Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming posted a sweet video of the “Die Hard” star as he continues to battle aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

Another photo showed Willis, 69, helping one of their daughters with their golf swing and another of him enjoying a teacup ride with Mabel.

In March 2022, all of the actor’s family, including his ex-wife Demi Moore, and their three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30 released a statement explaining that the actor was battling aphasia, a condition characterized by difficulty expressing and understanding language.

The following year, they shared that the “Pulp Fiction” star had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

“Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces,” their February 2023 statement read. “While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

Earlier this month, Moore, 62, admitted in an interview that she wouldn’t wish her ex’s condition “upon anyone,” adding that his struggles were “very difficult.”

In March, Heming Willis posted a tribute to Willis and their marriage to her Instagram page.

“Today marks our 15th wedding anniversary! And today, I can make a choice. I can wallow in sorrow or I can celebrate it. I call this the ‘remarkable reframe.’ What I know is there is so much to celebrate. Our union and connection is probably stronger than ever,” she wrote.

“We have two bright, fun and healthy daughters. We have a family unit that is built on mutual respect and admiration. And simply, I just love and adore the man I married. I’m so proud of what we have and continue to create. So, happy crystal anniversary to us! 💞” she added.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Aphasia “is a disorder that affects how you communicate. It can impact your speech, as well as the way you write and understand both spoken and written language.”

“Aphasia usually happens suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. But it can also come on gradually from a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes progressive, permanent damage (degenerative). The severity of aphasia depends on a number of things, including the cause and the extent of the brain damage,” Mayo Clinic notes.

On Thanksgiving Day, the “Die Hard” franchise star’s daughters Tallulah and Scout Willis, who he shares with Demi Moore, posted heartfelt Instagram photos on Thursday. In the snaps, Willis, 69, held a nameplate that said “Best Dad Ever” surrounded by his daughters on a couch.

The sisters, who posted the photos jointly, captioned the post “Grateful.” Willis and Moore’s eldest daughter Rumer Willis, the actress and “Dancing with the Stars” alum, was not pictured in the photos.

In March 2022, the family announced Willis would retire from acting amid an aphasia diagnosis. About a year later, in February 2023, they announced a health update for fans, telling Willis’ followers he had been diagnosed with dementia.

A message posted on the Instagram accounts of wife Emma Heming Willis, ex-wife Moore and daughter Rumer Willis stated: “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.”

They continued: “Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”

His frontotemporal dementia diagnosis is a brain disorder caused by degeneration of the brain’s frontal lobe.

In a personal essay for Vogue magazine published last year, Tallulah Willis said that she had “known that something was wrong for a long time” even before her father was diagnosed.

“It started out with a kind of vague unresponsiveness, which the family chalked up to Hollywood hearing loss: ‘Speak up! ‘Die Hard’ messed with Dad’s ears,'” Tallullah Willis wrote. “Later that unresponsiveness broadened, and I sometimes took it personally.”

Fans rushed to the comments section to thank Tallulah and Scout for sharing the sweet snaps. “My dad is the same age as yours and he too has FTD. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of you story. It helps feel less lonely on this journey. Sending love and prayers to your family every day,” one person wrote.

Another said, “Pure love. Holding your precious family in light and love.” A third fan commented, “I feel like this family really has mastered the true meaning of unconditional love it’s such a beautiful thing to witness! May god fill your days with more of this.”

Someone else gushed, “I am grateful for these photos of your wonderful father, a man with a beautiful soul and heart. Thank you for sharing this with his fans who love him and remember him.”

Bruce is currently being cared for by his family following his dementia diagnosis, which his family revealed to fans in 2023. The actor’s wife Emma Heming Willis recently spoke about her husband’s health.

“This disease is misdiagnosed, it’s missed, it’s misunderstood, so finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what frontotemporal dementia is and I could educate our children,” Emma told Town and Country magazine.

She added, “I’ve never tried to sugarcoat anything for them. They’ve grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I’m not trying to shield them from it.” Emma and Bruce share two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.

Emma said she’s preparing her children for the reality that “daddy’s not going to get better”. She explained, “What I learned from our therapist was that if children ask questions, they’re ready to know the answer. If we could see that Bruce was struggling, I would address it with the kids so they could understand, but this disease is chronic, progressive, and terminal. There is no cure. Obviously, I don’t like to speak about the terminal side of this with them, nor have they asked. They know that Daddy’s not going to get better.”

The sighting comes just days after Willis’ ex-wife, Demi Moore — with whom he shares daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30 — gave an update on the actor’s condition at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival, where she was honored with the Career Achievement in Acting Award.

“You know, I’ve said this before. The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is. But for where he’s at, he’s stable,” Moore, 61, said, per People.

“What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at. When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game, but when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.”

The statement continued: “Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead. As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research.”

Earlier this month, the “Pulp Fiction” star’s daughter Tallulah gave an update on how she was coping with her dad’s condition in an Instagram post.

“Hey I love this guy so much and feeling feelings is tough stuff, but I’m so grateful to let them flow through me now instead of disconnecting from it!” Tallulah captioned a carousel of photos which included some throwback snaps.

Willis is now married to Emma Hemming, with whom he shares daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
