It’s always heartbreaking to see struggling stray dogs living in the worst conditions. You can just see in their eyes that they feel heartbroken and hopeless.

This sweet pup was in the same boat. She was dumped by her owners despite the fact that she was pregnant and was going to give birth soon.

She struggled on her own as she was left near a road in Alabama, but there wasn’t much she could do. Her troubles would end when a group of kind rescuers saw her and rushed to help.

They Were Just In Time

After the rescuers came to the scene, they were appalled by the state she was in. She looked like she was going to give birth at any moment.

They had to act fast. The kind people transported her into the car and then drove to the shelter. After helping her settle in, they did an X-ray just to be 100% sure she was pregnant.

Some of them asked around about the dog and they learned from other people who lived nearby that she was abandoned and just stayed in the same spot for days.

It is truly horrible to think that she could have given birth in the middle of nowhere. Who knows what would have happened to her babies?

Luckily, she is safe now, and her rescuers will make sure she is really comfortable before giving birth.

She looked so grateful to her rescuers for this opportunity. The dog, now named Lotus, was finally able to relax for a little bit.

Eight Adorable Puppies

Soon after she was taken into the shelter, she gave birth to eight sweet puppies. Just as they came into this world, their mom showed just how great she was.

Lotus has been taking care of them from the first moment and is constantly watching them. It was hard, but she had the best help she could ask for.

The babies were so adorable and were changing with every day. They would spend most of their days napping with Lotus at their side.

Eventually, they would start moving around and playing. This was amazing progress. They were healthy, and things were going great.

Even when moving, their mom is never far away and is always watching their every step. With time, they would become even more hyperactive.

They were not used to this new world, and they wanted to explore everything. This was beautiful to watch.

The rescuers decided to name all the puppies. They were called: Chrysanthemum, Tansy, Portulaca, Lantana, Cosmos, Lupin, Yarrow, and Agapanthus.

A Beautiful New Home

As things were changing so fast, their rescuers realized it was time to find them all a new home in Alabama. They were placed on an adoption list.

It should come as no surprise that all eight of the puppies were adopted and found absolutely amazing families.

As for their mom, it took a little longer, but everyone was pretty determined to find someone special for her. 

After all, she was the one who endured so much for the sake of her babies and has helped give them all an amazing life.

Some time passed, and Lotus was also adopted. She is now living in her forever home. The rescuers were a bit sad they left but happy that they were all doing great. It’s so heartwarming to see them all so happy.
