Cindy Crawford’s only son, Presley Gerber, reportedly died from a drug overdose while in a California rehab facility.
Sources told TMZ on Monday that Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, were told their son’s death was a result of an overdose.
At the time of his death, the model was living with several people in a sober house on the grounds of the center in the Los Angeles area.
According to the US Sun, both police and fire departments responded to the addiction treatment facility, where they “attempted life-saving measures.”
The outlet reported that “no foul play is suspected” and confirmed that Gerber’s death is “currently being investigated as an overdose.” It’s unclear if Narcan was administered.

TMZ reported that his family was told he suffered a fatal drug overdose.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office later confirmed that “the investigation is still ongoing and there is limited information available.” However, “death was pronounced at 09:45 hours on Sept. 20, 2026, by responding paramedics. The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency.”
On Sunday, Page Six confirmed that Presley had died at an undisclosed rehab center. He was 27.
Following news of his tragic death, the Gerber-Crawford family asked for “privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
Presley followed in his mom and sister Kaia Gerber’s footsteps when he signed with IMG Models at just 15. He made his runway debut a year later at the Moschino resort show in Los Angeles.
It was also at that time that he began struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

At the age of 19, he was arrested for DUI after being pulled over for speeding in Beverly Hills, California, in December 2018.
He reportedly smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test at the scene.
“Presley Gerber was arrested and released on his own recognizance and no bail was posted,” his attorney, Scott Spindel, told us.
“Presley Gerber has no criminal record and has never been arrested. Presley Gerber takes this very seriously and is taking the steps necessary to address the allegations.”
The medical examiner’s office confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His parents, Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford, asked for privacy as they mourn their only son.
Presley had been open about his struggles with addiction.
He got a “misunderstood” tattoo on his face in 2020, which he later removed.
He pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge and was sentenced to three years of probation, community service and a DUI program.

Amid criticism, he said in an Instagram Live, “If I thought this was going to ruin my face or I didn’t want this, I wouldn’t have done it. I think that’s a pretty obvious thing.”
“It says ‘misunderstood,’ because that’s how I felt my entire life,” he added.
However, he seemed to regret the decision soon after and underwent laser treatment to remove the ink a year later.
By 2023, the model opened up about his struggles with mental health, specifically noting that he wanted to help others who were in the same boat.
“I’ve seen a lot of stuff and I’ve learned a lot of things,” he said on an episode of the “Studio 22” podcast.
“What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made.”
Presley was signed as a model at the age of 15.
He followed in the footsteps of his mom and sister Kaia Gerber (all four seen here in 2007).
He later added, “Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.”
Presley also insisted that he’d spent “a lot” of time in therapy trying to “look into myself” over the years.
“That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body — it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.”
In December 2025, Presley revealed he was suffering from prescription medication dependency after seeing over 15 different psychiatrists who allegedly heavily medicated him without giving him a structured recovery plan.
Presley was arrested for DUI in 2019.
His sister, Kaia, praised him for his openness in a recent interview.
“We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” she told Vogue in an August 2026 interview.
That same month, he confirmed he was five months sober from alcohol, noting his last drink was in July 2025.
His 25-year-old sister, Kaia, opened up about how his addiction had affected their family and their parents keeping their kids’ lives “very, very private and didn’t share anything.”
“We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” she told Vogue in an interview last month.
“And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them,” she added.
Kaia also noted that “when something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” adding that she had to “self-identify as the easy [child] and never wanted to ask for help.”
“Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing,” she explained.
Before his untimely death, Presley — who was last seen publicly with his parents in June — talked about the unusual ways he was trying to beat his addiction.
Taking to Instagram in March, he shared footage of himself at a wellness clinic in Cancún, Mexico, taking the psychedelic ibogaine in a ritual ceremony.
“Letting go of control didn’t come easy, but I trusted there was something bigger than me guiding it. I knew why I was there,” he captioned the video. “I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, i started finding my way back to myself.”
In March 2026, Presley shared a video of himself getting an unusual treatment to beat his addictions.
