Quinton Aaron‘s health has taken a difficult turn.
TheĀ Blind SideĀ actorāwho played formerĀ NFLĀ offensive linemanĀ Michael OherĀ in the 2009 filmāhas been put on life support four days after being hospitalized following a collapse at his home, his wifeĀ MargaritaĀ toldĀ TMZĀ Jan. 26.
Margarita said she rushed Quinton, 41, to the hospital after he lost feeling in his legs and fell while walking up the stairs, according to the outlet. After running several tests, doctors determined the actor has a blood infection, though they are still doing further research.
And while Quinton has been put on life support, Margarita said she has hope he will recover. After all, she shared that he is only partially using the specialized equipment to breathe on his own.
Describing Quinton as a “fighter,” Margarita added, “He’s showing a lot of improvement. We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered.”
E! News reached out to a rep for Quinton for comment but has not heard back
This isn’t the first time Quinton has provided insight into his health struggles. Back in March, he shared thatĀ he was hospitalizedĀ after experiencing a fever and bloody cough.
At the time, Quinton toldĀ TMZĀ that he had undergone testing at a medical facility in Southern California, where doctors believed that he was likely experiencing Type A flu and pneumonia.
And theĀ HalfwayĀ actor faced another health scare in 2019, when he was admitted to a hospital due to an upper respiratory infection and a bronchitis flare up.
Shortly after, he shared an update saying he’d made a full recovery after being sick “for the past couple months.”
“I’m out, everything is all good,ā Aaron said in a since-deleted Instagram video. āI’m gonna go take my medicines. I’m about to go home and take a nap because I’m tired, couldn’t sleep, people walking in my room at all hours of the night.”

Quinton AaronĀ is fighting for his life after experiencing a mysterious neck pain which prompted his wife to call for help.
“The Blind Side” star was intubated Friday and placed on life support due to a severe blood infection, his wife Margarita Aaron confirmed to Fox News Digital.
Doctors are not yet sure what caused the infection and continue to run tests to determine the root of the cause. While Aaron’s medical team said his status is “day by day,” Margarita remained optimistic about his prognosis and said her husband is “a very strong fighter.”
“After the 911 call, we went to the hospital and the doctors determined to put him on an endotracheal tube because his breathing was a little sporadic,” Margarita said. “They’re continuing to run tests right now to find out what the root cause of the issue is.”
She added, “He’s still on antibiotics, blanket antibiotics to just cover whatever the issue might be with regard to his blood.”

The veteran is “making significant progress” each day with “little moments where he’s moving his fingers or trying to open his eyes.”

“Although he seemed like he was a little lucid, he was not very responsive,” she said of a visit with Aaron yesterday. “I did at least get a thumbs up out of him when I chatted with him, which was promising. At this point, the endotracheal tube or the breathing assistance that he has is not doing all the work, thankfully.”
“He’s doing some of the work as well, which is also promising. They’re going to do a bioluminescent MRI, so there will be more answers at that point as well.”
She added, “He’s a fighter; he’s a very strong fighter, and you know, he is making progress day by day, and I believeĀ God’s got him, and he believes God’s got him.”
Aaron revealed to Fox News Digital in October that a medical scare prompted a complete lifestyle overhaul. He credited the near-death experience to receiving a wake-up call from God.
“I had this come-to-Jesus kind of moment a few years back,” he remembered. “I was at this waterfront inĀ Mandeville, Louisiana.Ā This is like during COVID, 2021ish. And I used to always go there and sit and just meditate, listen to the water and stuff.”
He added, “There’s one day I’m sitting there on the wall, and I’m just listening to the water vibe, and then I wake up underwater. So I literally passed out, fell off the wall, and it was like a 12-foot drop, but the water was only three feet deep. I didn’t know that at the time. Well, thank God it was three feet deep, because I can’t swim.”
Aaron said he heard a voice encouraging him to stand up.

“I literally woke up underwater,” he recalled. “I didn’t have a chance to take a breath and brace myself. When I woke up, I was submerged, and I just felt this pain on the back of my neck and shoulder from going down. But while I’m underwater, I hear this voice say, āStand up.ā And so I stand, like I start trying to get to my feet. The water is pushing me into the rocks, and I’m kinda like hitting my head up against something. I don’t know what it was, but I can’t see, because the water’s dirty brown.”
He managed to climb out of the water and was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors conducted a full-body examination on him and discovered that he had an infection in one of his big toes that had spread to his bone. He later learned that his fall may have been caused by diabetic ketoacidosis, a complication from extremely high blood sugar levels.
“I was in the hospital for a few weeks getting IV antibiotics,” Aaron said. “I almost lost my toe, but thankfully I didn’t. They just cut a piece of it off, and it had to heal.”
Aaron starred as Michael Oher alongsideĀ Sandra BullockĀ and Tim McGraw in the ’09 hit “The Blind Side.” The movie was inspired by the real-life story of a Tennessee family that took in and adopted Oher, who would later have a career in the National Football League (NFL).

Quinton Aaron’sĀ family confirmed the actor suffered a spinal stroke, days after news broke that he was intubated and placed on life support after experiencing a mysterious neck pain.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, “The Blind Side” star’s family expressed their appreciation for “the overwhelming love, support and prayers that Quinton has received over the past few days from his fans, the public, and our concerned community.”
“To update everyone, he had a spinal stroke. He is alert, aware and recovering,” the statement read. “The Aaron family has a lot to deal with for the betterment of their loved one, but will be sure to keep everyone posted regarding Quintonās health as we see fit.”
The family then warned fans that “any other information that you hear pertaining to Quintonās health from any other source that isnāt coming directly from his official blood relative family” or from their spokesperson, Liana Mendoza, “is not to be taken as factual information.”

“We kindly ask the public to please respect the decisions we make and to please understand that false information or statements may be made by others who continue to come forward but are not fully informed or aware of all of the facts surroundingĀ his conditionĀ nor are they authorized to do so,” the statement continued.
“If there continues to be indications of, or individuals who speak about his condition without consent, which violates HIPAA laws, we strongly urge you not to, because there will be legal repercussions,” they added. “Thank you once again for the outpouring of love. We send Peace & Love.”
Quinton’s wife, Margarita Aaron, confirmed to Fox News Digital on Monday that the actor was intubated and put on life support on Friday, Jan. 23, due to a severe blood infection.
Doctors were uncertain what the cause of the infection was at the time, but Margarita kept a positive attitude, telling Fox News Digital, Quinton is “a very strong fighter.”

Aaron previously opened up about a health scare during an October 2025 interview with Fox News Digital, in which he described the incident that led him toĀ lose over 200 poundsĀ and change his lifestyle.
He recalled the moment he passed out while sitting along the waterfront in Mandeville, Louisiana, and struggling to stand up again due to debilitating pain. He later found out that the fall may have been caused by diabetic ketoacidosis, a complication from extremely high blood sugar levels.
“I was in diabetic ketoacidosis,” he said. “The blood becomes acidic, and your organs start to shut down. So thatās why God was like, āDo you want to die?ā And Iām like, āNo.ā Because I was on the way.”
After this experience, heĀ cut out sugar from his diet, began intermittent fasting and implemented portion control.
“It wasn’t an overnight process,” Aaron continued. “It definitely took some work, but my mindset was at that point where it was like, I got a lot of things I want to live for. At the time, I was single. I’ve always wanted to be married and have kids. And I’m like, āWhat condition am I gonna be in if I had kids? I gotta make these changes.ā”

Amy Schumerās Cushing Syndrome

“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldnāt have known if the internet hadnāt come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024Ā News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”
Casey Fitzgerald’s Neck Injury From Hockey Skate Blade
The AHL player was cut by a fellow player’s skate during a game in December 2024 and received 25 stitches. His father, New Jersey Devils general managerĀ Tom FitzgeraldĀ later told ESPN after his son was fully recovered, “We’re very lucky. I don’t wish that on any parent.”
Hailey Bieber’s Blood Clot
Hailey BieberĀ had the “scariest moment” of her life when she was having breakfast with husbandĀ Justin BieberĀ and started experiencing stroke-like symptoms in March 2022.
“Justin was like, ‘Are you OK?'” the Rhode skincare mogul shared a month later onĀ YouTube, “and I just didn’t respond because I wasn’t sure. And then he asked me again and when I went to respond, I couldn’t speak. The right side of my face started drooping. I couldn’t get a sentence out.”
While Hailey said the facial drooping stopped and her speech came back, she went to the hospital to make sure she was OK.
“They did some scans and they were able to see that I had suffered a smallĀ blood clot to my brain,” the model added, “which they labeled and categorized as something called a TIA [Transient Ischemic Attack].”
Later, Hailey went to the University of California, Los Angeles, where she found out she had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).
She explained the blood clot had traveled into her heart, “escaped” through the hole and went to her brain, leading to the TIA.
Hailey said she had aĀ successful PFO closureĀ procedure and was nowĀ feeling great.
Justin Bieber’s Ramsay Hunt Syndrome
The same year Hailey had her health scare, Justin experienced one of his own.
In June 2022, the “Baby” singer shared he wasĀ diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis to parts of his face and forced him toĀ cancel the remainder of his Justice World Tour.
“It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” Justin explained in anĀ InstagramĀ video at the time. “As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So, there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”
In fact, he told his followers it had gotten “progressively harder to eat.” But after a while, the paralysis went away.
“He’s doing really well,” Hailey said on a June 2022 episode ofĀ Good Morning America, later adding, “He’s feeling a lot better. Obviously, it was just a very scary and random situation to happen, but he’s going to be totally OK and I’m just grateful that he’s fine.”
Jamie Foxx’s Brain Bleed & Stroke

Tracey Yukich’s Medical Emergency onĀ The Biggest Loser
The reality star revealed that she “died” while running a mile during the first challenge of the NBC competition series.

Emilia Clarke’s Brain Aneurysm
Emilia ClarkeĀ filmed battle scenes forĀ Game of Thrones,Ā but in 2019, she publishedĀ an essay inĀ The New YorkerĀ titled “A Battle for My Life.”
Having a bad headache at the gym, “I reached the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill,” the actress wrote. “Meanwhile, the paināshooting, stabbing, constricting paināwas getting worse. At some level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged.”
She was taken to the hospital for a brain scan.
“The diagnosis was quick and ominous: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke, caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain,” the Emmy nominee added. “Iād had anĀ aneurysm, an arterial rupture.”
Emilia had immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, calling the pain “unbearable.” While she was recovering, she continued, she experienced aphasia and was “muttering nonsense.”
A week later, “the aphasia passed,” Emilia added, and she left the hospital a month after being admitted.
At a 2013 brain scan, she learned a growth “doubled in size” and that she needed surgery again.
“When they woke me, I was screaming in pain,” she wrote. “The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it plain that my chances of surviving were precarious if they didnāt operate again. This time they needed toĀ access my brainĀ in the old-fashioned wayāthrough my skull.”
Thankfully, Emilia shared, she’s now “at a hundred per cent.”
Cori Broadus’s Stroke
Snoop Dogg‘s daughterĀ Cori BroadusĀ is grateful for her family.
Because after sheĀ suffered a “severe stroke” in January 2024, her loved onesĀ rushed to be by her side.
“I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture,” she toldĀ E! NewsĀ correspondentĀ Will MarfuggiĀ in December 2024. “Everybody just came to my rescue.”
Because of other medical concerns, Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than she initially expected.
“I could have went home after my stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing so well,” theĀ Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s StoryĀ star continued. “My kidneys were failing. It was a lot going on.”
Today, Cori is on the mend.
“I’m doing great,” she added. “I just had a little bit of motor skills that I had to work back on. But other than that, I was fine.”
