Meghan Trainor is a proud user of GLP-1 medication, but that hasn’t necessarily endeared her in the eyes of her fans. The “All About That Bass” singer recently sparked backlash with the release of her new music video, with fans blaming her “Ozempic” use for causing her to lose some star power. Trainor released a music video for her new single, “Get in Girl,” on March 31, and people were quick to tear her performance apart.
One person posted a clip of the music video on X, in which Trainor looks very thin as she dances unenthusiastically. They captioned it, “She is trying to be Sabrina Carpenter so bad.” Another person shared the tweet, writing, “She lost all the sauce with that ozempic treatment,” referring to Trainor’s admitted use of the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro.

One person commented on this post, “That bass all gone.” Another wrote, “Wasn’t she the one with a body positive song? Holy hypocrite.” It’s clear from these comments that the proclaimed body-positive singer is majorly disappointing her fans.
Meghan Trainor kick-started her weight loss after gestational diabetes

After Meghan Trainor’s weight loss was a topic of discussion at a March 2025 appearance at the Billboard Music Awards, she took to Instagram to clear up the rumors. She admitted her jarringly different physical appearance was due to using the tirzepatide medication, Mounjaro, as well as making “huge lifestyle changes” focused on diet and exercise. “No, I don’t look like I did 10 years ago,” she wrote. “I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.”
Trainor shared more details about her decision to lose weight in a November 2025 interview with KIIS FM. She admitted she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her second pregnancy with son Barry, born in July 2023, whom she shares with “Spy Kids” alum Daryl Sabara. She recalled thinking, “Oh, I got to learn about health and fitness. And if I want to tour forever, I gotta be at my strongest. If I want to lift up my kids from their crib and not pull out my back.” Trainor added that her health journey came with negativity. “But I got a lot of hate for being thinner,” she added. Unfortunately, it seems like nothing has changed.

Meghan Trainor Turns to Surrogacy, Ignores the Judgment
Singer Meghan Trainor stated that the decision to use a surrogate for her third child was not her initial choice, but rather the safest option for her health following previous traumatic childbirth experiences.
Speaking with People, Meghan Trainor detailed for the first time her journey of welcoming her youngest daughter, Mikey Moon, via surrogacy. The singer emphasized that this is “another beautiful way to build a family” and should not be a subject of judgment.
Meghan Trainor Decides for Safety
Meghan Trainor and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, welcomed their daughter Mikey Moon on January 18, 2026. This is the couple’s third child, following two sons, Riley (4) and Barry (2), whom Meghan carried herself.
According to her, turning to surrogacy was not the couple’s first choice. “We had countless conversations with doctors throughout this journey. And ultimately, this was the safest way for us to continue expanding our family. We are incredibly grateful that medicine gave us that option,” she said.
The couple has been married since 2018. While the two previous pregnancies left both physical and mental impacts on Meghan Trainor, the family decided to proceed with surrogacy for the third birth to minimize risks.

Meghan Trainor believes that society still holds many prejudices regarding surrogacy, especially concerning celebrities. “I want people to understand that surrogacy is simply another way to build a family. There is nothing to whisper about or judge. It is based on trust, science, love, and teamwork. Every family has its own journey, and all deserve respect,” she shared.
She also expressed deep gratitude toward the woman who carried her daughter, though the family has not publicly disclosed her identity. According to Meghan Trainor, the process of partnering with the surrogate was an “extraordinary” experience.
Meghan Trainor added: “She is one of the most selfless, strong, and loving people I have ever met. We stayed connected throughout the journey, and I will always be grateful for the care and love she gave my daughter. She gave us the greatest gift of our lives.”
Publicly Shared Postpartum Trauma
Previously, Meghan Trainor had spoken publicly several times about her difficult childbirth experiences with her first two sons. After baby Riley was born, he faced serious respiratory issues and required several days of treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The singer herself was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the event.
During the birth of her second child, Barry, Meghan Trainor continued to face both physical and mental crises. In an article published on today.com in January 2025, she admitted to falling into a state of exhaustion and panic, feeling unsafe even while caring for her child.
Despite the challenges, Meghan Trainor stated that her children are the motivation for her to strive to become a better version of herself. Announcing the happy news on Instagram on January 20, the singer wrote that the family is “overflowing with happiness,” while also revealing that her two sons helped choose the middle name for their baby sister.
“We are fully enjoying this family time. I hope my story can contribute to opening up more candid conversations about reproductive health and the journey of parenthood,” Meghan Trainor shared.
