There are days when you just want to hang out with your favorite person without a camera in your face. Sterling Newton, the famous Golden Retriever, is currently going through something similar in this video by @lifeofsterlingnewton. He is usually the sweetest little boy, but in this new reel, he is actually done with his mom and her intrusive ways. He is trying to have some quality time with his dad on the couch, but mom keeps trampling on his personal space.

The video starts with the Golden Retriever sitting right in front of his dad, paw resting on his hand. It is clear he is expecting some undivided attention. But then the dog realizes his mom is filming. He puts his paw down in slow motion, and then gives her the ultimate “stink eye.” It’s like he can’t believe she would dare to disturb him. Dad tries to save the day with some neck scritches. He is trying to distract him from the paparazzi, but Sterling is not having it.

He looks off into the distance. It’s like he is lamenting the lack of privacy. This breed is famous for being “velcro dogs” who need constant touch. So, when he finally gets it, he doesn’t want any outside interference. Maybe the Golden still holds a grudge against mom from the time she denied him chicken nuggets after his last vet visit. He definitely doesn’t want that negative energy in this blissful state.

As soon as the scratching stops, Sterling tries to grab dad’s hand again. However, he keeps glancing at the camera like a grumpy teenager. The dog looks totally disgusted with everything at once.

As of the time of writing, the video has over 9.4k likes because people relate to the struggle. One person even told mom to go drink some gin somewhere else. Another joked that she was ruining the moment. Mom is probably going to have to win him back with some treats later. But for now, Sterling is making it clear he is unhappy.

This video of the Golden Retriever puppy is pure attitude because he has some very loud demands for his mom. Tiffany probably didn’t think she was signing up for this when she brought him home, but like she says, “here we are.” Benji is an AKC pup with a lot of opinions and orders, and when he wants something, he starts barking. Loudly. If you think about it, it is actually hilarious how much authority he thinks he has.

The clip opens right in the middle of a bark, and we see Benji perched on the cushions. He is looking right at his pet parent. In fact, the dog is glaring at her like he is waiting for a service. Mom, who is filming the whole thing from the same couch, asks him if he is seriously barking for her to pick up the stuffy.

She moves the camera to show a toy lying there on the floor, right by the coffee table. And that’s when he barks again, a couple of times this time. Like he is saying yes. The Golden gives her this look as if she is being slow. It is pure entitlement, as his mom calls it in the caption.

Golden Retriever puppies usually are people pleasers, but Benji clearly missed that memo. He wants his mom to do the work, and he is not going to keep quiet about it either. Eventually, mom gives in as she grunts and gets up. She picks up the toy and hands it back, and Benji takes it instantly.

He starts playing with it like he didn’t just cause a whole scene. The video has over 300 likes, as of the time of writing. One person said they think Tiffany is just living in his house now. Another viewer warned that it doesn’t get better with age. He is probably planning his next big order already. Maybe a treat. Or a better spot on the bed. It’s just life with a tiny CEO.
