It is hard to grasp how many dogs are hurt by the very people who were supposed to care for them.

Rosie knew that kind of pain well. She was gentle, loving, and always reaching for affection, only to be pushed aside again and again.

Her time with a backyard breeder came to an end the moment she was no longer considered useful. After that, she was abandoned in a park, cast aside without a second thought.

Even carrying all that hurt, Rosie did not let go of hope.

When Good Samaritans spotted Rosie alone in the park, her poor condition was immediately apparent. She was dirty, undernourished, and clearly neglected.

They rushed her to Agoura Animal Care Center in Los Angeles, California, before transferring her to Malibu Coast Animal Hospital for urgent medical attention. 

Doctors discovered that Rosie’s teeth were severely worn and that she suffered from painful skin and ear infections, requiring prompt medication to begin her recovery.

At the shelter, a devoted volunteer named Tamy met Rosie. Touched by the dog’s plight, she decided to foster her and help her regain trust and health.

Learning Love And Safety In Her Foster Home

Arriving at Tamy’s home, Rosie was uncertain of what to expect. Yet Tamy, her husband, and their three children immediately showered her with gentle words, constant care, and calm affection.

For the first time, Rosie began to feel safe. She pressed close to her foster family, relishing every moment of comfort and tenderness. 

Despite the pain and rejection she had endured, Rosie revealed herself to be entirely loving.

Whenever she sought reassurance, Rosie nestled against her foster mom, silently asking for cuddles. She melted into Tamy’s touch, her eyes reflecting relief and gratitude.

But when the petting ended, Rosie could not contain her distress, crying as she longed for the comfort to continue.

Rosie Finds Her Forever Home And Purpose

It quickly became clear to Tamy and her family that Rosie could not leave their lives. They officially adopted her, granting her the loving home she had always deserved.

Rosie’s joy was palpable. She now had love, family, and a sense of purpose. She even helps welcome new foster dogs into the household, offering them the same comfort and reassurance she once needed.

“I needed someone to heal my heart and she needed someone to give her some assurance and to teach her that it’s okay to trust now. We’re very bonded. I always tell her how much I love her, and I tell her she can’t go anywhere. She has to be with me forever,” Tamy told GeoBeats Animals.

Although Rosie captivates everyone she meets, some remain hesitant because of her breed, not recognizing the treasure she truly is.

Tamy continues to be amazed by Rosie’s capacity for love.

“She amazes me every single day… We think that her mission in life is to put a smile on everybody and to spread love ‘cause that’s all she has,” Tamy added.

Today, Rosie enjoys her dream life in California, basking in sunshine, leisurely walks, and sharing sweet moments on her Instagram account.
