Joey King is fully embracing her bold new look, regardless of the mixed reactions. The Kissing Booth star recently debuted bleached eyebrows, sparking plenty of online discussion. Rather than shying away from the chatter, Joey playfully addressed the buzz in a hilarious TikTok video, joking, “I dyed my eyebrows like a week ago. They were like white before, and now they just look like the Lorax mustache.”
But here’s the twist: she’s totally into it. “I kind of love it,” she added, proving once again that she’s all about owning her unique style — even if it’s “weird” to some. “Then I saw my mom two days ago, and she was like, ‘I just can’t look at you. You look so weird,’” the 25-year-old shared in a TikTok. But Joey wasn’t backing down, confidently defending her look with, “Guys, I know I look weird. That’s the point.”
She added, “I told her, ‘Mom, that’s the point. I’m trying something different. I’m gonna dye them back, but just let me have this moment.’”
Joey’s striking bleached brows have certainly stirred up mixed opinions. When she first revealed the look in an Instagram post, fans didn’t hold back — some were intrigued, while others were unsure about the change. “Where are your eyebrows? Please bring them back,” one person commented, while another questioned, “Why… Just… Why?” Another user added, “Let’s leave the bleached eyebrows in 2024 and with the Wicked cast.”

But it wasn’t all criticism! Fellow celebs like Noah Cyrus showed love, commenting on TikTok, “I love this look on you.” Another chimed in, “At first, I didn’t understand what everyone was freaking out about…her eyebrows are still there, people, she bleached them!! I think she looks phenomenal,” proving that Joey’s daring style has plenty of fans.

Joey King isn’t having the best luck in the kitchen.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Kissing Booth alum, 25, posted four photos on her Instagram Stories of burns she suffered on her face and neck while cooking.
In the selfies, King gives a close-up look at the blisters on her chin and neck, plus a snap of her injuries covered in ointment.
“I burned myself a few days ago by throwing shallots into a pan of hot oil,” the actress wrote. “I called my mom to tell her and she says, ‘See that’s why I hate cooking.’💀”

King’s burns aren’t the only problem she’s had with her skin lately.
In July 2024, the Family Affair actress shared her skincare routine while opening up about her recent frustrations with perioral dermatitis.
While using a small razor to dermaplane her face, the star said she’s been struggling with perioral dermatitis for the last seven months. The skin condition, also known as POD, causes small red bumps to form around the eyes, nose or mouth, according to the American Academy of Dermatology Association.
“I’m trying to stop my prescription stuff to make it go away on its own,” King said at the time. “I just stopped it like a week ago, I started using my other skincare and, you can’t really see it right now, but it’s like coming back. And I have literally no idea what to do about it.”
She also captioned the post: “Any tips for the dermatitis would be greatly appreciated.”
