Is he looking at 2028?
Donald Trump Jr. has tried to change his image in the last few years. He used to be on TV, loudly speaking about politics basically every day, and he has pulled back a bit from that. He also has now married again, to Bettina Trump, neé Anderson. But what is the reason for this change?
Sources are telling RadarOnline that Trump Jr. is considering a future run for public office. “This is a total reset,” one source said. “Don Jr. is now thinking about influence, access and long-term power. Marriage seems to have sharpened his focus.”

Trump married Anderson in the Bahamas on May 23, with just his closest family and friends attending. His father, stepmother Melania, and younger brother Barron did not attend.
And the possibility probably means relocating. “He understands that political power is built face-to-face. The donors, media players and relationships that matter are all centered in D.C.,” another source said. “You can’t build that world from a yacht dock in Florida.”
Shuter had previously reported on Trump’s attempts to change perception about him. “Don Jr. thinks being married makes him look more presidential,” one insider revealed to Naughty But Nice. “He understands the Republican base. This wasn’t just personal — politically, he sees it as an asset.”

And he might not stop there, as reports indicate he might also be looking to grow his family even more. “They’re still enjoying the honeymoon phase of the marriage and aren’t sure exactly when that time will come,” a source told Page Six in a June 5 report about whether Trump Jr. and his new wife were planning to have kids. “But they definitely plan on having kids at some point and growing their family together.”
However, now he’s facing a big problem with any political designs he might have: his father. Trump’s noticeable absence from Don Jr.’s wedding has left people talking about whether the president would even support his son running for office.
Reportedly, “people inside the family are asking the same question.” The question seems to be, “If Trump couldn’t show up for one of the biggest days of his son’s life, how enthusiastic would he really be about backing a presidential campaign?”
The journalist also reported that Don Jr. isn’t the only one looking forward to a potential 2028 presidential bid. “Nobody is waiting their turn anymore,” a Republican insider explained. “Vance has the ideological MAGA base, Rubio has establishment donors, and Don Jr. has the Trump name. It’s becoming a real fight.”
And while Don Jr. is “moving like someone who fully expects to run one day,” some say that “the only question is whether his father ultimately sees him as an heir — or competition.”
