A Skinny Little Puppy with Only Skin And Bones Found in a Landfill

A Skinny Little Puppy with Only Skin And Bones Found in a Landfill

In the midst of an endless sea of waste, a tiny soul braved the harshness of life. A puppy, abandoned and forlorn, struggled to survive, his once vibrant fur now dull and grimy, his spirit dampened by solitude. Left to scavenge for scraps amidst the filth, hunger and cold gnawed at his fragile frame, his heart yearning for warmth and companionship.

Then, like a beacon of hope in the bleakness, a team of rescuers ventured into this realm of despair. Amidst the towering mounds of refuse, a soft whimper led them to the vulnerable creature, hidden beneath a mound of discarded remnants. Shivering and frail, the puppy’s eyes lit up with a flicker of hope as he sensed the approach of kind souls.

With trembling paws, he reached out to them, his tail wagging in gratitude, a silent plea for salvation. Touched by his unwavering trust, the rescuers enveloped him in a cocoon of warmth, wrapping him in a blanket of compassion. As they cradled him in their arms, they felt his heartbeats synchronize with theirs, a testament to the bond formed in mere moments.

As they journeyed back to the sanctuary of the shelter, the puppy’s infectious joy echoed in playful barks and joyful tail wags, a jubilant celebration of his newfound hope. At the shelter, he was greeted with gentle hands and soothing baths, his wounds tended to with love and care. With each passing day, his skin healed, his fur regained its luster, and his spirit soared, reborn from the ashes of despair.

In saving him, they didn’t just give him a second chance at life; they restored faith in humanity, proving that love has the power to transform and heal, that every life, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is precious and deserving of kindness.

Depressed pit bull filmed ”crying” at shelter after being used for breeding then dumped

Watching an animal that’s been betrayed and hurt by those it trusts most in the world is a truly horrible thing.

Sadly, animal neglect and cruelty takes place all around the world every day, and thousands are dumped at shelters waiting for someone to give them the second chance they deserve in life.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (CMACC) in North Carolina is one such shelter, and it’s one that Sarah Sleime visits often as a volunteer. As a result, she’s used to seeing despondent, broken animals waiting for their forever home.

Even she, however, was rocked to her very core when she met Cinnamon, a Pit Bull who looked to have tears in her eyes whenever Sarah walked past.

What she would come to learn about Cinnamon’s past, though, would push her over the edge …

It transpired that Cinnamon was 7-years-old, and it seemed as though she’d been used by her former owners as a breeding dog.

In a post on Facebook, Sarah wrote: “Someone dumped this poor mama at the shelter, minus her babies. Every time I stopped to talk to her and say I was sorry her eyes would fill with tears (check out reaction at -:13). Heartbreaking!!”

Sarah soon determined that she had to do something, so she uploaded a video on Cinnamon in the hope of raising awareness of her plight.

Shortly after her video was uploaded it became a viral sensation. Numerous people wanted to adopt Cinnamon, and there was no end to the people wishing her well.

Sarah was especially happy when a friend of hers revealed that she wanted to give the dog her forever home.

Megan Shelton told The Dodo: “I have a special place in my heart for pit bulls. I think they’re a very misunderstood dog and a misunderstood breed.

“And when I saw her in that video, literally crying in a cage, I cried. My kids cried. I showed my husband, and he said we could go look at her tomorrow.”

Cinnamon took no time at all in making friends with Megan. In fact, her tail wouldn’t stop wagging when they met.

Dogs are sympathetic creatures who share our joys and sorrows but emotional crying is usually an action associated with humans.

Sarah caught the encounter on camera and uploaded that, too, to her Facebook.

Gone were Cinnamon’s tears, replaced by an excitement that couldn’t be contained.

The Shelton family already had a three-year-old Pit Bull named Blu, and so the only hurdle left was seeing if the two dogs would be able to accept one another and co-exist.

To tie a pretty bow on the whole thing, Blu and Cinnamon – who the Sheltons would later name Rosie – got on like a house on fire. Rosie got a loving family, and the Sheltons were gifted a special dog indeed.

Look at that wagging happy tail!!!

According to the accommodation records, this dog will be turning 2 years old soon. His birthday is coming up. Let’s all send him birthday wishes and lots of love.

What a fantastic story. We’re so happy Cinnamon/Rosie was given the second chance she was so desperate for!

Sleieme and everyone touched by Cinnamon couldn’t be happier it all turned out well!

All dogs can be loving companions if given the right environment to grow. It’s our opinion that no dog should ever be discarded simply because they’re not convenient anymore.

Kirk Herbstreit announces dog Ben has died in heartbreaking update: “God please bless his majestic soul”

ESPN football analyst Kirk Herbstreit announced a heartbreaking update today: his service dog Ben, a beloved favorite among college football fans, has died.

The news comes days after Herbstreit wrote that Ben’s health was in decline and asked people to send prayers.

Herbstreit, a college football analyst and sportscaster on ESPN and Amazon Prime, announced the heartbreaking news today that his service dog had passed on, humanely euthanized after battling cancer.

“This is really hard to write but so many of you have loved and cared about Ben that I wanted to let you know,” Herbstreit wrote on social media. “We found out today the cancer had spread throughout Bens organs and there was nothing left we could do-we had to let him go.”

“I’ve had dogs my whole life but Ben was 1 on 1,” the sportscaster wrote in a touching tribute. “He was smart-loving-gentle-patient-inquisitive-and welcoming to all. Always a big smile and a soft tail wag. He and I could communicate..he and I understood each other and had each others backs. He was with me more than anyone at home and traveling with me for work. Such an easy going companion.”

He concluded that while it was a “hard day,” that the golden retriever would “live within us all forever.” “God please bless his majestic soul and thank you for putting him in my life for the last 10 years-a true blessing,” Herbstreit wrote. “Love you Ben.”

Ben wasn’t just loved by his owner but by college football fans across the country. The golden retriever was known for accompanying Herbstreit to game days, much to the delight of the crowds.

“He’ll stop by a tailgate, and people are like, ‘Oh, my God, look! It’s Ben! Ben’s here!’ It’s the funniest thing to see the reaction from people,” Herbstreit told The Athletic last year.

Herbstreit also said that Ben, a certified emotional support animal, brought him comfort when he is away from home, and has helped him get through difficult times, like when his son Zak was hospitalized with a heart condition.

On November 4, Herbstreit wrote that Ben’s health was “getting worse and worse.” The dog underwent chemotherapy and was receiving holistic treatments, and was unable to walk and not eating.

“If you’re a spiritual person I’d love for you to pray for my boy,” Herbstreit wrote. “Please pray for Ben and hope he pulls out of it.”

Rest in peace to Ben, the sweet companion to Kirk Herbstreit and a beloved favorite among so many football fans — he will never be forgotten 💔🌈

Please share this story in his memory.
