Paris Hilton got a bittersweet advice from her mother when she starred on The Simple Life.

The hotel heiress—whose life was documented in the reality series as she moved in with a middle-class family in the small town of Altus, Arkansas to adapt to a new environment—recalled recently how her mother, Kathy Hilton, advised to not let fame get to her head.

“My mom always taught me the importance of giving back,” the socialite, 44, told the audience while being honoured as “Woman of the Year” at Los Angeles magazine’s LA Woman Luncheon Friday.

She continued, “I will never forget the night before The Simple Life aired my mom told me, ‘Paris, when the show airs on Fox tomorrow, your life is going to change forever and I always want you to remain the same sweet and down-to-earth girl you are and never forget that,’” she recalled.

Paris explained she’s always kept her mother’s words “close to [her] heart.”

“I’ve been in this town a long time,” Paris added during the Q&A with Los Angeles magazine Editor-in-Chief Jasmin Rosemberg. “I’ve seen a lot and I’ve seen a lot of fame and things get to people’s heads and that’s something I never want to be like.

Paris, who is now mom to two kids, concluded by giving her parents a shout-out to her own parents and grandmother.

“I’m really grateful that I have these amazing parents that raised me to be the woman that I am today.”

“[They] both just have the biggest hearts and always make me laugh and have the best time,” Paris said, referring to her mom and grandmom.

“They are both incredible mothers and my role models,” she said in her honorary speech as the event recognised her relief efforts following the Palisades and Eaton Fires earlier this year.

Despite losing her $8.4 million Malibu home in the devastation, Paris worked with various organisations including Pasadena Humane Society, Baby2Baby and Altadena Girls, Page Six noted.

She also raised more than $800,000 for Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts through her nonprofit 11:11 Media Impact.

Mom-Shamers Accuse Paris Hilton of Favoring One Child Over the Other & It’s Time to Log Off the Internet

Paris Hilton can’t catch a break. The internet trolls are after her again, criticizing part of her parenting that moms have been accused of since the dawn of time: having a favorite child. Yes, seriously. This is a question 5-year-olds ask or pesky older siblings claim — not a valid or helpful critique. And yet, people are blowing up the comments section of the “Stars Are Blind” singer’s latest post to claim that she is favoring one of her babies over the other. (*Cue massive eye roll here.*) Let’s break it down, shall we?

It all started when Hilton posted an adorable TikTok of her kids Phoenix, 2, and London, 17 months, who she shares with husband Carter Reum. The heiress and entrepreneur shared a peek into her trip to the music festival Coachella with her kids. “Phoenix is already sneaking out to Coachella!” she joked in text over the video, adding in her caption, “Uh oh … Phoenix is going to be trouble like his mama 😂 #Coachella.”

In the video, Phoenix rides a little balance bike outside, in front of shiny metallic streamers. “Coachella!” she coaches in the clip, prompting Phoenix to say it back in his adorable toddler voice. At one point, Phoenix backs up into his sister, who is standing behind him holding a toy cell phone. And she is totally unfazed after the bump.

“She’s a tough girl,” The Simple Life alum comments, as Phoenix looks back and touches his sister on the face like he is checking to make sure she’s OK. Later, Hilton asks her son if he’s “taking the bike to Coachella” and “sneaking out,” and he confirms that he is “sneaking out” with the cutest little giggle. Ugh, these kids are too much, we love it!

At this, London runs over to the other balance bike, and Hilton warns, “Well don’t teach your sister to sneak out too!” These little cuties are adorable, and definitely love each other, so we don’t understand why some people felt the need to slam her parenting style.

“She always favors Phoenix over London 💔,” one person wrote. Someone else claimed, “She always showing and talking about him , never about her 😡”

“Doesn’t even acknowledge that he crashed into London and see if she alright just made sure Phoenix was,” someone else judgily wrote. Another claimed, “Can tell between both kids Phoenix is your favorite.”

These people need to get a grip. This is a cute video, she clearly paid attention to both kids — and even made sure London was OK during the minor, blink-and-you’d-miss-it accident.

Other fans wanted to make sure people knew that a short video (one that’s not even bad!) doesn’t give you all-knowing access into their lives. Like this person, who wrote in Hilton’s defense, “Are you around them 24/7? NO! You’re NOT! Paris is a great mom and she does not favor one over the other.” Someone else said, “So weird, we see minute videos and decide the entire narrative. That is so bizarre especially if they are grown adults.”

This isn’t the first time Hilton’s been bombarded by mom-shamers. Last month, she shared a video of London playing with her purses, and everyone got on to her for reportedly “act[ing] like she doesn’t know her.” Literally, people need to log off for a while and go touch grass if they are getting this mad about complete non-issues.

As for Hilton, she is just enjoying her babies and doing her best to parent them the best way she knows how. In an interview with Grazia Magazine in March, the Paris in Love star shared that she hopes her kids don’t actually sneak out when they get older.

“I get scared about thinking about them as teenagers and how fast the world is moving,” she told the outlet. “It also makes me nervous to think about them sneaking out. I know how dangerous the world can be.”

But the DJ has a plan: “I’m thinking I’ll make a house so much fun that they won’t even ever want to go out,” Hilton said, adding that she wants to teach her kids “to be good human beings and love sports and music and to be super busy in school.” And to ignore the haters, which goes without saying.

How Paris Hilton, Billy Ray Cyrus and other stars celebrated Easter 2025

Spring has sprung, and now the stars are hopping into the Easter spirit.

Paris Hilton celebrated the holiday in true mommy fashion by throwing an adorable Easter bash for her children, as seen in an April 19 Instagram post. The media mogul, 44, shares son Phoenix, 2, and daughter London, 1, with husband and entrepreneur Carter Reum, 44.

Hilton shared several photos from the party, which saw Phoenix and London decorate a cake with bunny-shaped treats and pose beneath a colorful balloon arch. “Getting ready for Easter with little bunnies 🐰🐰💖,” she wrote. “Feeling like the luckiest mama!💫 Cherishing every magical moment with my beautiful babies 💐”

Easter Sunday, an important day for members of the Christian faith, commemorates the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ after a 40-day season of prayer known as Lent.

The holiday is also the last day of Holy Week, a week’s worth of events paying homage to the final days leading up to Christ’s Crucifixion and Resurrection.

While some partake in more traditional practices like prayer or mass on Easter, others enjoy a more secular interpretation with baskets, egg decorating, egg hunting, and of course, the Easter Bunny.

Here’s how other celebs are celebrating.

Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus

Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus are celebrating Easter with a little romance.

The actress, 59, and country singer-songwriter, 63, took to Instagram to mark the holiday with an idyllic outdoor photo. Cyrus, wearing a denim shirt with striped pants and a bunny ears headband, planted a kiss on Hurley’s cheek as she cheerily posed in a blue flannel shirt and matching jeans.

Kris Jenner

For Kris Jenner, Easter is all about family.

The reality-TV personality and Kardashians matriarch, 69, observed the holiday on Instagram by sharing an assortment of throwback photos from past Easter celebrations with her children Kim Kardashian, 44; Kourtney Kardashian, 46; Khloé Kardashian, 40; Rob Kardashian, 38; Kendall Jenner, 29; and Kylie Jenner, 27.

One photo shows Kris, decked out in a red frock and matching hat, posing with Kim, Kourtney and Khloé in nearly identical outfits. Another pic offers a sweet side-by-side shot of Kendall and Kylie wearing tulle dresses with dainty floral accents.

“Happy Easter!! 🐣🐰💐,” Jenner captioned the post.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is keeping things chill this Easter.

Lohan, 38, shared a photo of herself on Instagram that showed the Critics Choice-nominated actress lounging poolside in a floral top and dark sunglasses.

“Happy Easter! 🐰🐣🐇 💐🌸🌺🌻,” Lohan wrote.

Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson is all for indulging in Easter fun, as long as there’s a balance.

The “Pitch Perfect” star, 45, dressed up as the Easter bunny for an egg hunt with her 2-year-old daughter Royce Lillian, Wilson shared on Instagram. The actress also candidly added that she “may have” gorged on a “dozen Cadbury Creme eggs” during the celebration.

I “am planning on going OFF chocolate tomorrow to do a challenge!”, Wilson concluded. “Anyone with me? 6 weeks NO CHOCOLATE CHALLENGE starting Monday?”

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg is celebrating Easter with humor and heart.

The hip-hop icon, 53, shared a photo of himself and longtime wife Shante Broadus on Instagram. Broadus stunned in a plush pink coat and matching fedora. “Happy Easter from the Broadus Family @bosslady_ent 💕💕❗️”, Dogg wrote.

The rapper, a self-professed marijuana enthusiast, also poked fun at Easter Sunday falling on April 20, or 4/20, which is informally known as a day of appreciation for the drug.

On X, Dogg shared a meme that featured a seemingly photoshopped image of the rapper wearing a bunny suit with the caption, “When 420 falls on Easter Sunday.” In response, Dogg wrote, “Good morning 🤣🤣👏🏿 🙏🏿 ☀️”

Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon goes all out for Easter.

The actor and TV personality, 44, gave a glimpse into his festivities with co-parent Abby De La Rosa, 34, in an Instagram post. The pair shares three children: twin sons Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 3, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 2.

Cannon dressed up as the Easter bunny while his children sat atop a life-sized egg-hunt basket. “Happy Easter!!”, Cannon captioned the post.

Reba McEntire

Reba McEntire is getting nostalgic this Easter.

The country music icon, 70, shared a throwback photo of herself on social media that showed her sitting with a basket full of flowers. McEntire, who is surrounded by larger floral arrangements in the image, beams for the camera while cradling a brightly colored Easter egg.

“Happy Easter from my family to yours 🐣🩷,” McEntire wrote.

King Charles and Queen Camilla

For King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Easter is a time for faith.

The British royals briefly greeted onlookers after attending an Easter service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, England, an important fixture in the 76-year-old monarch’s calendar as Charles serves as supreme governor of the Church of England.

Charles and Camilla, 77, were joined by Princess AnnePrince AndrewPrince Edward and other family members at the 15th-century chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Camilla, who was handed a posy of flowers by a young girl, wished “Happy Easter” to members of the crowd after the service.

On April 17, the king used his annual Easter message to reflect on war, human suffering and the heroism of those who risk their lives to help others.
