BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Bentonville man has been arrested in connection with allegations that he raped a child, impregnated her, tried to force an abortion and disposed of the newborn’s body after she gave birth.

Wade Green, 43, was taken into custody Monday, Nov. 10 in relation to allegations of rape, concealing a birth, sexual assault and sexual extortion, although no formal charges have been filed as of Nov. 13 at 12 p.m.
Detectives with the Bentonville Police Department began investigating after a child disclosed repeated assaults and abuse at the hands of a man identified in court documents as Green, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The girl’s name and age have been redacted from public records, but a probable cause affidavit states she said the abuse began when she was 10 or 11 years old.
She told investigators that Green would enter her bedroom at night to assault her and that he pressured her to send nude photos of herself. The affidavit states that when the girl ultimately became pregnant, Green allegedly attacked her and used a metal rod in an attempt to cause a miscarriage.
The girl told police she gave birth alone in her home’s bathroom and believed the baby was not alive.
The affidavit states that when the child started giving birth, she felt dizzy and unwell. When she told Wade this, he reportedly responded, “It sounds like you’re having the baby, deal with it.”
She said Green later returned, placed the body in a plastic bag and disposed of it in the trash, according to the affidavit.
Investigators said the girl recounted these events in detail during an interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County, where she also described several years of physical, sexual and psychological abuse.
In the affidavit, she alleged that Green often made threats, claiming his experience as a Marine allowed him to “kill someone and make it look like an accident,” and warned her not to report him.
The affidavit further notes that police recovered audio recordings in which Green professed affection for the child and referenced their “relationship.” The girl told investigators that Green continued to assault her even after she gave birth.
Green also reportedly threatened to commit suicide if the alleged victim started dating her peers.
Green was issued a no contact order towards the alleged victim, according to court filings.
Green is being held on a $500,000 cash bond in the Benton County Jail. His arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 22.
