Dolly Parton health update: What happened to the music legend? Las Vegas concerts postponed

Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of her upcoming Las Vegas concert series, citing ongoing health challenges and the need for medical procedures.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, Dolly Parton shared the news with fans.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” she wrote.
While she didn’t specify the nature of her medical issues, Parton reassured fans with her trademark humor, “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
She continued on a more serious note, “Given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
Despite stepping back from the stage temporarily, Parton said shw will continue working on her other projects from her home base in Nashville.
“While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding,” she wrote.

Dolly Parton‘s upcoming concert residency in Las Vegas has been postponed. The country icon is undergoing “a few” undisclosed medical procedures to address health concerns, she revealed on Sunday (Sept. 28).
In a statement posted on her social media accounts, Parton explained that she won’t have sufficient rehearsal time ahead of the shows that were scheduled for The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in early December. She announced rescheduled dates set for September 2026.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. Her message continued, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
Parton was set to perform in Vegas on Dec. 4, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 13. She planned to weave “seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites including ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Jolene,’ ‘I Will Always Love You’ and ‘Coat of Many Colors’” into the limited engagement run at The Colosseum, for which tickets went on sale in June.
The six-show run has been rescheduled for 2026 on the following dates: Sept. 17, 19, 20, 23, 25 and 26.
Original tickets are valid for the new dates, and refunds will be available. Parton and The Colosseum at Caesars Palace said more instructions will be provided to ticket purchasers via email.
The concert residency is Parton’s first extended run in Las Vegas since an engagement in the early ’90s — at the then-new, but now-closed, Mirage Hotel, where she performed alongside Kenny Rogers.

Dolly Parton just opened a wine bar in Nashville, and I’m booking a flight immediately.
Dolly Parton is one of the most beloved humans on this earth but she just keeps getting cooler.
The latest opportunity to appreciate Dolly comes via the new Dolly Wines Bar inside Assembly Food Hall in Nashville.
Just recently opened, it features selections from Dolly’s personally curated wine brand, such as Dolly’s Chardonnay and Dolly’s Pinot Noir and a seasonal sangria, as well as an assortment of signature cocktails and a weekend mimosa bar.
According to the Assembly Food Hall website, Dolly Wines are “crafted to be easy-drinking, light-hearted and vibrant,” and the varieties draw their inspiration from her “rich musical heritage and her ethos of inclusivity.”
As Nashville is heaven for bachelorette parties, and Dolly Parton is the patron saint of all things wonderful and wholesome, this is a perfect addition to the downtown Nashville bar scene. Many artists already have bars in the area, but Dolly, one of the biggest names in town, did not until now – though she is honored with a Dolly-themed bar nearby.
White Limozeen is a Dolly-themed bar located on the roof of the Graduate Hotel in Nashville, just a few miles away. (The hotel iself is largely Dolly-themed, with even a Dolly pinball machine within the bar inside!) However, that’s just Dolly-themed and not Dolly-owned. This is, obviously, super cool in its own right – and perfectly timed as Dolly is soon to open the SongTeller Hotel…just steps away from her wine bar. Or you may want to check out Dolly: An Original Musical at The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.
She’s also honored at the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Ryman Auditorium, and several murals in her honor around town. Or you may want to visit RCA Studio B, where she recorded many of her most famous tunes. There’s even city tours of Nashville that focus specifically on Dolly’s influence!
One can probably plan an entire girlfriend’s weekend in Nashville now entirely based on Dolly-centric experiences, and that’s just about perfect.

Dollywood’s mysterious aviation-themed attraction is coming in 2026—and Dolly Parton will reveal details soon
Dollywood’ five-story indoor experience is set to debut next year, and Parton herself will reveal details Sept. 17 in Pigeon Forge at a season passholder event.
Dolly Parton has fans buzzing with cryptic teasers for Dollywood’s largest-ever attraction, planned to debut in 2026. The park hasn’t revealed specifics yet, but Parton herself will take the stage on Sept. 17 at an event for season passholders in Pigeon Forge to announce what’s ahead.
In the meantime, Dollywood’s social media has dropped a trail of clues, including retro aviation imagery, glowing lights and magical Smoky Mountain scenes. One teaser shows a vintage Airline radio dial captioned “Cleared for takeoff,” while others layer the logo for “Hidden Hollow Aviation” over desk scenes filled with stamped sketches and journal pages (perhaps a command center of some kind?).
Fans noticed coded numbers in the teasers, which line up with Sept. 17, 2025, the day Dollywood has confirmed it will reveal the attraction publicly.
While the aviation theme is clear, other hints point to a sparklier, nature-themed evocation of the Smoky Mountains. One post pans across a map of “Black Bear Trail,” drawings of foraged mushrooms, a glowing lizard, and a blueprint for a device called the “Bioluminator Model No. 409.” It’s paired with the caption: “Chart the course with us to where the night is never truly dark 🦎.” (Why the little green critter? We won’t know until the 17th!)
At 77, Dolly has confirmed that the rumors are true
Accompanied by the sounds of crickets and fireflies, the teaser feels enchanted, like spending a summer evening in East Tennessee. The voiceover says: “Sparking imagination and rising to new heights, deep in the Smokies, we illuminate the unknown. Follow the light, 2026—only at Dollywood.”
The park even updated its official Instagram profile picture, swapping its classic butterfly for a new design set against a purple-and-green Smoky Mountain backdrop dotted with glowing specks. Could this wink be connected to the bioluminescent firefly theme hinted at in the recent teaser? Only time will tell.
At Dollywood’s 40th birthday party earlier this year, Parton revealed that the attraction will be five stories tall and located indoors, all 44,000 square feet of it.
The park has confirmed Parton will be in attendance for the Sept. 17 event, which will take place at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The announcement will be open to season passholders, with a reserved section set aside for media.
Park officials say they’ll “plunge media into the heart of the excitement,” and that attendees will be invited to “climb their way through thrilling information” as they “navigate the most exciting ways to share the news.”
(If you haven’t figured it out yet, those italicized words are hints, too.)
The event begins at 11 a.m., and guests are encouraged to arrive early due to expected traffic.
