Sadie pictured her life one way, yet it turned out to be entirely different. 

After having a wonderful start, this sweet girl ended up being thrown out like garbage. Her owners decided to get rid of her and leave her in a dumpster, just because she ‘was guilty of pottying indoors.’

At no fault of her own, she lost everything she had in a day. What was once a nice, comfy home had transformed into a life marked by uncertainty and struggle…

Found In Difficult Circumstances

When kind passersby stumbled upon Sadie lying on top of a pile of trash in a dumpster, they were left shocked. 

How did she end up here? Was someone really cruel enough to throw her away like garbage? And, how long did she have to endure these difficult circumstances? 

All those questions popped into their minds as they watched her being all curled up and helpless.

Fortunately, the Cumberland County Animal Services team, from North Carolina, immediately intervened and offered Sadie a temporary refuge. But, when they found out the true reason behind their abandonment, they were completely heartbroken.

According to them, the owner decided to leave Sadie because she pottied in the house and bit him after being physically punished.

“Sadie pottied in the house and she bit her owner after being physically disciplined. After the incident, the owner threw her in the dumpster. She is now in danger of being euthanized. We really want to see this girl find her forever,” CCAS wrote on Facebook.

After being pulled out of a difficult situation, Sadie was subjected to a vet exam. The tests showed upper respiratory infection which had to be treated medically. Other than that, she had no other issues, and that was a true miracle given her living situation.

To avoid Sadie being unjustifiably euthanized in the shelter, the CCAS team searched high and low for a new opportunity. 

The shelter environment added to Sadie’s trauma, and the team rushed to find a solution. She deserved a new chance and someone to focus on her and only her. 

Fortunately, their search soon yielded positive results!

She Is A Sweet, Loving Girl

Victoria McGonigal, the owner of Dochas n Gra Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, from Chesterfield, South Carolina, heard Sadie’s story and she acted immediately. 

Sadie (now named Sydney), found an amazing home with the rescue, and she couldn’t be happier. But, most of all, her true personality finally surfaced underneath all that trauma she once had to endure.

With just a few weeks of TLC and socialization with other doggos, Sydney transformed into the sweetest lovebug.

“Sadie now Sydney is doing great. She is a very sweet loving girl,” Dochas n Gra stated on Facebook.

It is safe to say that Sydney is now making up for all the lost time. With every new day, she finds creative ways to “spice things up” and take on an exciting adventure. 

Her puppy personality really kicked in, and now she gets to live life completely carefree. And, the best thing of all – she gets to explore the sanctuary and meet horses, cows, and goats on a daily basis. On top of that, Sydney gets to bond with other dogs and form forever friendships.

She has her very own little world there, and she enjoys every second of it!
