Ellen DeGeneres Wishes ‘Boyfriend’ Tayt Goodbye … After He Dies at 19

Ellen DeGeneres shares a heartfelt tribute to Tayt Andersen– a young boy born with only half his heart — after he passed away on Friday.

The former talk show host shared a video on Instagram in which she expresses her grief at Tayt’s death and sends condolences to his mother, Chrissy Becker … calling him a very special guest.

Fans will remember Tayt as a little boy who called Ellen his “girlfriend” … and, Ellen called him her “boyfriend” in return — which she jokes came as a shock to her wife, Portia de Rossi.

Ellen says Tayt brought joy and laughter to every room into which he walked … adding he will be dearly missed.

The video then shows a compilation of Tayt’s appearances on the show … detailing his health difficulties and showing the bond between himself, his mother and Ellen.

It’s a heartbreaking watch … and, it’s clear Ellen got emotional just talking about Tayt. She wrote in the caption, “I love you Tayt. I love you Chrissy. You touched so many lives.”

Tayt’s family released a statement to both his Instagram and to Chrissy’s this morning … writing Tayt was “released from his bodily prison early this morning, at 1:30 a.m. CT, surrounded by the fierce love of his family.”

The statement explains Tayt took a turn for the worse last weekend … and, they spent much of Thursday calling family and friends so they could say goodbye to him before watching his favorite movies and reading his favorite books.

Tayt was 19 years old.

Ellen DeGeneres may no longer live in California, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have some legal issues in the Golden State … the comedian is facing a new lawsuit involving an alleged car crash in her former town.

In new court documents obtained by TMZ … a driver claims Ellen ran a stop sign and hit another female driver in a vehicle dust-up that took place in October 2023.

Per the lawsuit, the woman was driving her Tesla in Santa Barbara County when she approached an intersection with stop signs posted in all directions. She says she stopped at her stop sign, and even made sure to check for oncoming traffic.

She says she was proceeding through the intersection when, without warning, her Tesla was t-boned by Ellen’s car … and claims she was injured in the process.

The woman alleges the former daytime host entered the intersection without stopping for the posted signage, so now ED is being sued for negligence. She’s seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

Ellen has faced a string of controversies in the last few years … including toxic workplace allegations, her fallout with Rosie O’Donnell, and more.

She recently relocated to the United Kingdom after claiming she was “kicked out of show business for being mean.”

Ellen DeGeneres Sued for Negligence After Allegedly Running Stop Sign, T-Boning Driver

The former talk show host allegedly ran through an intersection “suddenly and without any warning,” the lawsuit claims

Ellen DeGeneres is accused of causing a 2023 collision in California, according to a new lawsuit.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, a woman is claiming that on Oct. 16, 2023, the former talk show host, 67, ignored a stop sign while driving in Santa Barbara County, and as a result, “t-boned” the woman’s car. TMZ was first to report on Friday, Sept. 12.

PEOPLE did not immediately receive a response from attorneys for DeGeneres or the plaintiff.

According to the lawsuit, the “intersection [where the incident occurred] is controlled by stop signs in all directions.”

The plaintiff claims she stopped for her stop sign and “made sure there were no other vehicles” present before driving forward; however, DeGeneres allegedly “suddenly and without any warning” collided into her vehicle and “t-boned” her, thus causing injury to the plaintiff.

“Ellen DeGeneres entered the intersection without stopping at the stop sign,” the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit further accuses the comedian of exhibiting “negligent conduct [that] fell below the standard of care of a reasonable person,” adding that DeGeneres “negligently caused, or contributed to causing plaintiff’s vehicle to be collided with by the defendants’ vehicle.”

Additionally, the woman says she has suffered “multiple serious personal injuries and damages” as a result.

The woman alleges she has also suffered wage loss and accrued hospital and medical expenses, among other costs, as well as “loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress and anxiety.”

She is suing DeGeneres for general negligence and an undisclosed amount of compensatory damages.
