The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020 and moved to the US to pursue a career as a power couple.

However, it has not worked out that way for Sussexes, with setbacks including being dropped by Spotify and a backlash from many on their consistent public attacks on the Royal Family.

Over the last 12 months, the couple has changed tactics and gradually separated their projects with Prince Harry undertaking many solo public engagements.

The Sussexes are also working on separate projects for Netflix despite signing a lucrative deal as a couple after leaving the Royal Family.

Their debut series Harry & Meghan was a huge hit on the streaming platform and broke several Netflix records.

However, it has been over a year and a half since its release in December 2022 and the couple have not produced another joint project for Netflix.

Harry did release Heart of the Invictus in 2023 but it failed to reach the same level of success as their debut docuseries.

A source told the Mail: “They will still carry out some charitable engagements together and embark on foreign visits, but their work projects will be separate.”

The couple have toured both Nigeria and Colombia together in 2024.

Prince Harry is currently undertaking a series of solo engagements in New York this week.

Lady-in-waiting’s defiant words to her daughter after finding out Queen Elizabeth II was dying

The late Queen’s lady-in-waiting used defiant words when speaking to her daughter after finding out Queen Elizabeth II was dying.

India Hicks, the granddaughter of the late Lord Mountbatten, appeared on this week’s episode of The Royal Record podcast, where she discussed attending the late monarch’s funeral in 2022.

Hicks attended the funeral alongside her mother, Lady Pamela Hicks, who was a close confidante and a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II.

During the episode, Cameron Walker, GB News’s Royal Correspondent, asked Hicks: “They had a great relationship, your mother and the late Queen.

“You and Lady Pamela attended her funeral back in 2022.

“Can you remember hearing the news of the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II?”

Hicks responded: “Yes. I actually happened to be getting on a flight.

“I remember before the public news, we heard a mumbling that the Queen might have suffered a stroke.

“I called my mum the night before it was announced and I said, ‘It looks unlikely that she might survive this. Would you like me to come home and be with you?’

“And she said, ‘It’s the poor Queen who suffered the stroke. You must carry on.’

“Again, as always, my mum very much thinking of everybody else.”

Hicks also explained the “privilege” of being able to attend the late Queen’s funeral at Westminster Abbey.

She added: “But of course, then I had the very great privilege of accompanying my mother to both funerals, the one in London and the one at Windsor.

“It was particularly moving for me, obviously the extraordinary occasion, the beauty of it, the emotion of it – seeing our nation grieving for this extraordinary woman who has been our anchor for so many years.

“But for me, to see my mum really seeing a chapter close was very emotional.

“I remember at Windsor, which felt much more intimate, we were right in the front, and as that coffin passed us by, my mother held onto my arm, because those 95-year-old hips were struggling.

“She held onto my arm, but she went down into the deepest of curses, and she stayed down with her head bowed until that coffin had moved all the way past us.

“And only then did she come up. And I thought, that is a chapter closing.”

Sarah Ferguson heads to New York during Prince Harry’s week of engagements despite King Charles gesture

Sarah Ferguson has headed to New York during Prince Harry’s week of engagements despite her gesture towards King Charles.

The Duchess of York took to social media to announce she travelled to New York City for climate week, the same reason why the Duke of Sussex is currently visiting the city.

She wrote: “I have the pleasure of being in New York for this year’s Climate Week and want to bring you behind the scenes!

“It was so inspiring to meet so many motivated young people who are looking to make the future a much more positive place to be.

Prince Harry, 40, is also in New York to celebrate Climate Week.

He is undertaking a series of engagements to honour the legacy of his late mother, Princess Diana.

It comes as the Duchess of York previously cancelled her trip to Australia, due to take place in October, to not clash with King Charles’s royal tour.

A statement was released which read: “With regret, Sarah, Duchess of York has decided to withdraw from the Festival of Fiction, so as not to distract or detract in any way from the tour of Australia by His Majesty the King, which has recently been announced.

“Due to exceptional demand, she will be returning to Perth on November 1st at 6.30pm for a special event at Joondalup Resort and apologises to anyone who is inconvenienced by the change of date.”

Climate change is something incredibly close to Sarah’s heart, particularly as a grandmother.

She told the Telegraph last year: “Now, as I embark on a new phase of life as a grandmother to August, Sienna and Wolfie, my love for nature is translating into a sense of urgency about climate change and the environment.

“I feel strongly that my generation has a responsibility to hand a sustainable planet on to our grandchildren.”

The exciting trip to New York came just days after her granddaughter Sienna’s third birthday last week.
