Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma‘s relationship is “What Dreams Are Made Of!”

The couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 21, and Koma, 38, poked fun at his relationship with the actress and singer, also 38, in an Instagram Stories tribute.

Sharing a photo of the pair, Koma wrote, “6 years my wifey. And they said we wouldn’t make it. Literally everyone said ‘they won’t make it.’ “

“Okay just that guy in the Just Jared comment section but f— him we’re crushing,” the musician continued, then jokingly comparing his marriage to Duff to “eating Taco Bell in the late 90s,” explaining, “I never know which you I’m gonna get but it’s largely the same ingredients and the euphoria outweighs the tummy discomfort. And you always look cool.”

Koma also shared a series of screenshots from when his relationship with Duff began, and, for her part, the “Mature” songstress marked the occasion with a selfie of the couple. “6 years into forever,” she wrote with the snapshot on her Instagram Stories.

Duff and Koma first met when they collaborated on the Lizzie McGuire alum’s 2015 album, Breathe In. Breathe Out.

The pair were then linked romantically in early 2017, and they dated on and off for several years. Duff and the musician eventually tied the knot a few days before Christmas in 2019.

Duff and Koma are parents to three children together: daughters Banks Violet, 7, Mae James, 4, and Townes Meadow, 19 months.

The How I Met Your Father star is also a mom to her first child, son Luca Cruz, 13, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie.

Duff opened up about her relationship with Koma through an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in 2021.

“We knew we just had to be together because we tried a bunch of times to be apart, and that didn’t work out for either one of us,” she admitted.

Koma, who has a tattoo in honor of his kids, also has some ink dedicated to Duff — a tattoo of his wife’s name on his butt.

“Good luck winning a fight with your wife when her name’s tattooed on your butt cheek. #squats #gainz #laseraway,” he hilariously captioned a photo of the tattoo.

Duff, meanwhile, wrote in the comments section of the post, “Finest tiniest booty around #youstucknowboy.”

The couple marked their fifth wedding anniversary on Dec. 21, 2024. In an Instagram post, Duff called Koma her “best friend” and the “best daddy” while sharing photos of their family at a rock climbing gym and at a ski resort getaway.

In turn, Koma shared a collection of black-and-white wedding photos, reflecting on all they have together as a married couple in the caption.

“As I lay next to you in bed, purely exhausted after our third consecutive 14 hour day of taking our 4 kids skiing — I feel like the luckiest. You chose me to do the impossible with. And as we navigate through the truly IN IT years, I think the most exciting thing is knowing on the other side of this, we get each other,” Koma wrote.

“You’re my favorite person to do absolutely anything and everything with. And I know that may sound underwhelming considering my inability to tolerate the majority of humans, but you light this grinch up in a way that forces me to fully submit and coast closer to the #LiveLaughLove sun than I ever thought possible,” he added.

The Lizzie McGuire actress and her musician husband recently spent Mother’s Day surrounded by their four children, and Duff shared a series of photos on Instagram of sweet family moments.

“Trying to put into words how grateful I am for all that this life has afforded me is a sincere challenge – honestly thankful for my camera roll for capturing and reminding me of all the moments big and small that get swallowed up by the next and the next – it seems life is on the autobahn – what a ride,” she wrote.

Hilary Duff is sharing a hilarious behind-the-scenes moment with her husband Matthew Koma.

On Monday, Aug. 4, Duff, 37, posted a video on her Instagram Stories in which Koma, 38, lounges on a chair while wearing a white cutoff tank top with a green “Newport” logo on it. He paired the look with a green baseball cap that read “3M Automotive” and black shorts.

“Pretty cool that you’re still wearing your shirt that you performed in yesterday at sweaty Lollapalooza and you flew home in, and you’re well into this day. Also having a pretty intense nip slip right now,” Duff narrated as Koma scrolled on his phone.

Koma chimed in, “You had sex with me in this shirt. What’s that say about you?” to which Duff laughed.

The Winnetka Bowling League lead singer took the stage at the Chicago music festival on Aug. 2.

The couple first met in 2013, but did not enter a relationship until 2017. They tied the knot two years later, and share children Banks Violet, Mae James, and Townes Meadow. Duff also shares son Luca Cruz with ex-husband Mike Comrie.

 

 

The family regularly share updates on their little ones. On Father’s Day 2025, Duff celebrated Koma with an Instagram video post featuring their sweet family moments with their kids.

“Remember when you said you wanted kids by 35?? Tricked you! Happy Father’s Day to the cutest and the best — we will keep you forever,” she wrote in the caption.

 

In the video, Koma is seen styling his daughter’s hair. The proud dad previously shared a sweet tribute to Duff in December 2024 in honor of the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary.
