An Ohio pastor was arrested and is accused of sexually abusing a minor.

Christopher Walter, 52, is charged with sexual battery and grooming, according to the Deshler Police Department.

Police did not provide details about the nature of the alleged abuse.

Walter is the lead pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Deshler, according to reports from WLIO, WTVG and WTOL.

Per Walter’s LinkedIn profile, he has been at Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2021 and was an assistant pastor in Bowling Green, Ohio before that.

Walter’s bio on LinkedIn also states that he works for a local school district.

“Patrick Henry Local Schools is aware of the arrest and criminal charges involving an employee of the district,” the school district said in a statement. “The employee has been suspended without pay. Because this is a personnel and legal matter, the district will have no further comment.”

It is not immediately clear if Walter has entered a plea. He is not currently listed in Henry County jail records.

WTOL reported that Walter was ordered by a judge to not have contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Students of a Georgia high school teacher accused of sexual assault allegedly tried to blackmail her over an OnlyFans account.

The allegations were made in search warrants reported by Fox 5, WSB and Atlanta News First.

Maris Nichols, 25, a teacher at Alexander High School in Douglasville, Ga., was initially arrested in May on charges of sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority.

PEOPLE previously reported that Nichols is accused of having sex with students on multiple occasions, including once in a school closet and another time at a golf course in the backseat of a student’s truck.

According to the outlets, subsequent search warrants alleged that students discovered Nichols had an OnlyFans account.

Fox 5 reported that during the investigation, there were reports that students had threatened to expose the account if they didn’t receive better grades.

Per the outlet, it’s not clear if police have determined the veracity of the blackmail claims, but they were used as justification for obtaining records from OnlyFans.

Previous court filings reported by PEOPLE alleged that Nichols made a female student watch Fifty Shades of Grey and that she sent text messages to male students in which she said “she liked to be choked, screamed at, slapped, and whipped during sexual encounters.”

It is not immediately clear if Nichols has entered a plea.

“The Douglas County School System is deeply troubled by allegations against an individual associated with one of our schools,” the school district said in a statement. “Upon learning of the alleged misconduct, the district immediately launched an investigation.”
