The president is being heard from—but he has not been photographed for 72 hours.
President Donald Trump, 79, is set to emerge in public for the first time in three days amid concerns that he’s unraveling behind closed doors.
The last time the president was seen in public was Saturday morning, April 18, at the White House, where he signed an executive order directing regulators to speed up the review of psychedelic treatments.
Later that day, he visited his golf club in Virginia, but the typically camera-seeking president stayed entirely behind closed doors for the rest of the weekend and on Monday.
Instead he peppered reporters with phone calls and posted or reposted repeatedly, more than 50 times since Saturday morning, on his Truth Social platform.
It comes as critics have raised the alarms about Trump’s increasingly erratic behavior, from his threatening posts to apparent confusion over Iran talks.

The president is set to make his first public appearance in more than three days on Tuesday afternoon at the White House, where he’ll deliver remarks to the NCAA collegiate national champions.
Since the president’s last appearance on Saturday morning, he’s fired off a series of angry social media posts taking aim at Iran, Democrats, NATO allies, Apple, promoting election conspiracy theories, and more.
At the same time, he exhibited signs of confusion in a series of phone interviews on Sunday and Monday.
First, the president told ABC News that Vice President JD Vance would not participate in the next round of talks in Islamabad. His White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt almost immediately corrected him, stating that Vance was traveling for the talks.
On Monday, the confusion continued when Trump claimed Vance was in the air, only for the vice president to show up at the White House.
The president has also made a series of bizarre claims on Tuesday when he called into CNBC, where he argued he would have won the Vietnam War “very quickly” if he were president, despite dodging the draft. He also lied about inflation and rambled at length on a series of other subjects.

It comes after a series of former Trump supporters turned critics have called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked to remove Trump from office after he threatened to wipe out Iranian civilization and target civilian infrastructure with profanity-filled posts as he struggled to get a peace deal.
On Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was purposefully kept from the room recently as the U.S. military worked to rescue downed airmen from Iran after he screamed at aides for hours.
Frenzied Trump, 79, Fires Off Last-Minute All-Caps Plea in Morning Meltdown

Donald Trump fired off a frenzied all-caps Truth Social post begging voters to reject a redistricting plan and “SAVE YOUR COUNTRY” as the president continues to spiral out of control.
Trump, 79, made his latest unhinged outburst as Virginians headed to the polls to decide whether to approve a new congressional map drawn by state Democrats. It could hand their party a shot at flipping multiple U.S. House seats in November’s midterms and, with them, control of the chamber.
“VIRGINIA, VOTE ‘NO’ TO SAVE YOUR COUNTRY!” the president bellowed to his followers, offering no further explanation of how a state-level redistricting ballot held the fate of the nation in its hands.
Tuesday’s desperate plea is the latest episode in a visibly panicked stretch for the president, whom the Daily Beast reported had spent Monday dodging reporters’ cameras for a second straight day as he phoned into a Republican tele-rally to drum up opposition to the plan.
Virginia has become the latest flashpoint in a nationwide gerrymandering arms race that Trump himself kicked off last year when he pressed Texas Republicans to tear up their congressional map mid-decade to pad the GOP’s slim House majority.

His Texas move triggered copycat redraws in Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. Together, the four-state redraw could net Republicans up to nine additional House seats, according to the Associated Press. Democrats have counter-drawn in California and now Virginia, with a court-imposed map in Utah handing them a further seat.
Virginia’s congressional delegation currently tilts Democratic, six to five. The redrawn boundaries could flip that to 10-to-1 in the Dems’ favor—including one district that reaches out of heavily Democratic northern Virginia into conservative rural turf.
Former Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, 59, who preceded Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger, called the plan “dishonest” and “brazenly deceptive” at a Monday night rally, AP reported.

Democratic ad buys featuring former President Barack Obama, 64, have flooded Virginia airwaves in the campaign’s closing stretch.
But even if the amendment passes, it may not stick. The state Supreme Court is weighing whether Democratic lawmakers broke their own procedural rules in advancing the measure, after a circuit judge ruled they had.
The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for comment.
Frantic Trump, 79, Rages at ‘LOSERS’ in Late-Night Meltdown

President Donald Trump embarked on a social media rampage to convince the doubters that he’s winning his unpopular war on Iran.
The 79-year-old raged at news organizations that have reported the facts about the protracted conflict and bungled peace talks, labeling CNN and other networks “LOSERS.”
The source of the president’s chagrin was Operation Midnight Hammer, an attack on Iranian nuclear sites last year. He controversially used the term “obliterated” to describe the state of the sites post-attack. Sites including the Natanz Nuclear Complex, the Fordow site, the Esfahan Nuclear Complex, and Lavisan 2, were hit during the mission on June 22, but not totally destroyed.
Trump rolled out his favorite term again during a late-night Truth Social meltdown on Monday. “Operation Midnight Hammer was a complete and total obliteration of the Nuclear Dust sites in Iran,” he began, also using the term “dust” to describe nuclear-enriched uranium stocks left over after the joint operation with Israel. Enriched uranium is used for the cores of many nuclear weapons.

Iran’s nuclear capability has been Trump’s main justification for Operation Epic Fury, his war on Iran that started on Feb. 28 with joint U.S.-Israeli air strikes.
“Therefore, digging it out will be a long and difficult process. Fake News CNN, and other corrupt Media Networks and Platforms, fail to give our great aviators the credit they deserve – Always trying to demean and belittle – LOSERS!!!” he added.
His statement is contradictory. Whilst retrieving the “dust” will prove arduous, the operation did not “obliterate” the sites, according to analysis. For example, the Institute for Science and International Security, a respected non-governmental organization founded by a nuclear scientist, reported just days after the strikes that “there are residuals such as stocks of 60 percent, 20 percent, and 3-5 percent enriched uranium and the centrifuges manufactured but not yet installed at Natanz or Fordow.”
“These non-destroyed parts pose a threat as they can be used in the future to produce weapon-grade uranium,” the report stated.

Earlier on Monday, Trump insisted on Truth Social that he is “winning a War, BY A LOT,” and continued his attacks on the press.
“Things are going very well, our Military has been amazing and, if you read the Fake News, like The Failing New York Times, the absolutely horrendous and disgusting Wall Street Journal, or the now almost defunct, fortunately, Washington Post, you would actually think we are losing the War,” he moaned.
He claimed “the enemy is confused” by news reports. “The Anti-America Fake News Media is rooting for Iran to win, but it’s not going to happen, because I’m in charge! Just like these unpatriotic people used every ounce of their limited strength to fight me in the Election, they continue to do so with Iran. The result will be the same — It already is!” Trump added.
He had earlier turned his attention to his assertion that he would end the war within weeks. He had a suitable answer for that failure, too.
“They like to say that I promised 6 weeks to defeat Iran, and actually, from the Military standpoint, it was far faster than that, but I’m not going to let them rush the United States into making a Deal that is not as good as it could have been. I read the Fake News saying that I am under “pressure” to make a Deal. THIS IS NOT TRUE! I am under no pressure whatsoever, although, it will all happen, relatively quickly!” he ranted.
On the status of a deal, he offered no detailed updates, only stating that one was in the works and that it would be better than what previous presidents had achieved. “The DEAL that we are making with Iran will be FAR BETTER than the JCPOA, commonly referred to as ‘The Iran Nuclear Deal,’ penned by Barack Hussein Obama and Sleepy Joe Biden, one of the Worst Deals ever made having to do with the Security of our Country. It was a guaranteed Road to a Nuclear Weapon, which will not, and cannot, happen with the Deal we’re working on,” he said.
It remains unclear whether an Iranian delegation will go to Islamabad, Pakistan, for a second round of peace talks with the U.S. Having earlier ruled out participation, an Iranian official, speaking to Reuters on Tuesday, said Tehran was “positively reviewing” its participation in talks. However, they stressed that no decision has been reached.
The U.S.-Iran ceasefire expires on Wednesday.
