Meghan Markle erupts over Prince Harry’s latest secret: ‘fuming’
Meghan Markle fuming over Prince Harry’s ‘flirty’ tests, the reason will surprise you
Meghan Markle is reportedly avoiding dropping anymore bombshells in public but that has not held her back from gushing over the loving relationship she shared with her husband Prince Harry.

The two have endearments for one another but with new revelations that came out during a lawsuit, Meghan was left particularly peeved about a blast from the past.
Meghan, who proudly refers to her husband Harry as ‘H’ was not happy to find out that she wasn’t the only one calling him that.
Harry’s phone hacking case against the Daily Mail publisher, which is awaiting its verdict, unearthed Facebook messages that he sent to journalist Charlotte Griffiths. The two appeared cosy in their chat as Harry called Charlotte “sugar” and “missed their movie snuggles”.

The messages were from around 2011, which was a long time ago, and it is not something Meghan should be worried about.
However, there is one thing that is bothering her, which she is apparently having a hard time coming to terms with, sources have claimed.
“What may also peeve Meghan is the fact that Harry initially introduced himself on a message to Charlotte as ‘H’ – the nickname she has publicly called him several times, most likely believing it to be a pet name between them,” an insider told Closer.
“All these text messages that just got dredged up didn’t help matters, either,” they added. “Even though it all happened before Harry even met Meghan, everyone knows she didn’t take it well and it’s made for some very uncomfortable conversations, to say the least.”
Publishing Industry Fed Up with Harry and Meghan
Multiple sources within the publishing world indicate that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are demanding additional payments for the memoir “Spare.”

The Scoop reports that CEOs at publisher Penguin Random House frequently receive communications from the Harry and Meghan camp. The sole issue being raised is the request for further payouts, despite the publisher already spending millions of dollars on them.
Harry reportedly received $20 million for his 2023 blockbuster memoir, Spare. However, the Duke of Sussex believes they deserve more.
Frustration with the Sussexes
A publishing industry insider revealed: “CEOs at Penguin Random House receive calls almost weekly from the Sussex side demanding more money. They think there should be more royalties, but in reality, there aren’t. Penguin paid such a massive initial sum that, with marketing costs, printing, and various other expenses, even with the book selling millions of copies, Penguin has yet to fully recoup its investment.”
Spare broke records by selling 3.2 million copies globally in its first week and is currently believed to have sold over 6 million copies. According to Guinness World Records, Spare has become the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time.

One publishing insider stated: “Penguin Random House has terminated its partnership with the Sussexes. They will never publish another book from this couple again. The publisher has suffered financial losses.”
Another publishing CEO suggested the Duke of Sussex does not grasp the business situation. “Harry has absolutely no concept of money and does not understand that money can run out.”
The couple’s $20 million deal with Spotify ended in 2023 after only one season of Meghan’s Archetypes podcast was released.
A second season of the podcast Confessions of a Female Founder with new partner Lemonada Media has also yet to be produced, despite reports surfacing in 2025.
Netflix has also halted its agreement with Meghan and her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Meanwhile, Meghan’s book proposals have failed to attract interest. The publishing world has rejected at least two of her ideas regarding book launches related to leadership roles and philanthropy.
Many insiders feel the Sussexes are “tiresome” and unable to come up with any ideas for subsequent books.

Speculation over a Harry-Meghan Divorce
The publishing industry has also discussed the idea of a divorce book from Meghan.
According to an article in Vanity Fair magazine in January 2025, there is “a rumor circulating in publishing circles.” “Meghan’s team has spoken with a publisher to gauge interest in the idea of releasing a book about life after divorce.”
However, the magazine wrote that “there has been no written proposal or official information.”
This idea also remains purely theoretical. “There isn’t actually [a divorce] in progress!” Vanity Fair noted.
A source close to the Sussexes dismissed the divorce speculation at the time. The individual told Page Six that “Meghan and Harry are bonded together and their value lies in the fact that they are a couple. Even if they wanted to split up, they couldn’t do it.”
Harry and Meghan’s demand for ‘privacy’ rings ever more hollow
The fiercely protective Duke and Duchess appear to be turning private family moments into promotional tools

This Easter delivered exactly that as Meghan shared a fresh batch of footage appearing to show (we never see their full faces) six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet enjoying classic holiday fun at home in California. One clip captured the children racing across the lawn during a lively egg hunt, with Lilibet dressed in a pink dress and bunny ears, clutching a plush toy rabbit. Another showed Archie intently decorating Easter eggs, while additional scenes included feeding the chickens and gathering eggs from the coop. The videos were polished, warm and seemingly wholesome.
It all looks touching: a sweet window into family life. But scratch beneath the curated charm and does a deeper cynicism emerge? Here are parents who repeatedly insist on fiercely protecting their children’s privacy, yet are apparently deploying them as promotional tools. By filming from behind or the side and refusing to show their faces, the Sussexes seem to believe they have struck a clever compromise. Critics, however, see it as another marketing tool.

The contradiction is glaring. Whatever happened to the “quiet life” the couple once craved when they stepped back from royal duties and relocated to California? Instead of retreating from the spotlight, they seem addicted to it, using carefully edited snippets of their family life to generate buzz. They might argue that because faces remain hidden, no real invasion of privacy occurs. But surely posting any footage at all turns private family moments into public content, especially if timed to coincide with slow news cycles?
It feels particularly hollow coming from Harry, who has spoken at length about the trauma of his own childhood being exploited by the media. “My connection to privacy, and the lack of it, begins in a different place than most. From birth,” he once declared. He and Meghan might claim they are simply reclaiming control, choosing what to share rather than leaving it to the paparazzi. Yet using young Archie and Lilibet as props, however gently framed, surely risks a version of the very commodification Harry once railed against. Once children enter the public domain, even in blurred or partial form, the appetite for more only grows. True privacy would mean no videos at all.
Meghan Markle makes a radical decision to avoid offending Kate Middleton and William
Meghan Markle may give up writing her memoirs, according to The Mirror. This choice would be aimed at not overshadowing the British monarchy. But then, does this decision mark an outstretched hand towards Kate Middleton and Prince William?
Meghan Markle gives up lucrative project to preserve the monarchy
The Duchess of Sussex has been receiving numerous publishing contract offers of late. These offers follow the success of Prince Harry’s memoir, The Substitute. However, Archie and Lilibet’s mother has not responded to these solicitations.
According to a source quoted by The Mirror, the couple now adopt a cautious attitude. The Sussex couple are careful to respect the traditions of the monarchy. After the controversy surrounding Prince Harry’s book, they don’t want to add fuel to the fire.
“Meghan and Harry are very careful in their words and actions in order to respect the traditions of the monarchy. This kind of project doesn’t suit them.”

Creative control limits the possibilities
A source close to the couple told OK! Magazine that the Sussexes are keen to retain creative control over their projects. They demand a final say on every piece of content. This strict framework reduces the options available to publishers.
This approach reflects their desire not to offend the royal family. The staff who work with them are well aware of these constraints. This change in strategy has raised questions among observers of the British crown.
Could Kate Middleton be eclipsed by Meghan Markle in the UK?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living in the United States since 2020. Yet they could be returning to the UK together soon. The Duke of Sussex will be in Birmingham next July for the Invictus Games, of which he is the creator.
For this trip, the father of the family could be accompanied by his wife. This visit depends, among other things, on obtaining automatic security. If confirmed, this visit promises to be closely followed by the media.
- Meghan Markle has received lucrative offers for her memoirs
- The Sussex couple want to respect the traditions of the monarchy
- Prince Harry will be in Birmingham in July for the Invictus Games
- Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand is a financial success
- Kate Middleton embodies elegant style and impeccable attitude
Last January, The Times suggested that the Princess of Wales could be relegated to the background. The paper emphasized Kate Middleton‘s elegant style and impeccable attitude. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, appears more spontaneous and warm-hearted.
Meghan Markle, an accomplished businesswoman

Beyond a simple aesthetic comparison, the Duchess’s self-entrepreneurial side is attracting attention. Meghan Markle has made a name for herself with her jam and wine brand, As Ever. This project represents a financial success for the former actress.
She has also made a name for herself on Netflix with her own lifestyle and cooking series. So it’s as a true businesswoman that she could return to the UK. Her image now goes beyond that of a simple “woman of”.
A media rivalry between the two duchesses
The Princess of Wales remains a central figure in the British monarchy. Her elegance and poise make her a much-loved icon. Kate Middleton embodies a certain idea of traditional royalty.
Meghan Markle, on the other hand, has built her image on independence and entrepreneurship. This difference in posture fuels comparisons between the two women. The British tabloids closely follow every development in this dynamic.
Meghan Markle’s potential return to the UK therefore raises many questions. Will Prince Harry’s wife be able to protect the royal sensibilities? The future of her relationship with Kate Middleton and Prince William remains uncertain.

- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were stepping down as senior royals in January 2020.
- The couple relocated to Montecito, California three months later.
- Though relations are strained, Harry hopes to one day reconcile with his father King Charles.
In the six years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s historic departure from the British royal family, much has changed for both the couple and the Firm. Stateside, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been busy producing podcasts, documentaries, and TV shows, not to mention Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever. Over in the U.K., meanwhile, King Charles continues to deal with his younger brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor‘s dramatic fall from grace.

But let’s rewind to the early days of 2020, when Harry and Meghan made the bombshell announcement that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family. The news came on the heels of an ITV documentary about the duo in which the Duchess said she was “not really okay.” The couple officially relocated to Montecito, California that March. Three years later, Prince Harry’s memoir Spare all but finalized their royal exit.
“After Spare, [Harry and Meghan] realized, ‘Okay, we’re ready to move on. We want to focus on our future,’” a friend of the family later told Us Weekly. “‘We can have meaning and importance separate from the lives we had previously.’”

Though the Duke has made several attempts at reconciliation since then, tensions remain high between Harry, his older brother, Prince William, and their father, King Charles. Indeed, the latter’s former butler Grant Harrold admitted that it is unclear whether or not the monarch and his heir will ever be able to trust the Duke of Sussex again, especially after the aforementioned release of Spare.
Ahead, a full timeline of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the British royal family and where things stand six years after their initial exit in 2020.
November 2019: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle go on a six week hiatus from royal duties.
Following the release of a new ITV documentary in which Markle admitted she was “not really okay,” the couple announced they would take a six-week break from royal duties, which included skipping the annual family Christmas at Sandringham and spending the holidays in Canada. At that point, Markle was roughly six months postpartum and under near constant scrutiny by the British tabloids.
January 8, 2020: The couple announce they are stepping down as senior royals.
In a bombshell announcement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their hiatus permanent by stepping down as senior royals for good. The couple shared the news with the public via Instagram.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” they said in a statement. “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. “

The Queen was joined by her son, then-Prince Charles, and his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, for a 90-minute meeting to discuss the Sussexes departure. “Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family,” she wrote in rare statement following the meeting, which later became known as the Sandringham Summit.
“My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” she continued. “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”
Following the meeting, the Queen announced that the couple would begin a “one-year probational period,” after which they would revisit the agreement.

With their permanent departure on the horizon, the couple made time for three final royal engagements: the Endeavor Fund Awards, the Mountbatten Festival of Music, and the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. They attended the latter event alongside Kate Middleton and Prince William, after which they posted a final goodbye to the public on Instagram.
“While you may not see us here, the work continues,” the caption read in part. “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!”
March 2020: The family moves into Tyler Perry’s home in L.A.
After a short stint in Canada, Harry, Markle, and baby Archie officially relocated to California in part thanks to friend Tyler Perry, who loaned the family his house in Beverly Hills. “This is what Meghan and Harry have always wanted—to create their own life,” a royal insider told People at the time. “It’s got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the U.K. and go down their own path.”
February 19, 2021: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decline to return to the U.K. as working royals.
With their one-year probational period coming to a close and baby number two on the way, the couple announced they would not return to their former roles as senior members of the royal family. In response, Buckingham Palace released a short statement: “While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family,” it read.

In their first interview since leaving the royal family, the Duke and Duchess held nothing back. During their conversation, the pair spoke about Meghan’s mental health struggles and accused the royals of racism, citing a particular instance where one member asked how “dark” Archie’s skin color might be.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” Buckingham Palace said in response to the interview. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
It concluded, “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
July 2020: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle move to Montecito.
The couple opted for a $14 million nine-bedroom mansion built in 2003 with coastal sea views. As for the neighborhood? “They were craving a smaller community and a slower pace—Montecito is very mellow, a charming little town and the Santa Barbara [area] offers an ideal lifestyle that they’re looking forward to,” a source close to the couple told People.
June 2022: The couple returns to the U.K. for the Queen’s Jubilee.

The Duke and Duchess reunited with the royal family in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which marked the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne on February 6, 1952. It was Markle’s first time back in the U.K. since March 2020.

The Duke and Duchess made an unexpected second visit to the U.K. later that year for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Attending alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton, the two couples put on a “show of unity” and even left in the same car despite the brothers’s ongoing royal rift.
December 8, 2022: The couple release a Netflix docuseries.
Following the success of their tell-all interview with Oprah, the Duke and Duchess revealed even more information about their experience with the royal family in a new docuseries titled Harry & Meghan. In episode two, Harry went so far as to blame Markle’s 2020 miscarriage on the British tabloid the Daily Mail.
“I believe my wife suffered a miscarriage because of what the Mail did,” he said. “I watched the whole thing. Now do we absolutely know that the miscarriage was created caused by that? Of course, we don’t.”
He went on, “[But] bearing in mind the stress that caused the lack of sleep and the timing of the pregnancy, how many weeks in she was, I can say from what I saw, that miscarriage was created by what they were trying to do to her.”
January 2023: Prince Harry sits down for another interview.
Speaking with ITV News while promoting Spare, Prince Harry considered whether or not he would attend the coronation of his father, King Charles. “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then,” Harry said. “But, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it.”
The next month, a source told People that Charles did, in fact, hope that his son would attend. “It is such a momentous occasion for Charles, and he would want his son to be at the coronation to witness it. He would like to have Harry back in the family,” the source said. “If they don’t sort it out, it will always be part of the King’s reign and how he has left his family disjointed. He has had a reputation as a distant parent, and it would be awful for him for that to continue.”
March 1, 2023: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are evicted from Frogmore Cottage.
Royal author Tom Quinn called the eviction a “slap in the face” and “the last straw.” Later, royal expert Omid Scobie wrote in his book Endgame that Princess Anne was the one who “persuaded” King Charles to pull the trigger and kick the couple out.
“Harry was absolutely furious and in tears about being evicted from Frogmore,” Quinn added. “He felt his father had no right to do it and that it was purely vindictive. Harry couldn’t see that choosing to stop being a working royal would inevitably mean being deprived of his royal residence. Harry took it as a cruel rejection.”

The Duke’s visit was short and sweet. He returned home to California shortly after King Charles and Queen Camilla were crowned. “I am delighted that Prince Harry was there,” former royal press secretary Colleen Harris told People. “He would have personally regretted it if he wasn’t there to support his father. Speaking as a mother, [I believe] it was the right thing . . . and the King [was] delighted.”
September 2024: Prince Harry changes his official residence.
Prince Harry’s departure from the royal family in 2020 had a new note of finality at the end of September when the Duke of Sussex submitted paperwork pertaining to his travel company, Travalyst. The forms officially switched his formal residence from the U.K. to the U.S., seemingly putting an end to rumors that the Duke may have been eyeing a return to the U.K. Moreover, the forms dated the end of Prince Harry’s U.K. residency to June 29, 2023—which was, of course, the day of the couple’s eviction from Frogmore Cottage.
“As always with Harry a lot can be read into his actions. Being ousted from Frogmore Cottage wounded him deeply,” royal commentator Phil Dampier told the Mirror. “Charles and William knew it had to be done to emphasize Harry and Meghan were outside The Firm but he probably still thought he could keep a base here. Now he’s shown he accepts his life is in the U.S.”
September 2025: Prince Harry and King Charles have an “emotional” reunion.
Prince Harry saw his father for the first time in 19 months when the duo sat down for tea in September 2025. The reunion was reportedly “emotional,” according to a source who spoke to Us Weekly. The insider added that there were “lots of hugs and tears.”
“The meeting was sparked by a handwritten letter from Harry earlier this year to Charles expressing his desire to reconnect,” the source explained. “They were not sure it was going to happen until just in the last week…they really missed each other.”
Subsequent reports also revealed that Charles made it “absolutely clear” that his youngest son could not be a part-time royal. Harry, for his part, told reporters at a reception for the Invictus Games that his father was doing “great,” thus breaking his silence in the aftermath of their reunion.
January 2026: King Charles prepares for a trip to the U.S.

Following the announcement that King Charles would pay a visit to the U.S. in April 2026, royals fans immediately began speculating as to whether or not the monarch would spend time with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the couple’s two children. Royal biographer Robert Jobson said a reunion was unlikely, however.
“There will be no detour [from Washington, D.C. to Montecito],” he wrote for Hello!. Nor will Harry and family likely visit the King in D.C. for “a discreet meeting in Washington,” as “their presence would dominate headlines, eclipsing the state visit.”
“So, for that reason, it remains improbable,” Jobson concluded.

A former employee of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently issued a blunt warning: brace for “more videos of the children”.
The royal insider painted a clear picture. Harry and Meghan are growing increasingly desperate to cling to the headlines, and at this point, Archie and Lilibet are “all they have left”.
After the explosive drama of Megxit, the headline-grabbing Oprah interview, the glossy Netflix deal, the best-selling memoir Spare, the jam-selling venture and their selective forays into philanthropy, the couple’s arsenal of fresh content has run dangerously dry. What remains is the careful drip-feed from their self-styled Montecito paradise – tantalising glimpses presumably designed to keep the public hooked.
