Kate Middleton is looking back on her cancer journey and how far she’s come. In honor of World Cancer Day on February 4, the Princess of Wales shared an Instagram video of her visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
The video included clips of Kate greeting patients at the hospital during her visit in January 2025. Kate herself also received treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital for her undisclosed form of cancer before she announced she had entered remission in January 2025. The video was set to a voiceover message from the Princess of Wales offering words of support to those battling cancer. “On World Cancer Day, my thoughts are with everyone who is facing a cancer diagnosis, undergoing treatment, or finding their way through recovery,” she said. “Cancer touches so many lives – not only patients, but the families and friends and caregivers who walk beside them.”
She continued, “As anyone who has experienced this journey will know, it’s not linear. There are moments of fear and exhaustion. But also moments of strength, kindness, and profound connection. Today is a reminder of the importance of care, understanding, and hope. Please know you are not alone.”
Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, two months after she underwent an unspecified abdominal surgery. She revealed that she had finished chemotherapy in September 2024 before announcing that she was in remission four months later.
Around the time of her remission announcement, a source told People that Kate was “not back to normal” but there were signs of a “light at the end of the tunnel.” “She has to get back on top of it. And she will if she is left alone to work it out for herself,” the insider said.
Kate also admitted she was she was still not able to “function normally” during a visit to Colchester Hospital in July 2025. “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment,” she said at the time, calling her cancer journey a “really, really difficult” time in her life. “Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually [that’s not the case].”
She also noted that, despite “not necessarily [being] under the clinical team any longer,” she still wasn’t able to “to function normally at home as [she] perhaps once used to.” She continued, “[Having] someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment … is really valuable.” She also admitted that finding a “new normal… takes time.”
She added, “It’s a roller coaster, it’s not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times.”
Kate Reportedly Still Has ‘Jealousy’ Toward William’s Alleged Mistress as Sources Claim the ‘Hurt’ of His Rumored Affair Has ‘Never Fully Faded’
For the last few years, UK news has mostly tried to stay away from the topic, so it feels like the rumors about Prince William‘s reported affair with Rose Hanbury have pretty much died. But, every once in a while, there’s a report that takes us right back to when that was the only news anyone could think about. And people are still very much interested in it, and if the two women still get along.
RadarOnline.com is reporting that as Kate Middleton prepares to draw even firmer boundaries for her royal life, she is still haunted by the rumors of Prince William’s affair and is determined to keep Hanbury far from her orbit as a result.
The rumors were ever just that, rumors, as both parties denied it, but the outlet says that the emotional impact of the rumors that William and the Marchioness of Cholmondeley were romantically involved was felt.
“When the rumors first began circulating, Kate was deeply shaken and emotionally blindsided,” a source said. “They undermined her confidence in the life she thought was stable and secure, and the hurt they caused left a lasting imprint that has never fully faded.”
At the time, William and Kate reportedly sought counseling, and though the two are thought to be in a much better place these days, the lasting rumors did cause a strain in the relationship. “They were forced to confront one of the most challenging chapters of their relationship and put in serious effort to move forward,” our source said. “While their marriage still has moments of strain, both are committed to holding the family unit together and weathering difficulties rather than walking away.”
But that doesn’t mean Middleton wants Hanbury anywhere near her or her husband. “In 2019, Kate was very clear that Rose needed to be removed from her personal and social sphere, and she is now demanding that again,” one insider said.
“Whatever cordial relationship may have existed came to an immediate halt. The speculation left Kate feeling exposed and embarrassed, and she was determined to put as much space as possible between herself and anything that might revive those damaging narratives.”
Hanbury, who is married to David Rocksavage and has three children with him, has repeatedly denied the allegations. She and Middleton have not been seen together since the rumors were first reported.
If reports are to be believed, though, it is Hanbury’s increasing visibility that has pushed Middleton into setting firmer boundaries. “Any time Rose surfaces at an event connected to the royal world, it reopens old emotional wounds for Kate,” a former royal aide said.
“What once seemed like a harmless friendship is now colored entirely by the rumors, and the public speculation was deeply humiliating for her. Even now, the memory of it remains painful.”
And that’s why Middleton has chosen distance. “Kate has always guarded her private life carefully, and she finds it deeply frustrating that these rumors continue to resurface,” a source said. “It is less about retaliation and more about safeguarding her own emotional well-being. The feelings of jealousy and hurt have not fully disappeared, and she has no desire to repeatedly confront memories that reopen that painful chapter.”
How Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Faith Practices Differ from King Charles

The historic meeting between Kate Middleton and Prince William and the new Archbishop of Canterbury will be the first of many

William and Kate are expected to have a long working relationship with the new Archbishop Sarah Mullally as working with all faiths is an important of their role

When he is king, William will be the Supreme Governor of the Church of England
When Kate Middleton and Prince William met the new spiritual head of the Church of England on Feb. 5, it was the start of what will be a longstanding and close working partnership.
But it also signaled how important faith, in its various forms, is a central part of the royals’ working lives.
Prince William, who will one day become Supreme Governor of the Church of England, is also expected to work with spiritual leaders of all creeds and heritage.
In what has become a regular event this year, the day began with the Prince and Princess of Wales’ office heralding the theme of the day via their social media feeds, with a simple slide showing lit votive candles and the message, “Today Meeting spiritual leaders in London.”
The Prince of Wales then held a meeting with the Aga Khan, whom King Charles had entertained for dinner at Windsor Castle the previous evening. Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini has been the Aga Khan V for a year and is the spiritual leader of the Shia Nizari Ismaili Muslims.
It’s understood that the meetings are indicative of the importance the couple places on faith, a source close to them says.
It is a key part of their role to meet, understand and bring different faiths and spiritual traditions together, something that helps bond communities. It is something that William’s father, King Charles, has made great efforts to engender and also help foster community harmony.
Prince William, 43, and Prince Kate, 44, are said to be looking forward to building a strong working relationship with the new archbishop, Sarah Mullally.
“I know we hold the same hope for a better world, and I look forward to working together in the years to come. I will continue to hold them and their family in my prayers,” Mullally said afterward, PA reported.
Prince William might have some way to go to convince some royal courtiers of his full-bloodied commitment to conventional, traditional religion. Respected royal author Robert Hardman pointed out that William is not as devout as his father.
“In royal circles, it is no secret that he does not share the King’s sense of the spiritual, let alone the late Queen’s unshakeable devotion to the Anglican church,” Hardman writes of William in his 2024 book, The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy.
But, those close to him have said, the Prince of Wales is a reflection of modern Britain, where church-going is dwindling.
“[William’s] father is very spiritual and happy to talk about faith, but the prince is not. He doesn’t go to church every Sunday, but then nor do the large majority of the country,” Hardman wrote. “He might go at Christmas and Easter, but that’s it. He very much respects the institutions, but he is not instinctively comfortable in a faith environment.’”
The diversity and the multi-faith makeup of Britain (something that, as Prince Charles, he worked to foster cooperation and understanding) were evident at the King’s coronation in May 2023. King Charles made sure the main religions were all represented. A guest at the service at Westminster Abbey, Hitan Mehta, executive director of the British Asian Trust, told PEOPLE that day, “It reflects on the King and his commitment to understanding different faiths and cultures in the United Kingdom. He gets it. He gets the people he is head of state for.”
“I think he is a person who understands the United Kingdom and the diversity of this nation. He also understands the challenges in front of people here in the U.K.,” Mehta added.
“The diversity was evident from the young people who have been on charitable programs through to global megastars. I met people from all over the country and from all communities. There was a lovely feeling.”
Mehta added, “And then at the end, there was the chief rabbi, the Hindu leader, the Muslim leader and Buddhist leader all stood there speaking in unison was testament to the inclusion of the faith communities in the United Kingdom in a powerful well. And there was the [Catholic] Cardinal from Westminster included too.”
