After Taylor Swift tied the knot in style, sources say that rival Kim Kardashian has plans to outdo the pop star with her own blockbuster wedding

Already dubbed the celebrity event of the year, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding saw a host of A-list stars gather at Madison Square Garden to celebrate the lavish occasion. And now, sources tell Closer that rival Kim Kardashian wants to wed boyfriend Lewis Hamilton in an even bigger ceremony in a bid to top the singer’s special day.

‘Things with Lewis are going really well, and it’s got serious. Kim doesn’t want to jump the gun, but she has got marriage in her sights again,’ an insider reveals. ‘Seeing Taylor’s grand wedding to Travis has really made her think about what her next wedding could look like.

‘She’s not set a date for when she would ask Lewis to marry her, but she has been thinking about making it one of the most epic nuptials of all time. She loves the idea of having it at the Miami International Autodrome, which can hold up to 275,000 fans when they have races there.’

Pop star Taylor, 36, married three-time Super Bowl champion Travis, also Kim’s a regular at F1 races with Lewis, 36, in front of more than 1,000 guests on 3 July. The A-list crowd, which included pals Gigi Hadid, Hugh Grant and Jennifer Lopez, were driven in blacked-out SUVs to the ceremony at the famous arena.

The singer, who got engaged to Travis in August 2025, also had 1,000 orange roses shipped in from Italy to transform the venue into an ‘enchanted forest’. Taylor wore a Christian Dior Haute Couture gown – the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity – paired with custom-made Christian Louboutin shoes, while the wedding was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler.

Kim, 45, has a notoriously rocky history with Taylor. Their bitter feud peaked in 2016 when Kim’s ex-husband, Kanye West, released his track Famous, which took direct jabs at the singer. Kim then claimed Taylor knew about the lyrics all along, infamously leaking an edited phone call of the pair discussing the track before its release. Opening up about the fallout with Kim and Kanye, Taylor admitted it felt like ‘career death’.

Now, our source says Taylor’s headline-making nuptials have sparked some jealousy in Kim. ‘As soon as Kim saw all the hoopla surrounding Taylor’s wedding, it brought out the green-eyed monster in her,’ our insider continues. ‘She was straight on the phone to her mom, Kris, who suggested she could “one-up” Taylor to do something even bigger.

‘Kim’s even thought about doing it in the UK at Silverstone Circuit, where they hold the British Grand Prix. She’s loving being in the racing world and seeing huge global stars like Adele attend with her son. Of course, she would love to have people like Adele at the wedding, and other big stars that have attended F1 races in recent years, like Tom Cruise and Serena Williams. Kim has been speaking to her longtime event planner, Mindy Weiss, about how she would go about putting the spectacle together.’

Kim and British F1 superstar Lewis, 41, first sparked dating rumours in February, and things have been going from strength to strength ever since, with Kim supporting him at the Monaco Grand Prix last month.

However, some pals are worried she’s jumping the gun with her lavish wedding plans. ‘Her sisters have warned her she’s moving too fast and that it could scare a waiting list that goes on for years,’ the insider says.

‘She’s not telling Lewis about any of it yet – although they have been discussing Taylor and Travis’ big day because it’s been everywhere and so far, Kim gets the sense that Lewis would want something grand and on the world stage.’

Kim is no stranger to walking down the aisle, having already said ‘I do’ three times – including an elopement with Damon Thomas when she was just 19 and an infamous 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries. But it was her 2014 nuptials to rapper Kanye that set the standard for celebrity extravagance. The multi-million-pound celebration began with a lavish pre-wedding event at The Palace of Versailles in France before guests were flown to Florence, Italy, for the ceremony.

‘Her last wedding to Kanye was huge and had the world watching. It was a glorious destination wedding in Italy, but it was very much Kanye’s vision she felt at the time, and with that all in the past, she has decided that she would like to get married again,’ our source adds.

‘It’s hard not to feel that in some way it’s resurrected the feud between her and Taylor – Kim’s pals can tell that it has lit a fire in her. It’s no secret that Kim and her family love the spotlight and attention, and seeing what a huge event Taylor’s big day became has really spurred Kim on to get things going with Lewis and to do something even bigger.’
