Lady’s story is proof that you can, indeed, love your way into a forever home.

This stray Pittie captivated the hearts of the Memphis community just by being the friendliest girl ever! When kind volunteers found her hanging in front of a local store, she welcomed them with a nice tail wag.

Despite being stray, Lady acted as if she had lived her whole life with a family. She was well-mannered, socialized, and simply adorable. But, when the volunteers discovered her full story through inquiries, they were left stunned.

The Sweetest Companion

Josh and his colleagues at All 4s Rescue League, Memphis, Tennessee, thought Lady was just a regular stray dog roaming the streets. However, they soon found out that this lovely girl had a whole plan worked out.

She spent days following a little girl as if she had chosen her favorite hooman, and now she stuck close to her.

During the wait, Lady lay comfortably on the ground, greeting the passersby. And, she absolutely had some love for Josh, too!

“We came across this sweet girl that had followed her friend to the store. Y’all, she loved Josh!! Ohhh she curled up with him, just a sweet heart,” the rescue wrote on Facebook.

Josh couldn’t help but spare a few minutes to take a selfie with Lady and engage in a cuddle session. Lady was so sweet, and she enjoyed pats and belly rubs so much.

The rescuers then reached out to the girl’s family, wanting to find out more about this unexpected “stalker.”

Unexpected Home

As it turned out, everything began when Lady first followed the girl home, initiating the bond that eventually resulted in regular visits. Eventually, the girl’s parents started to take care of Lady and made her a permanent member of the family.

Their relationship was pure love. The dog was so affectionate from the first moment that she even cuddled her way inside a house. It only took Lady days to convince everyone to let her in, making the adoption official.

Ever since then, this once-stray dog has been with her new hoomans and her new brother, another young Pittie named Diesel.

When the rescuers saw Lady enjoying her new home, they couldn’t be happier. They even offered to provide vaccination for both pups, as the family needed some financial assistance.

The mom said that she would definitely love to keep Lady in the future, but she needed some records to show animal control.

“The momma is willing to keep her if we spay her and vaccinate so that she has records to show animal control,” the rescue added.

That day, both Lady and her new brother got their first shots. And, they even put Lady on the list for low-cost spay surgery.

They did everything they could to make this dog’s stay at a forever home as easy and comfortable as possible. 

Given how much Lady and her new doggo and human siblings love each other, it would be absolutely devastating to watch them part ways. So, the rescue did everything it could to prevent that.

“The kiddos love them both and have fun in the yard playing. Now they are obsessed with teaching them to sit. That’s the spark of a new bond,” Memphis rescue stated.

Today, Lady, Diesel, and their family enjoy a life filled with adventures and laughter, and they couldn’t be happier!
