The ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. said she has spent the past four weeks recovering from surgery and will soon begin the next phase of treatment.

Vanessa Trump said Saturday she is beginning the second stage of breast cancer treatment after spending the past four weeks recovering from surgery.

In an Instagram post, Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., said she was “grateful to be healing and moving forward.”

“Sending love, strength, and hope to everyone fighting this battle,” she said.

The 48-year-old mother of five first announced her breast cancer diagnosis in May, saying she was working closely with her medical team on a treatment plan.

Trump did not specify what type of breast cancer she was diagnosed with or what her next phase of treatment would entail. She did not immediately respond to NBC News’ request for comment.

Breast cancer rates in the U.S. are rising among women under 50, a trend that has prompted doctors to urge younger women to pay attention to changes in their bodies and discuss risk factors with their physicians.
