“The Morning Show” star addressed the things that make her anxious, revealing she repeatedly skipped a prestigious event because of her nerves. The confession followed her reflection on the competitive nature of the entertainment industry.

Jennifer Aniston, who refuses to be labeled a Nepo Baby, is the daughter of Greek-born actor John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow. She rose to fame for her role as Rachel Green on the hit sitcom “Friends,” earning multiple awards for her performance.

Aniston joined her co-stars from “The Morning Show” in a joint interview as the cover models for Glamour’s September issue. During the discussion, the actress was asked about her repeated absences from the Met Gala, sparking a vulnerable response.

The Hollywood veteran confessed that she had been invited to the annual event but never attended due to her nerves. “It overwhelms me. It’s the getting ready, the putting on the dress. I’m a ‘jeans and flip-flops and tank top’ kind of girl,” she explained.

“I even get a little anxious about public speaking, especially over the years of having your words twisted and taken out of context. So I find myself almost hall-monitoring myself in a weird way,” Aniston continued. She noted her nervousness stemmed from cruel journalism, especially in the past.

According to Aniston, journalism in the past was “gnarly” because reporters wanted to find “something that they can then run forever.” Dealing with such tactics used to make her wary of her comments, but not anymore.

Aniston noted that working on the show taught her more about herself and the power women could have in the industry. “I absolutely love producing and being that involved from the ground up in creating something that’s really high quality,” she raved.
