Getting pressure from the prince.
Prince Harry has reportedly come up with a list of demands ahead of his trip to the UK — and the duke’s orders are said to have left palace courtiers “reeling.”
The Duke of Sussex, 40, will reportedly meet with his estranged father, King Charles, next week — marking their first in-person reunion in 20 months.
But in order for the rumored peace talks to take place, Harry has reportedly barked out several requests that need to be fulfilled by the Windsor clan, according to top celebrity publicist Rob Shuter.
In his most recent Substack, Jennifer Lopez’s former p.r. honcho claimed that insiders close to the “Spare” author revealed some of the things on Harry’s alleged list.
Among those is “full security” for him and his family, “press control” that will be “coordinated by Buckingham Palace” and for his wife, Meghan Markle, to be treated as Her Royal Highness, “complete with bows and curtsies” in her presence.
“Harry doesn’t want another trip where he feels unprotected and exposed,” a source told Shuter.
“He wants iron-clad guarantees — not vague promises. Security and privacy are non-negotiable,” the insider added.
The California transplant previously insisted that having his family join him on trips to the UK was not an option without “full police protection” — for which he lost his appeal in English courts earlier this year.
It’s understood, however, that Harry will be flying solo, as his wife — who has not set foot in the UK since September 2022 — will remain in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
Another insider claimed that Charles “wants peace and to see his son, but these demands risk blowing open old wounds.”
“Harry’s offering reconciliation — but at a price. And that price includes the entire royal family bowing to Meghan,” a source said.
The Post has reached out to Harry’s reps, as well as Buckingham and Kensington palaces, for comment.
The former working royal’s upcoming UK dash coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
It also comes weeks after Harry’s press team was seen meeting with the monarch’s communications secretary for a top-secret discussion in London.
While the rumored meet-up may suggest that things are heading in the right direction, Harry claimed in May that his cancer-stricken father was not speaking to him.
Still, the father of two — who has been married to the “Suits” alum, 44, since 2018 — told the BBC that he would “love a reconciliation” with his estranged family.
Prince Harry set to meet with King Charles: “reconciliation is within reach”
But while the Duke of Sussex plans a private reunion with his father, Prince William is said to have rejected the peace talks, sources say.
Prince Harry is preparing for a long-awaited reunion with King Charles — their first face-to-face meeting in nearly two years. According to a new report, the Duke of Sussex will see his father when he returns to London in early September for the WellChild Awards, a charity event he has supported for years.
The meeting, expected to take place privately, comes after months of quiet behind-the-scenes talks between Harry’s team and Buckingham Palace officials. A source told the Mirror there is now “a determination on both sides to make this happen,” describing the upcoming encounter as a low-key but meaningful step toward healing a fractured relationship.
Harry and the King have not seen each other since January 2024, during which time Charles has continued cancer treatment. Insiders say the Duke wants a chance to reconnect with his father and keep lines of communication open. “For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach,” one source shared, according to the Mirror.
William says no to reconciliation
While Charles appears ready to extend an olive branch, Prince William is reportedly not interested in joining any peace talks. According to the report, the Prince of Wales believes Harry has too often chosen publicity over private resolution, leaving little room for trust.
Meghan Markle to remain in California
Despite the possibility of progress between Harry and his father, Meghan Markle will not be joining her husband on the trip. She is expected to stay in California with the couple’s children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4. King Charles has not seen his grandchildren since 2022.
Whether this meeting marks the beginning of a true reconciliation remains to be seen, but for Harry and Charles, royal insiders say the priority is “privacy and dignity” — and keeping the door open for future dialogue.
Meghan Markle is working on a cozy holiday special
The Duchess of Sussex will welcome viewers inside for With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration on Netflix.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Productions is staying put at Netflix. The streamer announced August 11 that it has extended its multi-year creative partnership with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, giving Netflix the first look at all future film and television projects from the couple’s media company.
Since their collaboration began in 2020, Archewell Productions has released Harry & Meghan, Heart of Invictus, Live to Lead, Polo, and Meghan’s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan — which became Netflix’s most-watched culinary show of 2025 with 5.3 million views in the first half of the year.
The announcement came with news that With Love, Meghan will return for a second season later this month, featuring celebrity chefs, artists, and friends in playful cooking challenges and DIY projects. Then, in December, Meghan will host a festive Montecito gathering in With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration. The one-off special will show friends and family “deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs” — complete with simple how-tos for viewers to follow at home.
Other upcoming projects include a feature adaptation of the bestselling romance novel Meet Me at the Lake and the documentary short Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, about a Ugandan orphanage where children turn hardship into joy through dance.
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix,” Meghan said in a statement released by Netflix, “and expand our work together to include the As ever brand,” her sold-out lifestyle line that launched in April. The statement added a note referencing Prince Harry: “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.“
Prince Harry signals he’s ready for peace with the royal family
Prince Harry has reportedly extended a significant olive branch to the Royal Family: sharing his upcoming schedule in advance with Buckingham Palace — and even Prince William’s court at Kensington Palace — in a move insiders are calling a potential turning point in his long-strained relationship with the monarchy.
A report by royal editor Charlotte Griffiths for The Mail on Sunday revealed that the Duke of Sussex is now offering to coordinate his official diary with the Royal Family in an effort to prevent future publicity conflicts, like the one earlier this month when coverage of Harry’s unannounced trip to Angola appeared to eclipse Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday portrait in the British press.
Photos of Harry walking through a cleared minefield in Angola — echoing the iconic 1997 images of his late mother, Princess Diana — dominated front pages across the U.K. According to The Mail, the timing wasn’t coordinated with the palace, and the overlap reportedly caused some frustration behind the scenes.
Now, sources say Harry has agreed to draw up a schedule of his engagements to be shared with royal aides — a move described as a “significant gesture” by a palace insider quoted in the Mail report. The goal is to remove conflicts from schedules and restore some sense of harmony, especially as the King continues cancer treatment and royal engagements remain closely monitored.
Before a pivotal series of meetings of the royals’ aides in London, “conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes,” the source said, according to The Mail. “Now, Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking.”
Those meetings included a now-publicized balcony rendezvous between the Sussexes’ chief communications officer Meredith Maines, the King’s press chief Tobyn Andreae, and Harry’s U.K.-based press officer Liam Maguire — all seen together at a private London club, per photos published by The Mail earlier this month.
While Harry remains based in California and reportedly “still doesn’t like being controlled by the Royal machinery,” insiders say this new openness marks the first time since 2020 that he’s been willing to share his movements with Prince William’s team.
It’s not just about clearing the calendar. Harry’s trip to Angola carried deep personal meaning. He visited the same village his mother had once highlighted during her landmark landmine advocacy trip — now mostly cleared thanks to ongoing efforts by the Halo Trust. In a statement posted on Sussex.com, Harry said, “As a father to young children, it breaks my heart to see innocent children still living and playing next to minefields.”
The Mail notes that during the trip, Harry spoke Portuguese, gave safety lessons to local children, and repeated calls for landmine education — but the uncoordinated timing once again led to headlines that left the royal press office scrambling.
This isn’t the only recent case of overlapping royal coverage involving Team Sussex. Meghan Markle’s social media rebrand and behind-the-scenes content about her home life has also drawn tabloid attention, sometimes dwarfing coverage of official royal engagements.
According to The Mail, King Charles — who is known to prefer careful scheduling and balanced media coverage — has long bristled at overlapping engagements among family members. While no one is suggesting Harry’s schedule will be subject to royal approval, sharing it is seen as a crucial first step toward reconciliation — particularly between father and son.
Sources close to Harry told The Mail that although a September meetup may be “wishful thinking,” the two sides are “moving in the right direction.” Harry will return to London in late September for a WellChild charity event, and while he reportedly won’t visit Balmoral, there’s a chance he could cross paths with the King during one of Charles’ planned summer trips to London for medical appointments.
In a recent BBC interview, Harry hinted at the urgency behind a potential reunion, remarking, “I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
