She’s “prioritizing” family following the sudden loss of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

After seven years, Kelly Clarkson has confirmed that she will be exiting her NBC talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. On Monday, the “Because Of You” artist shared a lengthy statement detailing her reasons for “stepping away.”

“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York,” she wrote in a new Instagram post. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”

“I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner,” Clarkson added.

Although she said “this was not an easy decision,” she revealed that this season of TKCS will be its last.

“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” Clarkson continued. Her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who was also the father of her two children, died of cancer last year.

“This isn’t goodbye,” Clarkson noted, adding that she still plans on pursuing her musical career, including occasional guest spots on The Voice.

“I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years,” the singer concluded.

Reporting from Daily Mail late last month indicated that Clarkson already had “one foot out the door.”

“It isn’t a money play, she just wants to do something else, and she wants to be with her family more,” someone close to production told the outlet.

Since its debut in 2019, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” has won 24 Daytime Emmys, including four for “Outstanding Daytime Talk Series” and four for Clarkson as “Outstanding Talk Show Host,” according to Variety.

Clarkson’s decision to call it quits comes about six months after Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband of nearly seven years and the father of her two kids, died of cancer at 48. She took a few weeks off from making the show, but returned on Sept. 30 without mentioning his death.
