(NewsNation) — Prince Harry may have dreams about returning to England … but if and when he does, he’d better make sure it happens soon because once King Charles is gone … so are Harry and Meghan’s (as well as their children Archie and Lilibet’s) titles.

I’m hearing from several sources, including Andrew Lownie, the historian and royal biographer, that one of Prince William’s first tasks will be to strip the “duke” and “duchess” titles from his brother and sister-in-law as well as the “prince” and “princess” titles the entire family shares.

Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson likely charged with crimes, exiled: Biographer

(Despite not wanting to be a part of the monarchy, Harry and Meghan made sure to have Archie and Lili designated as a prince and princess in March 2023).

“Getting rid of Andrew has been a very useful exercise in showing what’s possible regarding titles,” Lownie told me. “And it’s a warning shot across Harry’s bow.”

King Charles officially stripped his brother Andrew of his titles of royal highness and prince over his alleged relationship with infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“The King has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince,’” the Crown Office in the Gazette, the UK’s official public record, declared.

Prince William doesn’t recognize Prince Harry anymore: Source

“William will further slim down the monarchy,” Lownie, whose latest tome is “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” told me, adding that titles will be stripped from nonworking royals — including Harry and Meghan — so no future embarrassments can touch the Palace as Andrew’s scandals did.

Lownie added it is unlikely William will ever (willingly) be in the same room again as Harry, except perhaps at Charles’ deathbed and possibly funeral — although Lownie adds William may ban Harry from the funeral.

“You know, the King clearly wants to get back in touch with his son (Harry) before he dies, but William and Harry, that’s not going to happen,” Lownie said.

Other sources told me that William doesn’t even recognize his brother anymore.

”[Harry] was never this petulant or spoiled before marrying Meghan. He was not bitter. He understood what ground rules were. This is all a new person we’ve seen since he married Meghan,” my insider said.

”Harry is now unrecognizable.”

Prince Harry denies Canada trip was meant to upstage Prince William

William was further infuriated when the Sussexes’ spokesman chose the very first day of Prince William’s visit to Brazil to announce details of Harry’s own overseas trip to Canada for Remembrance events.

According to the Daily Mail, “The timing of the announcement seemed like a desperate attempt to overshadow coverage of William’s Rio trip. The Sussexes’ spokesmen deny this, insisting that the unfortunate timing was because Harry is ‘not afforded the same level of security and protection as other working members of the Royal Family’.”

The spokesman explained: “It means, therefore, that the period of time in which we can release details of events is much more truncated than it is for His Majesty the King or the Prince of Wales.”

“The entire debacle was insane,” my source added. “He sent his people to England to smooth over relations and then steps on William’s most important event of the year. Diary clashes never used to happen.”

The source insists the incident was “deliberate. Harry is a spoiled brat and wants the attention. He is very jealous of William. … He’s not getting good guidance, and he looks miserable all the time.”

And William is done.

Lownie predicts Harry will definitely not be invited to William’s coronation … and likely not even to King Charles’ funeral. “Both Andrew and Harry will be banned [from the events],” Lownie said. “The relationship between William and Harry is over.”

Could the Sussexes lose their titles? What’s really at stake for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Megyn Kelly’s bold prediction sparks new drama around Harry and Meghan’s royal titles, and whether their Hollywood era could come at a royal cost

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Megyn Kelly has reignited royal debate after claiming that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could soon follow Prince Andrew in losing their titles.

The broadcaster believes that once Prince William becomes king, he’ll move swiftly to strip the Sussexes of their royal status, a bold prediction that touches one of the most sensitive topics in the modern monarchy.

“King William, in whatever years it takes after he ascends, I think he’s going to take away their royal titles, and that should happen ASAP,” Kelly said during The Megyn Kelly Show.

While her prediction grabbed headlines, the reality of how royal titles can be removed is much more complicated, intertwining royal protocol, parliamentary authority, and deep family tensions.

Rising tension and royal precedent

Kelly criticized Meghan‘s use of her duchess title in U.S. appearances, claiming the Duchess was “dining out over here on the British royal titles.”

She added that Meghan and Harry had “lost support here in the United States,” accusing them of profiting off the very institution they once accused of racism.

Her remarks echo renewed debate following King Charles III‘s decision in 2022 to strip Prince Andrew of his royal patronages and “His Royal Highness” status amid the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Some royal commentators now see that move as a potential precedent for future action against Harry and Meghan.

A royal insider told Page Six that if certain legislative moves progress, “I would not be surprised if Harry is the next one to go.” The source added, “He’s not a vindictive person, but he feels very let down, and it’s always much more difficult when you are let down by somebody close to you.”

This sense of betrayal has reportedly widened the rift between Prince William and his younger brother, with the Prince of Wales increasingly focused on protecting the monarchy’s image and legacy.

What it would take, and what it would mean

However, removing a royal title isn’t as straightforward as a monarch’s decree. Legal experts have said that a peerage like Duke of Sussex can only be revoked through an Act of Parliament.

What a sovereign can do unilaterally is restrict the use of “His or Her Royal Highness,” which Queen Elizabeth IIalready did when Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020.

Still, symbolic changes can carry real-world consequences. Losing their titles could weaken their brand power, which underpins their commercial deals with platforms like Netflix and Spotify.

On the other hand, it could strengthen the monarchy’s public standing among Britons who favor a “slimmed-down” royal family focused on public duty rather than celebrity ventures.

Kelly’s prediction touches a nerve not only within the royal family but also among the public on both sides of the Atlantic.

For royal watchers, the question now isn’t just whether Harry and Meghan will lose their titles, but whether doing so would finally close the chapter on one of the most turbulent family dramas in modern royal history.
