.” Those who travel totally bare bring very little — their cell phones, wallets, maybe a phone charger.
Pocket people use the chipmunk method of stuffing their pockets with essentials such as a pair of headphones, toiletries and even extra clothes. Deep pockets and cargo pants are key to this technique.
Perhaps the most expensive method of naked traveling is the delivery crew approach. These travelers have their luggage shipped and delivered to their destination rather than checking a bag or using a carry-on.
Kelly Ripa announces 2 new ‘All My Children’ movies are in development
Are you ready to return to Pine Valley? Susan Lucci is.
On Tuesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa podcast, Kelly Ripa revealed that she and husband Mark Consuelos are developing two All My Children movies for Lifetime via their production company Milojo. “It’s very early stages,” Ripa said during the announcement. But she quickly asked her podcast guest, Susan Lucci, who famously played Erica Kane for 41 years on the ABC soap, if she’d be interested in returning to the role that made her a household name.

“Not to put you on the spot, how would you feel about walking back into the role?” Ripa, who played Hayley Vaughan from 1990-2002 on AMC, asked her former costar.
“I would love to play Erica Kane again,” replied Lucci without hesitation. “It would be a lot of fun, are you kidding? She was so much fun to play, my goodness, it was so much fun. I was serious when I said I would look at the scripts and go ‘Really, I get to do this?’ This was a wonderful part. I’ve been hearing good things about the writer [of the movies], too, and that, of course, is so important, whose hands are you in.” She added that she’s worked with Lifetime before and “I’ve had nothing but positive things [to say].”
The films’ writer was not revealed nor was a timeline for the Lifetime movies’ release.
Also during the podcast episode, Lucci talked about her original Erica Kane audition, her favorite and craziest AMC storylines as well as Ripa and Lucci reminiscing about how their respective real-life pregnancies were hidden on AMC. They also mentioned how fan interest in the show remains huge to this day, including a 92nd Street Y All My Children panel hosted by Lucci in January 2025 that celebrated the show’s 55th anniversary with Ripa as one of the panelists. Commenting on how there was a line of fans packed around the block wanting to attend, “You feel their warmth and their energy and you feel so lucky,” said Lucci.

All My Children aired on ABC daytime from Jan. 5, 1970 to Sept. 23, 2011 and won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series three times (1992, 1994, and 1998). In playing Kane, who was married 11 times to eight different men, Lucci is known for having been nominated for the Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series but losing every time until her 19th nomination in 1999.
Ripa was Daytime Emmy-nominated three times for the soap but has won six for her work as host on Live!, which she officially joined in 2001 as a cohost to Regis Philbin when his longtime partner Kathie Lee Gifford departed. Philbin left the show 10 years later with Ripa staying on with cohosts Michael Strahan from 2012-16, Ryan Seacrest from 2017-23 and Consuelos since 2023. Ripa began the Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast in 2023 on SiriusXM.
Kelly Ripa’s son Joaquin ‘super grateful’ as he shares momentous life update

LIVE with Kelly and Mark hosts Kelly and Mark Consuelos also share an older son, Michael, and a daughter, Lola, both of whom are also performers
t’s a big day for the Ripa-Consuelos household, as the youngest member of the family, Joaquin Consuelos, is set to make his Broadway debut, just months after graduating from college.
The 22-year-old is the youngest of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ three children. Their oldest, 28-year-old Michael, is an actor, writer and producer, while their only daughter, 24-year-old Lola, is a musician who released her debut EP in December.
Joaquin is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s drama program, and now, he’s been newly cast in an upcoming revival of the famed play Death of a Salesman on Broadway.
The production will star Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf in the leading roles, directed by Joe Mantello. Preview shows will begin on March 6 at the Winter Garden Theatre (currently playing Mamma Mia!), and opening night will take place on April 9.
Per an update from Playbill, joining Nathan and Laurie will be Christopher Abbott, Ben Ahlers, K. Todd Freeman, Jonathan Cake, John Drea, Michael Benjamin Washington, Tasha Lawrence, Jake Silbermann, Jake Termine, Karl Green, and Jack Falahee. It is unclear what role Joaquin will play, he is likely one of the swing members.
An official logline for the historic play, written by Arthur Miller, reads: “One man and his family are caught up in the pressures and delusions of living the American Dream. Miller’s play is the story of a traveling salesman whose illusions of picture-perfect business and family life cave in on him.”
The drama was written in 1949 and opened on Broadway that same year, instantly becoming a hit, winning a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Play. It has since been revived five times on the Broadway stage.
Joaquin shared the news with his followers on Instagram with a screenshot of the Playbill story, writing beside it: “Super grateful to be a part of this.” This is only the second mainstream project for the young actor, who graduated from the University of Michigan in the spring of 2025.
It was revealed in December that Joaquin had been cast in a pilot for Hulu’s upcoming adaptation of Nash Jenkins’ 2023 novel Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos, simply titled Foster Dade. He will join Sam Trammell and Heather Burns in the show.
Joaquin will play the character of Colby, first revealed by Deadline. His official character description reads: “Colby projects confidence and revels in his status as a senior prefect in Brennan House.”
“Obsessed with getting into Brown, he never misses a chance to drop the name for his resume. He kindly offers to show Foster around school, but his true colors reveal a rule-obsessed enforcer with a chip on his shoulder.” Joaquin is represented by CAA and Untitled, with Walt Disney Studios behind the Hulu production.
An official logline describes Foster Dade as “a sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school that explores privilege, scandal, sexuality, and masculinity amid the rise of social media, millennial anxiety and pharmaceuticals.”
Kelly Ripa is getting candid about gaining weight after cutting alcohol out of her diet.
Ripa, 54, opened up about the subject during the Wednesday, Jan. 22, episode of Live With Kelly and Mark while speaking with guest co-host Andy Cohen, who was filling in for Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos.
Charlotte Rampling is now 78 years old and here is what she looks like now…
Cohen, 56, explained that he expected “some” weight loss after giving up booze for the month of January but admitted that it hasn’t “really happened yet,” which prompted Ripa to share her experience with putting on a few pounds while abstaining from the sauce.
“I told you, when I quit drinking, I expected there to be this windfall of weight loss, because everybody’s like, ‘Well, you are gonna get too skinny, and you can’t afford to lose it,’” Ripa, who revealed she gained 12 pounds, told viewers.

“I don’t understand this magical weight loss,” Ripa continued, referencing how some people who give up alcohol lean out. “I think I just took to eating the sugars.”
Ripa previously revealed she gave up alcohol for good after doing a sober month with a group of girlfriends in 2020.
“I just never went back to it,” the All My Children alum told People in “Ryan [Seacrest] likes to blame himself for me stopping drinking, he’s like, ‘I got here and you stopped drinking.’ It really was not that.”
She added of her decision to stay alcohol-free, “It wasn’t even really a thought process. It felt great, I felt like I looked great, I felt like I didn’t feel hungover. Not that I was a heavy drinker—I wasn’t someone who got drunk—but even like two glasses of wine at a girl’s night out dinner; I would feel it the next morning.”
