Arbor, a dog with special needs, didn’t have an easy start. Arbor is a result of hoard breeding situation. He was born in a place with too many dogs and not enough care, he also had a medical condition called congenital hydrocephalus.

Despite his challenges, Arbor’s life changed for the better when he was rescued by a group called “I Stand With My Pack.” Catherine Dagel, a kind woman who followed the rescue group, felt a special connection when she saw Arbor. She knew right away that he was meant to be her dog. She flew to Los Angeles to meet him, and it was clear they belonged together. Catherine then drove him all the way to her home in Oregon.

In Oregon, Arbor found happiness and love. He had a peculiar way of walking in large right circles, which his family called “twinkle taps,” but this never slowed him down. He loved running around the house, especially when Catherine came home, showing his joy with a big smile and wagging tail.

Arbor was more than just a pet; he was a true friend to Catherine. On days when Catherine felt down, Arbor seemed to know. He would come over, rest his head on her, and just be there for her, helping her feel better.

Adjusting for Arbor

Catherine made sure Arbor had everything he needed. Since walking like other dogs was hard for him, she got him a special stroller. This way, Arbor could still go out, hear new sounds, and smell new things without any trouble. Also, because Arbor couldn’t drink water on his own, Catherine had to mix water into his food to make sure he stayed hydrated.

Seeing how strong and happy Arbor remained despite his problems inspired Catherine even more. She decided to become a veterinarian so she could help other animals just like Arbor.

Catherine doesn’t feel sad about Arbor’s challenges. Instead, she feels thankful every day for his presence in her life. She believes Arbor is a brave and strong soul who teaches her about love and happiness every day.
