Dogs love unconditionally, never expecting the same in return from their owners.
Yet, countless fur babies face the agony of abandonment, left behind by those they loved dearly.

One such devoted dog was left at an overpass, waiting endlessly for his owner to return.
His eyes scanned the horizon, holding onto the belief that his beloved owner would come back.
A Kind Soul Takes Action
One day, a passerby noticed the pup sitting on the overpass, looking sad and lonely.
After seeing the same scenario day after day, he recognized that the dog was waiting for someone.
When he learned that the dog had not moved from his spot for an entire month, his heart ached. Determined to help, he began bringing food to the pup.
However, the dog was cautious and hesitant, fleeing whenever the man approached.
Feeling that he needed to do something, the man continued his visits daily, slowly working to build trust with the timid dog.
Gradually, the pup started wagging his tail in response, though he still kept his distance.
By the fourth day, the dog seemed more at ease, but he remained hesitant.
Noticing that the pup was finally eating the food, he decided it was time to rescue the puppy.
When he touched the dog for the first time, the animal froze, gripped by fear.
A New Beginning for the Loyal Pup
The man gently picked up the trembling dog and took him to his home, hoping to win his trust and become his new family.
Upon arriving at his new home, the dog was overwhelmed with fear.
His eyes, once full of sorrow, were now cast downward as he refused to eat or drink.
The man remained patient, consistently leaving food for the dog and speaking to him softly, hoping to break through his fear.
A few days later, the dog began to wag his tail and secretly consume the food left for him.
Slowly but surely, the dog began to recognize the man’s kindness and began to trust him.
As he shed his fear, he was given the name Little Yellow.
Rediscovering Joy and Love
Hopeful eyes replaced the sadness on the dog’s once-adorable face. A smile now brightened Little Yellow’s expression.
Little Yellow’s desire to stay close to his owner was evident. Each time his dad returned home, Little Yellow was always sitting at the door, welcoming him.
He had forgotten his past owner and now is embracing his new life with love and affection.
The once-abandoned pup now thrived in the care of someone who adored him.
Three months after adopting Little Yellow, his new dad decided to revisit the overpass where they first met. Little Yellow paused, remembering the place where he was once left behind.
His dad embraced him, vowing that he would never face abandonment again.
Today, Little Yellow enjoys a joyful life, embarking on numerous adventures with his dad. Together, they create cherished memories.

After 432 Days in Shelter, Puppy Finally Finds the Loving Home He Deserved
Spinach arrived at Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) as a tiny puppy with a ruptured eye, and if the shelter hadn’t stepped in, his life would have ended there. After the removal of his injured eye, the sweet puppy began to feel much better, and those who cared for him hoped his adoption would follow soon.
But sadly, over 432 days passed, and Spinach was still waiting for the loving home he deserved.
A Puppy Full of Hope
When Spinach first came to the shelter, he was a playful and optimistic puppy. But after more than a year of waiting, his hope began to fade. Despite his weariness, the staff and volunteers who had grown fond of him couldn’t bear to see him give up.
“When he was in the playgroup, he was happy and joyful because he loved to play with other dogs,” said Frankie Helfey, an APA! Volunteer to The Dodo. “But then, you’d see him in his kennel, and it was heartbreaking. You could tell how sad he was. He wasn’t eating much or losing weight, and we had to get creative. For the last two months, I gave him 2-4 bowls of food each day to see what he might eat.”
The team at APA! Knew that Spinach needed to find a home as quickly as possible. They shared his story on social media, showcasing what an amazing dog he was—and, miraculously, it worked.
A family in Oklahoma saw Spinach’s story and decided to give him the home he had been waiting for. After a year of waiting, Spinach was finally on his way to his forever home.
A Happy Ending at Last
“There were many happy tears and some anxious moments as he made his way to Oklahoma,” Helfey shared. “We were cautious but hopeful. Sometimes, these dogs just need someone to give them a chance.”
Poor Rescue Dog Gives His Rescuers The Biggest Hug Ever
Mr. Snufflufugus is a five-year-old male that was recently abandoned and left on the streets in Texas to fend for himself.He was frightened and ran around the city of Copperas Cove, Texas, in hopes that someone would find him and help him.
The local animal control was contacted, and thankfully, the personnel was able to locate the poor dog and bring him to the Copperas Cove Animal Control shelter.
This adorable pup was so thankful for being rescued that he immediately hugged his new best friends, and everyone’s heart at the animal control shelter simply melted.
The staff member who was there noticed this touching moment and snapped a picture right away.
This picture quickly became viral, with people sharing it online and advocating for Mr. Snufflufugus to be adopted.
“Victoria and I were in the play area with Mr. Snufflufugus when he decided he needed a hug,” the animal control supervisor, Tamara Hall, told The Dodo.
They found out pretty soon that Mr. Snufflufugus was such a snuggle bug and enjoyed being hugged. Everyone at the shelter took an instant liking to this precious boy.
“If you are sitting on the floor or ground, he is sure to seek your attention by climbing into your lap or snuggling up next to you. He uses his irresistible sweet eyes while looking up for attention,” Hall also said.
Besides giving the best hugs, Mr. Snufflufugus is very friendly and enjoys resting.
Victoria wrote on her Facebook, “He would rather sit on the couch and be a potato, a good potato who gets many head scratches and gets to sit on your chest and snore, and is told quite often what a good boy he is.”
After the Copperas Cove Police Department posted the adorable photo of Mr. Snufflufugus, he became quite famous, and the animal control shelter received numerous applications for this good boi.
They wrote on their Facebook profile, “Thank you ALL for expressing interest in Mr. Snufflufugus and for sharing our post! We recently discovered that he needs to be in a single pet home, with no small children. While he is exceptionally affectionate, this could create a problem in a home where he becomes possessive of the adult owner.”
The small shelter unfortunately did not have enough assets to process all this, so Mr. Snufflufugus was transported to Pit Squad Rescue in Minnesota. Pit Squad will be able to interview all potential adopters and find the best home for this lovely dog.
He has to be treated for heartworm, which sadly comes with a hefty vet bill, but they are happy to give this sweet boy a second chance.

All stray dogs long to be loved and to have a roof over their heads. T-Rex was not the exception.When the eleven-month-old puppy ended up all alone in a grocery parking lot, all he could do was hope that someone would help him.
Once T-Rex spotted a kind-hearted person, he approached them as if begging them to take him off the streets.
The Good Samaritan called for help and T-Rex was admitted to Fulton County Animal Services, a shelter in Atlanta, Georgia.
The pup hoped that his life would change for the better. He couldn’t have known that bad things can happen even in shelters.
T-Rex Begs To Be Rescued
Upon arriving at the shelter, T-Rex was extremely scared. He wasn’t used to being in a noisy environment.
The shelter staff tried to make him feel better. After spending time with the puppy, they discovered that he was an adorable pup who was pure love.
He only needed a family to take him and give him all the cuddles he wished for.
Sadly, instead of a loving home and a forever human who would dote on him, T-Rex ended up on the euthanasia list.
The puppy clung to his favorite shelter worker as if he sensed what awaited him. He had a heartbreaking look on his face as he kept trying to hide behind the employee’s leg.
The shelter worker stroked the frightened puppy, trying to comfort him and give him love.
The TikTok account, @rescueme_atl, managed by volunteers dedicated to highlighting animals at risk of euthanasia in Atlanta, shared the video of T-Rex along with his story.
The volunteers asked good people to rescue the pup and give him a forever home.
The people who watched the heartwrenching video felt devastated and hoped that T-Rex would be saved before it was too late.
The Pup Is Safe
Fortunately, a big-hearted human volunteered to foster T-Rex and they saved him from euthanasia.
T-Rex left the Georgia shelter feeling hopeful about his future.
His friends were relieved that their boy was safe.
After spending a few days in his new home, T-Rex didn’t feel well and his foster family rushed him to the shelter clinic. The vet team cared for him and he started receiving treatment.
I hope that he will get back on his paws very soon and that he will meet his ideal family.
T-Rex is just a puppy who dreams of having a family who adores him. That’s all he needs to be happy.

Angelo’s Battle for Life
It was shocking to learn about Great Dane’s inability to move —his stomach was filled with stones. Starving and malnourished, Angelo had resorted to eating rocks to survive.
His belly was so full of stones that he couldn’t eat or relieve himself when brought to the shelter. While the vet immediately performed surgery on him, Angelo’s recovery was uncertain.
Furever Rescue Foster to the Rescue
Hanan, from the Furever Rescue Foster organization, went above and beyond to save Angelo. The surgery was costly and required an extensive recovery period, prompting her to seek assistance through social media.
Justin Finning and his wife, Deborah, saw Angelo’s heartbreaking photo. Although he was far from their home, they were determined to help him.
Meant to Be Together
This wasn’t the first Great Dane Justin and Deborah decided to save.
With over thirty years of experience in rescuing and fostering Great Danes with special needs, they knew they had to be involved in Angelo’s rescue.
However, Angelo was in another country and couldn’t travel until after surgery. Together with Hanan, the couple launched a fundraiser to gather the necessary funds for his treatment.
Beyond the initial surgery, Angelo needed physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and a specialized diet, all of which were very expensive.
Thankfully, this compassionate couple succeeded in their mission, providing Angelo with the crucial care he needed.
The surgery was a success, but Angelo needed time to regain his strength before traveling to his new home. When the day finally came, Hanan shared on Facebook:

Thriving in a Loving Home
