According to Page Six, a judge has dismissed the majority of Blake Lively’s allegations against Justin Baldoni, including sexual harassment. This development significantly alters the landscape of the ongoing legal battle between the two parties.
The news outlet revealed that on April 2 (local time), U.S. Federal Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed 10 out of 13 counts brought by Blake Lively against Justin Baldoni. These dismissed allegations included sexual harassment, defamation, and conspiracy. Currently, only three of the actress’s claims are permitted to move forward: breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting retaliation. The next court hearing is scheduled for May 18.

Justin Baldoni and his legal team stated they are thrilled that the judge dismissed most of Blake Lively’s allegations against the actor and the associated individuals. “These are very serious allegations, and we are grateful to the court for its thorough review of the case, the law, and the extensive body of evidence considered. We look forward to presenting our defense against the remaining claims in court,” Baldoni’s attorney told Page Six.
Meanwhile, Blake Lively’s attorney emphasized to the outlet that the sexual harassment claim was dismissed not because the defendants did nothing wrong, but because the court determined Lively was an independent contractor rather than an employee.

“This case has always been, and will continue to be, focused on the severe retaliation and the extraordinary steps the defendants took to destroy Blake Lively’s reputation because she spoke out about safety on set. And that is exactly what will be presented at trial,” a statement from Ryan Reynolds’ wife’s legal team clarified.
The team also noted that Lively looks forward to testifying at trial and continuing to shine a light on toxic forms of online retaliation, making them easier to identify and combat.
The legal warfare between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni stems from their collaboration on the film It Ends With Us (released in 2024). In the film, the actress played the female lead, while Baldoni served as both the male lead and the director. Lively subsequently accused Baldoni of sexual harassment during the time they were filming. In December 2024, she officially filed a lawsuit against her co-star, claiming damages of approximately $161 million due to a smear campaign targeted at her during the film’s release in August of that same year.
Justin Baldoni denied the allegations against him and sued Blake Lively along with her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, seeking $400 million in damages in January 2025. That lawsuit was ultimately dismissed in June 2025. However, Bryan Freedman—the attorney for the Jane the Virgin star—told Page Six at the time that their legal battle with Lively was not over and that his client “chose not to amend the complaint to preserve the right to appeal.” At that time, he emphasized that they were focusing on Lively’s allegations and stated that he and his associates remained fully committed to pursuing the truth through all available legal and factual avenues.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni last faced each other at a mediation session in New York on February 11. That mediation session was unsuccessful.
