Sandy the pup didn’t really have the ideal puppy life.
She had no family to took care of her growing up and all she wanted was to feel safe and loved. So, after years of living on the street, she decided to take matters into her own paws.
Roaming around her neighborhood, she began looking at houses and the hoomans living inside, trying to decide which one would be the perfect fit.
After some investigating, Sandy finally found the one she felt the most comfortable in.
Is This My Home?
As she slowly dragged her tired body to the front door of the house, the owners noticed her and immediately took her inside.
Because she was dragging her front legs, they decided to first allow her to rest and eat some yummy treats before taking her to the vet for a check-up.
After looking her over, the vets concluded that she was probably hit by a car and left to fend for herself.
Since Sandy wasn’t feeling so well, both physically and mentally, these kind people decided to give her all the love and support she needed, making her feel like a puppy all over again.
This allowed her to gather up all of her hope and remaining strength so that she could finally live the life she always dreamt of.
Road To Recovery
The vets put Sandy on all of the necessary medications in order to make her feel as good as possible. But despite all their efforts, their hearts were broken when they found out that she had a broken spine.
This meant that, without surgery, Sandy would never be able to step on her paws.
But her new humans refused to give up and decided to perform the risky surgery, which ended up being successful!
Sandy began her recovery journey surrounded by the best hoomans and the most adorable furry friends ever.
But since they liked running around and having fun outside, her hoomans couldn’t bear to look at her missing out on all the fun. So they found a little wheelchair that would help Sandy to move around just like her friends!
It did take some time for her to get used to it, but when she finally did, there was no stopping her.
Sandy was running around the fields having the absolute time of her life, and her new hoomans couldn’t have been happier.
Seeing this sweet girl let go of her traumatizing past and embrace her new life filled their hearts with joy and their eyes with tears of happiness.
This doggo is living proof that with a little bit of love, care, and patience, anything is possible.
Final Word
Let Sandy’s story be a reminder that animals have feelings too!
They deserve to be treated with love and respect. Therefore, if you ever come across an animal who needs a helping hand, offer it to them.
It’s such a small thing to do but it makes the biggest difference.
