Pills Found Possibly Laced With Narcotics

Britney Spears had pills in her possession when she was arrested for DUI … and TMZ has learned those pills are in the process of being tested, and the results could theoretically mean jail time.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … the pills were Adderall — something she got while recently in Mexico. Our sources say one of the reasons Britney goes down to Mexico so often is to obtain the drug.

Our sources tell us … those pills will be tested to determine if they contain pure Adderall or an additional substance. It’s not uncommon that certain drugs obtained in Mexico are laced with fentanyl, cocaine, meth or other substances.

Although CHP told us they did not find substances in Britney’s car during the arrest, our sources say the pills were indeed found and are now in the process of being tested.

This is Britney’s first DUI, and typically judges will not order jail time. However, if the drugs in her system contain serious levels of narcotics, judges have discretion to order that the offender spend time behind bars.

Britney’s manager Cade Hudson tells TMZ, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

So, the stakes may now be high enough for Britney to voluntarily enter a serious rehab program. Again.

Britney Spears showed her sober coaches the door weeks before getting arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Sources with knowledge tell TMZ … Britney fired the sobriety coaches after she signed a deal selling her rights to her music and after she returned home to California following a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico.

We’re told Britney’s team also fired other people who were looking out for her … including security guards who kept an eye on the pop superstar.

TMZ broke the story … Britney was arrested Wednesday night in Ventura County, California for DUI. She was pulled over near her home and then taken to a hospital to have her blood drawn and tested.

During processing at the jail, Britney was emotional and crying.

Our sources say Britney’s team is now restructuring things and trying to figure out a game plan for her.

We’re told Britney mostly just dances around naked all day wherever she is — which lines up with what we see from her on Instagram — and our sources say she talks to herself and is in her own world.

In an IG Reel, Jason — who was famously married to the singer for just 55 hours before their annulment in 2004 — pointed out her reported 0.06 blood-alcohol level is actually below the legal BAC limit in most states. He also said it’s possible any substances in her system could’ve been legally prescribed medication, which would change the narrative entirely.

Jason doubled down, saying it’s unfair for the internet to run with “drunk driving” speculation before the facts are confirmed … adding rumors spread fast and people end up judged before the truth is even clear.

He wrapped it up by saying Britney deserves facts, fairness and due process.

As we reported, Britney was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly driving under the influence in Ventura County, California. The pop star was taken to a hospital after the arrest before being transported to jail. She was released Thursday morning and is due back in court in May.

Britney had fired her sobriety coaches weeks earlier. Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Britney is willing to comply with a treatment and support plan.
