It’s Elizabeth Banks’ time to shine.

For Tuesday’s Aug. 13 premiere of her latest movie, Skincare, the actress, 50, stepped out in New York City wearing a silver cowl neck sequin dress. Her mini dress included a variety of sequins that increased in size toward the bottom and she topped her look off with a pair of black tights and an oversized black blazer.

Banks accessorized with a pair of black pointed-toe pumps and a silver baguette bag that seamlessly blended in with her dress. She kept her hair in a loose, wavy blowout while her makeup brought the drama with dark purple lipstick and soft pink-hued eyeshadow.

The actress was also seen in the same sparkling ensemble when she served as a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday. But for that appearance, she kept her blazer off, directing all eyes to the shimmery dress.

In Skincare, Banks plays a celebrity aesthetician named Hope Goldman who’s on top of her game until she’s rocked by a scandal when her email is hacked — seemingly by a rival aesthetician who just moved to town.

The movie also stars Lewis Pullman, who plays Hope’s friend Jordan, as well as Luis Gerardo Méndez, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and Nathan Fillion. Austin Peters directed Skincare from a script he wrote with Sam Freilich and Deering Regan.

While Skincare is a fictional story, some of it is actually based in truth. Former aesthetician-to-the-stars Dawn DaLuise was acquitted of involvement in a murder-for-hire plot after being arrested in 2014. (DaLuise has said she is considering legal action against the film.)

Going into the project, Banks said she wasn’t aware of DaLuise’s story.

“I didn’t know it at all. I had never heard about it. I was just all in on Hope Goldman and this character and the sort of milieu of L.A.,” she told Entertainment Weekly in July.

The Hunger Games alum said her inspiration for the role came from a facialist named Matty whom she used to see in real life.

“She was very much this Hope Goldman character in my mind, in that she had her own little place on 3rd Street in L.A., and she was recommended to me by an agent — Johnny Depp’s agent — who said, ‘Well, Johnny went to Matty,’ and listed other clients who had gone to Matty.”

“So when I read the script, that’s what I was thinking,” she continued. “I was like, ‘I’m going to base it on Matty.’ “

Skincare is in theaters Aug. 16.
