“I know there is a Holy Spirit that sits high in the kingdom of heaven,” the singer said in a social media post. “I’ve been there I’ve felt it.”

KEY POINT:
In a new social media post, Britney Spears says she “failed as a mother” because her son believes in “science” instead of God.
The singer also lashed out at her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, on social media.
“I was brainwashed into an ignorant system where every goddamn person took advantage of me,” she wrote.
Britney Spears has poured her heart out in a new social media post, lamenting “mistakes” she’s made as a mother as well as her own “demoralizing” relationship with her parents.
The pop star began her stream of consciousness with an old photo of her now-adult sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, when she claims “they were secretly taken to a beach by my mom and dad” as children.
“I wondered why I wasn’t a part of their cool secret outings,” Spears wrote. “I felt demoralized to live in a country where it was accepted for people like my mom and dad to live secret lives with my children… I honestly went to my knees and cried for two months.”

Fast-forward to the present, the singer recounted a conversation last week with one of her sons, saying, “it was all science he didn’t personally believe in God.”
Spears, who prays “every day of my f–-ing life,” was devastated by the revelation. “In that moment I believed I had failed as a mother because I know there is a Holy Spirit that sits high in the kingdom of heaven … I’ve been there I’ve felt it … I wanna to tell my kids and people in general that I’m sorry for my mistakes in the past.”

As a child star on the Mickey Mouse Club and later a teen pop idol, “I never got to be me, the real Spears,” explained the Kentwood, La., native.
“I used to be unbelievably intelligent and 100 percent I was brainwashed into an ignorant system where every goddamn person took advantage of me,” she continued in her post. “I miss the excitement in my eyes being alive when I was younger, always so eager to please and hungry for life. I was unbelievably passionate about everything.”

Earlier in her multi-page post, Spears described an alleged incident, seemingly after she had achieved fame, when her father Jamie Spears prohibited her from going to “a diner ever again to eat a hamburger with a new extremely cool friend” because it caught the attention of the paparazzi.
“I was never allowed to see my friend again or go out to old fashioned hamburger diners,” she claimed. “If you know me I love food.”
Spears concluded her post by mourning that she’ll “never get those years back.” However, she was proud of herself for bringing it up “because it’s honestly unbelievably sad.”
Representatives for Britney, Jamie, and Lynne Spears did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.
