Golden Retriever Acts Like a ‘Drama Queen’ After Stubbing Her Paw and It’s Oscar-Worthy

My senior Dachshund can be a bit dramatic at times. When she wants tidbits from the dinner table, she gives me those sad eyes as if she’s been starving for days, even though she just finished her own meal. She also puts on a sweet look when she gets caught going through the garbage, hoping to get off the hook. Then there are those times when she just wants extra attention and sprawls out in front of me until she gets lengthy belly rubs.

Layla the Golden Retriever also seems to pour it on a little thick when she wants some extra affection from her mom.

In the TikTok from @laylathegoldengurl, the precious pooch stood at the bottom of the stairs looking at her mom with a wounded expression on her face.

“Did you fall off the stairs and hurt your paw?” her mom asked sympathetically. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. Can mama kiss it?”

Layla responded with pained eyes and just curled up in the corner to nurse her injury. Her mom gently held her back paw and gave it a kiss to speed up the healing process. The precious pooch still seemed a little out of sorts, but was grateful for her mom’s attention.

The next clip showed Layla just moments later, bounding down the stairs. Apparently, her wound wasn’t as bad as she made it out to be.

“Somebody give this girl an Oscar,” the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, “Drama queen — she learned young.”

Layla’s Performance Was a Hit

Viewers of the video were charmed by Layla’s dramatic flair and gave props for her performance.

“She’s hurt. Give her everything. Take off work the rest of the year just to make sure that paw heals correctly. This is serious,” one advised.

“I feel like a treat would be better than a kiss,” another suggested.

“Poor girl! They really can be so dramatic,” a follower remarked.

“I will present her an Oscar!” someone offered.

Layla certainly knows how to get her mom’s attention and look adorable in the process.

Golden Retriever Channels His Inner Simba During Snowstorm Like the Lion King He Is

What a majestic boy! People online can’t get enough of the glorious way that one Golden Retriever was protecting his home in the cold. It didn’t matter that it was below zero, the Golden wasn’t going to quit. And the dog’s “bravery” during the cold is totally giving us Lion King vibes.

Are we on Pride Rock? Cause I feel like I’m looking at Mufasa. The Golden Retriever had his humans cracking up with his devotion to protecting their house. What a good boy!

Tucker won’t let a little wind chill get to him. He has a house to protect. The Golden Retriever is such a good guard dog. Nothing was going to stop him from standing outside and keeping an eye on things. The Golden Retriever had such straight posture and was very alert!

“Not even -4 degree Fahrenheit weather will stop Tucker from protecting his kingdom,” the video’s text overlay reads.

“A majestic king endures all seasons,” the caption jokes.

He’s a majestic king indeed! I have total faith in the dog to take care of things. The comments section couldn’t stop laughing at the adorable pup.

“Everywhere the light touches… is where he has peed,” joked one person.

“THE most majestic stance ever witnessed,” someone else teased.

“A king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun,” another person added.

“The gentle breeze caressing his hair is a paid actor,” quipped one commenter.

Do Golden Retrievers Make Good Guard Dogs?

Known for their gentle disposition, Golden Retrievers might seem like they’re too nice to be a guard dog. In truth, Goldens are not typically bred to be guard dogs, but they do have a protective streak that can come in handy.

They are very watchful over the people they love. Which means their families! They will sometimes stand watch over their humans and will growl if a stranger or someone threatening approaches.

Think of them as protection dogs rather than guard dogs. They aren’t really trained to protect a property or location, but they will do their best to keep you safe.
