Royal Insiders Claim Prince Andrew’s Lifestyle Is ‘Sickening’ Behind Closed Doors Amid Controversies

Despite Virginia Giuffre’s accounts in her posthumously released memoir, Nobody’s GirlPrince Andrew is apparently still living the high life. While his titles were stripped and he’s allegedly under 24/7 surveillance, that isn’t stopping the luxury. While some royal staffers already told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack that he’s still referred to as “his royal highness” behind closed doors, more insiders claim he’s not stopping his luxe life.

Insiders told Heat World that despite all the controversy and isolation, Andrew is still allegedly living it up.

“Andrew is still acting completely entitled, you’d think he’d slink off with his tail between his legs, but no, he’s still wants to be the man of the manor and is insisting on being waited on hand and foot at a great cost to the King’s own personal coffers,” they said. “For now, life is still going on pretty much as normal for Andrew, at least when it comes to his daily luxuries, and the excess is sickening.”

They said, “He doesn’t drink, but he still loves to host his friends. Although now it’s mostly a sad group of hangers-on because the majority of the London social set has turned their backs on him. But that hasn’t stopped him from ordering in crates of champagne and fine wines every week. And he insists on a proper silver service dinner every night, even if it’s just him and Fergie.”

(This somewhat checks out since Andrew was still able to host his annual hunting party!)

Along with claiming Andrew is “just as gluttonous and wasteful as always,” he has a huge breakfast that could “feed a small army” and “refuses to compromise on the quality.”

So while it looks like it’s all downhill on the outside, insiders insist nothing has changed.

Prince Andrew Is Reportedly Living in a Royal Fantasy Where ‘Nothing Has Changed’

Prince Andrew, Duke of York attends the Endurance event on day 3 of the Royal Windsor Horse Show in Windsor Great Park on May 12, 2017 in Windsor, England.

Prince Andrew‘s scandal may be horrifying to most people, but he is reportedly carrying on as if nothing happened behind the scenes.

That might sound crazy, given the stories depicted in Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl, but the disgraced royal still seems to think he’s untouchable behind palace walls. A source shared that Andrew still wants to be addressed like a royal family member by his staff, according to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.

“Nothing has changed inside Royal Lodge,” a staffer claimed. “The butler still says ‘Your Royal Highness,’ and the staff still bow. Andrew’s made it clear — palace rules don’t apply inside his walls.” That request seems pretty brazen, since he and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, lost their Duke and Duchess of York titles last week. “He insists it’s his birthright — not something the King can erase,” the insider added.

While King Charles III’s punishment is one aspect of Prince Andrew’s downfall, it would take Parliament to make it official — and it looks like some members want to take action. Chancellor Rachel Reeves told the BBC on Oct. 21 that Andrew’s association with Jeffrey Epstein and his rent-free lifestyle at Royal Lodge are worth looking into.

“He shouldn’t have been associated with a convicted pedophile, and I think the new revelations in this book make for very sober reading, and I’m sure everybody will reflect on that and form their own judgment,” she said.

The Times discovered that Prince Andrew’s lease allowed him to pay around $1.3 million upfront and over $10 million in renovations, but he’s essentially lived rent-free after that initial payment in 2003.

Andrew’s level of entitlement goes way back — this isn’t new behavior. Newsnight producer Sam McAlister was in the room during his disastrous 2019 interview with the program. She told SheKnows in April 2024 that he failed to read the room about the seriousness of the Epstein issue. McAlister described him as “very overconfident” about his “own capabilities.” He thought he could talk his way out of the situation because he knew how to “work a room.”

That sentiment aligns with Shuter’s source, who added, “He’s living in his own royal bubble. To the world, he’s a fallen prince — but in his home, he’s still the Duke.”

Prince Andrew’s downfall took a long time, but he’s not ready to give up the privilege of royal life without a fight.

The news that Prince Andrew was giving up his titles, including the Duke of York, came late on Friday, Oct. 17, in the wake of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, publishing next week.

The excerpts were damning, and someone in the royal family reportedly had enough, but it certainly wasn’t Andrew holding himself accountable. Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack is claiming that it was Prince William, not King Charles, who was the “real architect” in taking action against Prince Andrew. Any royal fan who has been paying attention to this story knows that the Prince of Wales “lost patience” with the embarrassing situation years ago.

“William made it clear this couldn’t drag on any longer,” a palace insider shared with Shuter. “He told his father that if Andrew didn’t go quietly, the family’s image would never recover.” Andrew reportedly “feels betrayed” by the palace and is “livid” about the situation, but he should have seen this coming.

In September, William was “boiling with anger” toward Andrew and his father when his uncle scored a seat near him at the funeral of the late Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, according to the Daily Beast. It led to a family feud between the monarch and the Prince of Wales, who was not pleased about his father’s “weak” stance on Andrew.

“William always said, ‘Just cut Andrew off completely. It’s not appropriate to have an alleged sex offender breaking bread with the royal family.’ Charles was so desperate to be seen as embodying the spirit of Christian forgiveness that he let Andrew back in,” a source told the media outlet.

Charles continued to treat his younger brother with kid gloves, the same way the late Queen Elizabeth II did — and Andrew was never going to take responsibility for his association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Newsnight producer Sam McAlister told SheKnows in April 2024 how Prince Andrew failed to read the room during his infamous interview with the news program. Describing him as “very overconfident” about his “own capabilities” during the interview, she believed he thought he could talk his way out of the Epstein controversy because he knew how to “work a room.”

William was the only royal family member to hold firm on his opinion about his disgraced uncle — and once he’s on the throne, the punishment will likely be greater.

“Together, William and Kate are said to have drawn up what aides privately call the final line: no royal role, no funding, and no future public appearances for Andrew,” a source told Closer on Oct. 16. “It’s the firmest position yet and one that could finally banish the Yorks from the royal inner circle for good.”
