As stray dogs wander the streets, begging for a bit of food and kindness, they dream of living a better life.

Whenever they meet new people, they wag their tails and smile, hoping to attract their attention and receive the help and love they need.

Zelda was one of the wonderful street dogs who had dreams that helped her feel less lonely. She dreamed of finding a place to call home and forever humans who would shower her with love.

Fortunately, Zelda was rescued from the streets and admitted to Valley Animal Center, a shelter in Fresno, California.

She couldn’t have known she would experience heartbreak instead of happiness.

Zelda’s Heartbreak

Upon arriving at the shelter, the pup hoped to catch the eye of the potential adopters.

However, as time went by, her optimism started to decline. 

She watched other shelter residents getting adopted while she continued waiting for her turn. Zelda was disappointed because the shelter visitors passed her by.

After months of waiting, a family arrived at the shelter and chose Zelda to be their furry companion. The doggo was a picture of happiness.

Zelda was convinced that this was the happy ending that she longed for.

She was excited to move into her new home. 

Sadly, Zelda’s happiness was short-lived. Her new family returned her to the Fresno shelter, saying that they didn’t have time for her.

The shelter staff did everything they could to comfort her. 

After seeing how beautiful life outside the shelter could be, Zelda returned to her lonely corner in the shelter kennel.

She knew that all she could do now was wait for someone else to give her a chance to be happy.

The Pup Hopes To Find A Home

Zelda spent more than two hundred days waiting for someone to choose her. So far, she hasn’t received any interest in adoption.

Since Zelda doesn’t get along with cats and dogs, it’s difficult for her to find a forever home. She needs to be the only pet in the household.

A kind-hearted woman who often networks for shelter dogs visited Zelda in her kennel, made a short video, and posted it on her TikTok.

In the video, Zelda looks sorrowful and devastated as she sits in her bed. Her beautiful brown eyes reflect the heartbreak that she feels.

The pup only needs a chance to show what a wonderful pet she really is. She loves interacting with people and can’t wait to cuddle with her forever humans.

As time goes by, Zelda feels more concerned and sorrowful. She often suckles on blankets and tries to soothe herself.

I hope that the sweet pup will soon meet an amazing family who will give her the forever home that she dreams of. She truly deserves it.
