“I’m calling it the ‘Miracle on 34th Street’, maybe just a little earlier, we had an infant that was reported anonymously at the 34th Street station, when the FDNY and police department responded, they found a baby that was unattended,” New York City Transit President Demetrius Crichlow said.
Authorities have not made any arrests in the matter, and it wasn’t immediately clear if the abandonment was captured on surveillance camera footage.

- The baby was miraculously unharmed and her weight was confirmed as six pounds
A newborn baby has been found alive inside a toilet tank in Bangkok, Thailand.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, a cleaner was working on the third floor of an office building in the Lat Krabang district of the Thai capital when they heard the cries of a baby, according to The Bangkok Post.
After entering the toilet, the worker lifted the lid of the toilet tank — which was half-filled with water — and found the infant inside.
The baby, believed to have been put inside the container not long after being born, reportedly had no clothes on, while her hands had gone pale and shriveled from being submerged in the water, per The Metro. The outlet added that authorities arrived at the scene at around 11:00 a.m.
The newborn was transported to the Sirindhorn Hospital, according to The Metro. While The Bangkok Post notes that she was initially in a “critical” condition, she was later confirmed as “unharmed” and weighing six pounds.
PEOPLE has contacted the Lat Krabang Police Station for comment, but didn’t immediately receive a response.
In a video shared by Newsflare, the little girl could be seen wrapped in white blankets as she lay peacefully in a crib in the hospital.
Police Captain Kritsada Saikhong of Lat Krabang Police Station said in a statement that the girl was under 1 day old, as reported by The Sun.

“She was a newborn but there was no sign of the mother,” Saikhong said. “We will proceed with the investigation to find who left the baby girl in the toilet. Officers are checking CCTV cameras to establish who was in the building and who used the bathroom.”
If found guilty of abandonment under Thai Penal Code Section 306, the child’s parents could face up to three years in prison and a fine of up to 6,000 baht ($185).
