Lauren and Cameron Hamilton‘s family just got a little bigger!
The Love Is Blind alums, who married during the first season of the hit Netflix show, welcomed their first baby together, a son named Ezra, on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 8:18 p.m., sharing the happy news exclusively with PEOPLE. Lauren, 37, says that their bundle of joy, who entered the world weighing 5 lbs., 15 oz., made the long journey to parenthood “worth it.”
“He’s been such a blessing already,” she tells PEOPLE. “Having [him] has made the long journey worth it.”
Echoing his wife’s sentiments, Cameron, 35, shares that the experience “still feels surreal.”
“It still feels surreal that we have a son after four years of trying to conceive,” he tells PEOPLE. “That said, the 4 a.m. feedings and diaper changes have definitely made it feel more real. I’m grateful for it all.”

The couple tells PEOPLE that the name of their little one came to them naturally, and a little nudge from their guardian angel solidified their choice.
“The name ‘Ezra’ just came to us one day when we first started talking about baby names,” Cameron shares. “Once I suggested it, we both agreed that was going to be his name. It felt right.”
“After my dad passed, we were organizing his things and we found a Bible that had been his mother’s,” Lauren explains. “When we opened it, the Bible opened to the book of Ezra and a picture of dad fell out. That was a sign.”

For the first-time parents, holding baby Ezra in his earliest moments was a special, full-circle moment. Cameron says that it was “such a relief” holding their baby boy, especially after their difficult fertility journey.
“It was such a sense of relief holding him,” says Cameron. “I was thinking, ‘We really did it. After all the intentional work we putting into making him, he’s here.'”
Lauren describes the first time she held her son as a “magical” moment, adding once he was settled on her chest she “didn’t want him to move again.” The doting mom also tells PEOPLE that she had one thought immediately go through her mind when she looked at her newborn for the first time.
“I was thinking, ‘He looks just like Cam. I knew it!’ ” Lauren shares. “I had a dream that he would look like this. But even more than that I was thinking about how grateful I am to be his mom and raise him.”
For Cameron, the moment he looked at his son for the first time he felt the need to “protect” him.
“I got to see him open his eyes for the first time and in that moment I thought, ‘I have to protect him for the rest of my life,’ ” he says.
With a newborn at home, both Lauren and Cameron tell PEOPLE that it has been an adjustment. Between the sleepless nights, late-night feeds and diaper changes, Lauren says it’s been “rough,” but they are finding what works for them.
“I’m not gonna lie, it’s been rough adjusting to the late-night diaper changes and feedings,” Lauren shares. “What’s been working for us so far has been sticking to a schedule as much as we can.”
“Of course, Ezra has his own schedule at times,” Cameron says, giving his wife some extra praise. “Lauren is a great mom already and has been on top of what he needs. She’s always making sure he’s got his hat and socks on, even though he likes kicking them off.”

Above all, The Love Seat hosts are looking forward to soaking up all the priceless and precious moments with their son.
“It hard to pick one thing that we’re looking forward to, besides saying we’re looking forward to all the firsts: first steps, first word, first time he ties his shoes, [etc.],” Lauren says, adding, “I want to see how his little face changes over time and if he has my dimples.”
Cameron says that he’s most excited for witnessing his son experience joy for the first time.
“I’m looking forward to when he first experiences joy and we get to play games with him,” he tells PEOPLE. “I just want to see his little eyes light up and his imagination start to run.”
