Viewers rushed to social media to raise concerns about Hanks’ health, with one fan writing, “Is Tom Hanks’ hand shaking?”

Another added, “I also noticed it!!! And now I am concerned,” while a third wrote, “Is Tom Hanks ok?”

“He was on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ a while back and I noticed it there too,” another fan wrote, while a fifth jumped to the actor’s defense, writing, “Considering he’s almost 70! Yeah older people hands tends to shake a little.”

The Post has reached out to Hanks’ reps for comment.

It’s not the first time the actor’s trembling hands have sparked fan concerns on social media.

In June 2022, a video showing Hanks’ hands shaking onstage during the Australian premiere of “Elvis” went viral on social media.

In the video footage, the Hollywood star’s hands were seen trembling as he appeared to struggle to keep a steady hold on a microphone.

Hanks — who went public with his Type 2 diabetes diagnosis in 2013 — moved the mike back and forth between his shaking hands before attempting to hold the device with both hands as he spoke to the audience.

However, fans flocked to social media at the time to shut down speculation about the actor’s health.

“He’s still one of the best actors left … his health is his business,” one fan wrote on X.

Another fan added that the star’s unsteady hands could likely be due to his diabetes and shouldn’t be cause for alarm.

“He’s diabetic. This happens to my mom when she gets low blood sugar,” they wrote.

Hanks went public with his diabetes diagnosis during an interview on the “Late Show With David Letterman” back in 2013.

“I went to the doctor and he said, ‘You know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been dealing with since you were 36?’” Hanks said at the time. “‘Well, you graduated! You’ve got Type 2 diabetes, young man.’”

In a later interview with the Radio Times, Hanks said he was a “total idiot” about his self-care prior to the diagnosis.

“I’m part of the lazy American generation that has blindly kept dancing through the party and now finds ourselves with a malady,” he said. “I was heavy. You’ve seen me in movies, you know what I looked like. I was a total idiot. I thought I could avoid it by removing the buns from my cheeseburgers.”

Tom Hanks has become one of the most beloved actors in the world since the 1980s, with memorable performances in films such as “Splash“, “Bachelor Party” and “Big“.

For four decades, the films of the two-time Oscar winner for his performances in “Philadelphia” and “Forrest Gump“, have been some of the highest-grossing films of their time.

But now, at 68 years old, the actor’s appearance has left his fans worried, after a memorable appearance on the Saturday Night Live program.

Tom Hanks’ appearance alongside several SNL legends

Hanks was present at the iconic show that celebrates its 50th anniversary and did so alongside other great acting figures such as Marty Short, Tuna Fey, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, Paul Rudd, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and John Mulaney.

During his appearance, several of his fans noticed the “Saving Private Ryan” actor’s trembling hands, which has sparked a series of debates on social media.

“Is Tom Hanks’ hand shaking?” commented one fan on SNL’s official Instagram account, while another commented: “I noticed that too! And now I’m worried.” “He was on the Graham Norton show a while ago and I noticed it there too…” posted one more.

While it is true that these health problems are probably related to his age, it is not the first time that the actor’s health has been commented on, especially because of the trembling of his hands.

It is worth remembering that a couple of years ago, while promoting the movie “Elvis“, Hanks could not control his right hand while holding a microphone.

What disease does Tom Hanks suffer from?

And it was precisely a couple of years ago when Hanks revealed that he suffered from type 2 diabetes, which alters the way the body uses glucose in the blood.

The generation of the disease is still unknown, but it can occur due to a number of generic factors, mainly affecting people who are overweight, obese and have hypertension, which can lead to problems with heart disease, as well as damaging the nerves and causing a delicate kidney problem.

All about Tom Hanks’ family: 4 kids, 3 grandkids … and longtime wife Rita Wilson

“I made every mistake,” Hanks said about raising his kids.

Moviegoers may jokingly refer to Tom Hanks as “America’s Dad,” but is Hanks as easygoing, thoughtful and supportive as the fathers he plays on screen?

“I made every mistake,” Hanks admitted in October 2024 on iHeartPodcasts “On Purpose with Jay Shetty.” Hanks, who is a child of divorced parents, said, “You scar the kids somehow in the same exact way (that you were scarred).”

Hanks shares son Colin Hanks and daughter Elizabeth Hanks with his first wife, Samantha Lewes. He also is father to sons Chet Hanks, and Truman Hanks whom he raised with longtime wife Rita Wilson.

On the same podcast, Hanks said how surprised he is by “how different they all are. They are not the same type of human being ever.”

Colin Hanks (Nov. 24, 1977)

Oldest son Colin was born to Tom and first wife Samantha Lewes on Nov. 24, 1977.

“My son Colin was born when I was very young. As well as my daughter, but that means we have this gestalt understanding because they remember when their dad was just a guy trying to, you know, make the rent,” Tom told the New York Times in 2019.

Colin has the longest acting resume of any of his siblings. He has appeared in “Vacation,” “The House Bunny” and “Roswell.” In 2014, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role as Gus Grimley in “Fargo.”

Colin and his wife, publicist Samantha Bryant, have two children: Olivia Jane, born in 2011, and Charlotte Bryant, born in 2013.

During a 2022 appearance on TODAY, Colin discussed Tom and current wife Rita Wilson in their roles as grandparents. “It would be great if they paid attention to the kids’ bedtime,” Colin quipped, noting that they give the kids “a lot of sugar.”

“They need like good ugly sweater vests,” Colin continued. “Like if they both had those and just some glasses and complained about the temperature, I think we’d be good.”

Elizabeth Hanks (May 17, 1982)

Elizabeth Hanks is the only one of Tom’s children who has not pursued acting as a profession, though she did appear as an extra in “Forrest Gump” and “That Thing You Do!”

Instead, she started writing and has published work in TIME magazine, The Guardian, The New York Times and The Washington Post.

Elizabeth is set to publish her first novel this April as “E.A. Hanks.”

Titled “The 10,” the memoir follows Elizabeth on a road trip through the southwest to better understand her late mother.

Chester “Chet” Hanks (Aug. 4, 1990)

Chet Hanks is the oldest child of Tom and longtime wife Rita Wilson.

He is currently making waves playing Travis Bugg in the Netflix series “Running Point.” He was also featured in “Empire” and “Shameless.” In addition to acting, Chet also has a personal training company.

Chet announced that he had a daughter Michaiah with ex Tiffany Miles in 2016. He credits fatherhood and his parents for helping him become sober.

On the lighter side, Chet occasionally acts as a pop culture interpreter for his father.

In May 2024, Tom texted Chet with a request to explain the Kendrick Lamar/Drake feud. Tom replied to his son’s lengthy explanation: “Holy cow! These are fighting words. People are taking sides?? Who’s winning??”

Chet, who had already answered all of those questions in his message, felt compelled to call his dad out on social media.

Truman Hanks (Dec. 26, 1995)

Though he seems more comfortable behind the scenes, Truman appeared in 2022’s “A Man Called Otto” as the younger version of his father’s character. Rita Wilson produced the movie.

People reported that Tom joked about working with his son at a screening of the movie. “The good news is that I looked like him when I was 26. The bad news is he’s gonna look like me in another 40 years,” he said. “He is just going to have to deal with that.”

Truman has worked on other movies, like “Black Widow” and “West Side Story” — but behind the camera rather than onscreen
