Shelter Dog on Limited Time Becomes a Life Worth Fighting For

In the middle of a crowded Los Angeles kennel, a very special girl named Rosy was waiting for a miracle. Rita, a volunteer who posts at @rita_earl_blackwell, just shared a video that shows why giving a shelter dog another chance is so worth the effort. The shelter scheduled Rosy for euthanasia simply because the building was too full. It is a heartbreaking reality, but luckily for this 73-pound sweetheart, help was already on the way from the desert. She went from counting down her final hours to sniffing the fresh air of a brand-new future.

The footage starts with Rosy and her friend Dennis standing up against the kennel bars. They are wagging their tails and looking hopeful for a greeting or even a walk. We get to know their story over this sweet clip of the kennelmates. Tragically, Dennis lost his life yesterday after 20 days at the facility.

This reality makes the arrival of the Morongo Basin Humane Society even more powerful. We see a lady finally sit down at Rosy’s level to really see her, know her. And Rosy, for her part, seemed to recognize the shift in energy immediately.

Rosy is a five-year-old mixed breed who is likely house-trained and very social. When the Volunteer leads her out of the building and towards the car, Rosy greets her rescuer with a gentle chin-nuzzle and steady tail wags.

The Joshua Tree No-Kill shelter, Morongo Basin Humane Society, drove all the way out to make this happen. Watching her in the car, ready to start her new chapter, is the ultimate triumph. She is leaving behind a crowded life for one filled with runs and sunshine. Her easy-going nature really shines through during her exit.

The rescue did not stop with just one lucky girl. They also fell in love with Grandpa Copper and a little one named Goldie. Now all three are heading to a place where they have all the time they need. Seeing three lives saved in one trip is a big win. This shelter dog and her new friends are finally safe from the kill list. Fans in the comments are already sending so much love to everyone involved in the rescue.
