Elsie Hewitt—who welcomed her first baby, Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, with Pete Davidson Dec. 12—offered insight into her first days as a mom, explaining why the new arrival has her emotional.
Elsie Hewitt’s first foray into motherhood is off to a heartwarming start.
Days after welcoming her first baby with Pete Davidson—a girl named Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson—Dec. 12, the model shared an emotional reflection on becoming a parent as she marveled at her growing family.
“To all the moms,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories Dec. 20, “do u also just sit and stare at your baby and cry at how much you love them and can’t believe it’s yours and that your body made this perfect thing and u don’t even know how to handle how in love u are so u just start crying.”
Elsie, 29, has seemingly been riding a wave of emotions since giving birth earlier this month. In fact, she dubbed Scottie “our perfect angel girl” as she shared the news of the little one’s arrival Dec. 18.
“My best work yet,” she wrote in an Instagram post alongside several photos of herself and Pete, 32, with their newborn. “I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.”
And life as a mom has already thrown Elsie at least one curveball. She revealed on her Instagram Stories Dec. 18 that she underwent an oral procedure one day after Scottie was born, sharing a selfie of herself in an SUV with medical gauze wrapped around her swollen face as she clutched her daughter’s car seat.
Alongside the pic, Elsie wrote, “Who else had to get a wisdom tooth removed directly from hospital the day after they gave birth.”
Fortunately, Pete and Elsie—who confirmed their romance in March—have been gearing up for all the highs and lows of family life for quite some time. In fact, Pete told E! News in July he was “very, very happy” about becoming a dad, explaining that he was eager to “take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have.”
“I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have,” he continued, “and what you didn’t like, not do it.”
